The rumors around the release of Trailer 3 for GTA 6 are getting louder, but the boss reveals now whether there is a nasty surprise.
What’s happening with GTA 6? There is much speculation among GTA 6 fans whether the new trailer for GTA 6 will be released today, Monday, May 18, 2026. There were some hints last week, as a dealer had called for his sales partners in an email to start promoting to customers from Monday.
However, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick remained completely silent about the date for Trailer 3. After all, he revealed whether we can definitely play GTA 6 in 2026 or whether a nasty surprise awaits all players at the end of Trailer 3.

No nasty surprise
Is the date set? According to the Take-Two boss, we will definitely be able to play GTA 6 in 2026. In an interview with renowned podcaster David Senra, he revealed that the game will officially be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
During the interview, Zelnick also addressed the speculations about the delays of the game. He revealed that the current schedule is about 18 months behind the original internal plans. This also aligns with the release date at the end of 2026, as GTA 6 was originally supposed to be released in May 2025.
Zelnick explained: “We haven’t significantly exceeded the original schedule, but it is definitely about a year and a half delayed.” No matter when the third trailer for GTA 6 is released, there should not be a new date causing a nasty surprise in the end.
On the contrary: fans currently assume that the third trailer will initiate the pre-orders and also properly kick off the advertising campaign for the open-world game.
GTA 6 will be released in 2026, no matter when the third trailer and the advertising campaign starts. Why everyone believes May 18 is the release date for the trailer, you can find out in this article: GTA 6 Preorder Leak: An email makes players hope that Trailer 3 is just around the corner
