Even though Hercules has only appeared in a post-credit scene in the MCU so far, he has been part of the Marvel Universe since 1966. In Thor No. 126, he fought Thor. Both had their eyes on Jane Foster and, as adult superheroes do, they settled it in battle.
Both fought evenly throughout the city, destroying much property of others in the process. Hercules ultimately defeated Thor, even though there were other forces at play. Odin was angry with his son and stripped him of half of his powers. Hercules reveled in his victory and enjoyed the great attention of the people who had witnessed him defeat the God of Thunder.
