In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, there are codes that allow you to obtain free items through Mystery Gifts. Everything you need to know about this can be found here.
What Mystery Gifts are currently available? Through Mystery Gifts, you can snag various items and Pokémon for free on different occasions. Some require codes, while others can be obtained simply via an internet connection.
The following Mystery Gifts are currently available:
- No Code: Project M, Mewtunit X, Mewtunit Y
- Completion of the main campaign required
- No Code: Diancite Stone with Extra Mission
- Through a Mystery Gift, you will receive the Diancite Stone and the Extra Mission “Shine Bright like a Gemstone.” With this stone, you can also evolve Diancite into a Mega Evolution.
Note that you will need a stable internet connection to redeem the gifts and that they can only be redeemed once. You will receive the individual codes via email when you make your purchase.

Entering Codes – How to Obtain Mystery Gifts
When can you start receiving Mystery Gifts? You unlock this feature after speaking with Magnolia for the first time during the third main quest. This takes about an hour of playtime, provided you don’t stray from the path.
How do you redeem codes? Open the menu using the X button. Then select “Multiplayer/Online” and find the “Mystery Gift” option there.
You will then have the choice between the following options:
- Receive via Internet
- Receive via Serial Code/Password
- Check Mystery Gifts
If you have a code that you want to enter, you need to choose the second option and simply input the code and confirm. You will find your Mystery Gift under the last item in the previous view.
Note: You need a stable internet connection for this. A subscription is not required – you only need a Nintendo Account.
You do not need a subscription for any of these gifts. If you act quickly after release, you can also secure a special Mega Evolution. However, you need a subscription for that, which could be worth it for many: If you grind fast enough, you can obtain a limited-time Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but you need a subscription for that.
