With Vessel of Hatred came the teachings of Akarat in Diablo 4, which you can find in Nahantu. Unlike the altars of Lilith, they do not grant you bonuses, but rather other rewards. You can find out where to locate the teachings here on MeinMMO.
What are the teachings of Akarat? The teachings of Akarat are basically the altars that you find in Nahantu, the new area in Diablo 4. Nahantu was introduced with the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, and brought new waypoints, dungeons, and a new regional progression with it.
The teachings of Akarat do not grant you permanent bonuses like the altars of Lilith that you find in the other areas. However, they give you points for your regional progression and on top of that two player titles and a mount when you find them all.
Teachings of Akarat: Locations & Solutions
Where can I find the teachings of Akarat? The teachings of Akarat are scattered throughout Nahantu. In total, there are 30 teachings that you can discover. To find all the teachings, take a look at our interactive map of Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred. On the map, you can filter for specific items, including the teachings. You will find them under the English designation “Tenet of Akarat.”

How do I activate the teachings? Unlike the altars, you cannot just click on the teachings because for some you first have to solve small puzzles – or kill monsters. There are four different types of tasks that await you at the teachings. All of them are related to the Stone Guardians that you find near the teachings:
- Defeat enemies that spawn at the teaching of Akarat
- notable by a reddish Stone Guardian
- Activate and “light” three Stone Guardians in succession
- notable by the green-glowing Stone Guardians
- Destroy slime at the teaching of Akarat with attacks
- notable by gray Stone Guardians and glowing orbs when all monsters have been killed
- Interact with the correct Stone Guardian near the teaching of Akarat
- pay attention to the guardians in the background and activate the Stone Guardian nearby the teaching that matches
So take a good look around the locations of the teachings and you will find out what is expected of you. Interact with the Stone Guardians at the location, kill monsters, and then you can collect the teachings of Akarat.
Teachings of Akarat: Rewards
What do I get for finding the teachings? As soon as you discover the first “altar”, you will receive the player title “Seeker”, “Templar.” If you find all the teachings of Akarat, you will receive the player title “Akarat’s”, “Faithful” and according to wowhead.com on top of that the mount “Reins of the Nahantu Lion.”
For each teaching of Akarat, you also receive 10 points for your regional progress in Nahantu. The regional progress rewards you with additional slots for the healing potion, skill points, and gold. This applies permanently and to every character on your account that you create on the realm (so seasonally, eternally, or in hardcore mode).
You should not ignore the regional progress and aim to complete it as soon as possible so that your future heroes can benefit from it. It is one of the unwritten rules in Diablo 4 that you should never break to avoid attracting the wrath of Lilith or other players.
