Blizzard has planned the Warlock as a new class for three games: Diablo 2, Diablo 4, and Diablo Immortal. Two of them already have him, and now the Warlock is coming to the mobile version. However, he appears much crazier in the new trailer than we know him so far.
For the 30th anniversary of the series, a big update for Diablo 2: Resurrected came completely out of nowhere along with the announcement that the Warlock will appear as a new class for the three current Diablo titles.
Diablo 2 received the Warlock on the same day, and he appeared in Diablo 4 with Lord of Hatred. On June 17, the Warlock will finally come to Diablo Immortal, and Blizzard has revealed a new cinematic trailer for that.
However, this casts a somewhat different light on the class. Instead of someone who knows how dangerous the powers of hell can really be, the Warlock here seems more like a total fanatic:
Diablo 4 shows: Demons are not pets
Anyone who has played the Warlock in Diablo 4 knows that making pacts with demons and the plan to enslave them should be approached with utmost caution. Because the quest line shows that one can quickly lose control if one is not careful. Accordingly, the Warlock in Diablo 4 appears cautious in behavior.
In Diablo Immortal, the other side comes to light, even in the skills. While the classes in the three parts seem to be related with imposing hellfire, burning chains, and demons, the skills shown in the trailer look completely different from what you already know from Diablo 2 and Diablo 4.
This is also noted by a user on YouTube, who states: “Nice to see that every Warlock is completely different, even though they share the same impression.” Thematically, this also fits, as Diablo Immortal takes place directly after Diablo 2, but well before Diablo 4.
We already know that the Warlock in Diablo 4 can be extremely complex, even if he is not considered the strongest class. How much easier or harder the Warlock in Diablo Immortal will be to play remains to be seen.
At least the Warlock variant from Diablo 2 is significantly stronger, although not with as many customization options as in Diablo 4. However, there are some pretty absurd builds here: Players find immortality in Diablo 2 because the new Warlock has the perfect bodyguards
