Entering Codes – How to Obtain Mystery Gifts
When can you receive Mystery Gifts? You unlock the feature after you first speak with Magnolia in the third main quest. You need about an hour of gameplay unless you stray off the path.
How to redeem codes? Access the menu using the X button. Then, go to the “Multiplayer/Online” section and find the “Mystery Gift” field.
There you will have the option to choose the following:
- Receive via Internet
- Receive via Serial Code/Password
- Check Mystery Gifts
If you have a code that you want to enter, you need to select the second option and simply enter and confirm the code. You can find your Mystery Gift under the last item in the previous view.
Note: You need an active internet connection for this. A subscription is not required – you only need a Nintendo account.
For all these gifts, you do not need a subscription. If you’re quick after release, you can also secure a special Mega Evolution. However, that requires a subscription, which may be worth it for many: If you grind fast enough, you can obtain a limited-time Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but you need a subscription for that
