In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, there are codes that you can use to secure free items through Mystery Gifts. Everything you need to know can be found here.
What Mystery Gifts are currently available? Through Mystery Gifts, you can claim various items and Pokémon for free on different occasions. Some require codes, while others can be secured simply via internet connection.
Currently, the following Mystery Gifts are available:
- No Code: Project M, Mewtwo X, Mewtwo Y
- Completion of the main campaign required
- No Code: Diancite Stone with Extra Mission
- Through a Mystery Gift, you will receive the Diancite Stone and the Extra Mission “Shine Bright like a Gemstone”. With this stone, you can also enable Diancite for a Mega Evolution.
Note that you need an active internet connection for the gifts, and they can only be redeemed once. You will receive individual codes via email upon purchase.

Enter Codes – Here’s How to Obtain Mystery Gifts
When can you start receiving Mystery Gifts? You unlock the feature after speaking with Magnolia for the first time during the third main quest. This requires about an hour of gameplay, as long as you don’t stray off the path.
How do you redeem codes? Access the menu using the X button. Then, go to the ‘Multiplayer/Online’ section and find the ‘Mystery Gift’ field.
There you will have the following options:
- Receive via Internet
- Receive via Serial Code/Password
- Check Mystery Gifts
If you have a code that you want to enter, you need to choose the second option and simply enter and confirm the code. You will find your Mystery Gift under the last item in the previous view.
Note: You need an active internet connection for this. However, a subscription is not required – you only need a Nintendo Account.
For all these gifts, you don’t need a subscription. If you are quick after the release, you can also secure a special Mega Evolution. However, you will need the subscription for that, which might be worthwhile for many: If you grind fast enough, you can receive a limited-time Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but you need a subscription for that.
