The What If
series deals with possible scenarios that would have occurred if other significant Marvel plots had changed. In No. 4 of the series, the question of whom the symbiote Venom would have taken as a host if he had killed Peter Parker is explored.
In the comic, the alien monster goes through a few heroes and eventually lands on Thor. The Fantastic Four and other heroes try to stop him as evil Thor. Venom-Thor flees, but is visited by Black Bolt in a cave.
The leader of the Inhumans was called by Reed Richards and uses his powerful voice ability to defeat Venom in Thor’s body (along with Mjölnir), showing that he could indeed match Thor. For Venom, however, it would probably be best if he stayed with Peter or Eddie Brock, as this story demonstrates.
