In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, there are codes that allow you to secure free items through Mystery Gifts. You can learn everything you need to know here.
What Mystery Gifts are currently available? Through Mystery Gifts, you can snag various items and Pokémon for free on different occasions. Some require codes, while others can simply be secured via your internet connection.
The following Mystery Gifts are currently available:
- No code: Project M, Mewtwo X, Mewtwo Y
- Completion of the main campaign required
- No code: Diancite Stone with Extra Mission
- Through a Mystery Gift, you will receive the Diancite Stone and the Extra Mission “Shine Bright like a Gemstone”. With this stone, you can also help Diancite achieve a Mega Evolution.
Please note that you need an existing internet connection for the gifts, and they can only be redeemed once. You will receive the individual codes via email at your purchase.

Entering codes – How to receive the Mystery Gifts
When can you get Mystery Gifts? You unlock the feature after you talk to Magnolia for the first time in the third main quest. This takes about an hour of gameplay, unless you stray from the path.
How to redeem codes? Access the menu using the X button. Then you go to the “Multiplayer/Online” section and find the “Mystery Gift” field there.
In that section, you will have the following options:
- Receive via internet
- Receive via serial code/password
- Check Mystery Gifts
If you have a code that you want to enter, you need to select the second option and simply enter and confirm the code. You will find your Mystery Gift under the last item in the previous view.
Warning: You need an existing internet connection for this. However, a subscription is not required – you just need a Nintendo Account.
For all these gifts, you don’t need a subscription. If you are quick after the release, you can also secure a special Mega Evolution. However, for that, you need the subscription, which could be worthwhile for many: If you grind quickly enough, you can obtain a time-limited Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but for that, you need a subscription
