After an eternity without news, there is finally a sign of life from Elder Scrolls 6 – even if it’s just rumors. Allegedly, it’s going to an already known province, and in the MMORPG of the universe, you can visit now.
What’s new about Elder Scrolls 6? The Verge published an article on October 29, 2026, presenting alleged plans for the announcement of The Elder Scrolls 6. Allegedly, it could happen as early as November 2026, and we will finally get new information about the highly anticipated Skyrim successor. And on Instagram, Bethesda is now also fueling the rumors.
According to The Verge’s informants, the next game is supposed to be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Sentinel is one of the largest kingdoms of the province of Hammerfell and directly borders Skyrim, High Rock, and Cyrodiil. If that’s true, and Hammerfell is the new setting for Elder Scrolls 6, players will venture into familiar fields:
Hammerfell is one of the most visited provinces of the in-game continent Tamriel and also one of the largest. It is partially the setting for The Elder Scrolls 1: Arena, The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, and the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. So if you want to get a first taste now, you can log in and explore directly, and MeinMMO even has a map for you.
Traveling through Hammerfell online
Hammerfell itself is now fully available in the base game: A few months ago, Bethesda announced that they would gradually make the originally paid expansions available to all players. Currently, the content from Skyrim is being implemented step by step as part of the second season.
In The Elder Scrolls Online, the MMORPG of the universe, parts of Hammerfell are open to be explored, including the allegedly titular city of Sentinel itself: It’s part of the region of the Alik’r Desert and is located in the northern part of the area.
It should be noted that ESO takes place in the second era of Tamriel. However Hammerfell is presented in the online game, it doesn’t have to look that way in The Elder Scrolls 6. The second era takes place about 1,000 years before Skyrim, and when the next game will be set on the timeline is still unknown.
However, if you still want to get a taste, you can head directly to Sentinel and get to know the city. There are also several towns, villages, and points of interest in the Alik’r Desert. Additionally, you can visit the Bangkorai region in the northern part of the desert. It borders High Rock and is home to Bretons.
South of Bangkorai lies Craglorn, a zone once optimized for four-player groups. It borders Skyrim to the east and Cyrodiil to the south. The southern peninsula Hew_s Bane is also explorable. In its capital Abah’land, you can find the Thieves Guild in the game. The island group of Stros M’Kai, located in the Abecean Sea, is also in the MMORPG. Here, the Daggerfall Covenant, one of the three factions you can join in ESO, has its headquarters.
We have embedded the official map of Hammerfell here and marked what can currently be visited in ESO:

Hammerfell as a new province in Elder Scrolls 6? Here’s what to expect
Hammerfell is one of two provinces in the west of Skyrim. It borders on High Rock and the Imperial province of Cyrodiil. Due to the very dry climate and barren landscape, most cities here are located on the coast.
In the north, the Dragontail Mountains bordering Skyrim confine the landmass; in the south, the Abekäischen Sea forms the natural border. Between them are hundreds of square kilometers of forested mountains, subtropical grasslands, wetlands, rivers, and the uninhabitable and ruin-filled Alik’r Desert.
As the Nords call Skyrim home, Hammerfell is the home of the Redguards, a subrace of humans. They originally hail from the continent of Yokuda, from which they had to flee during an invasion in the First Era.
Hammerfell has now been their new home for centuries, where they have had to share at least temporarily with the Dwemer as well as the other human races of the Nedes and Keptu and giant goblins. During the time of Skyrim the Orsimer, the Orcs from The Elder Scrolls, also live in Hammerfell.
Here, people also believe in the eight gods of Tamriel, although the Redguards still worship their old gods from Yokuda. The cult of the Daedric Princes is also likely represented in Hammerfell.
Sentinel, the city-state that probably gives The Elder Scrolls 6 its title, is one of the largest settlements in Hammerfell and the capital of the province of the same name. In addition, there are larger coastal cities like Rihad, Taneth, Hegathe, and Gilane, as well as the northern settlements of Dragonstar, Skaven, and Elinhir.
Whether we will really go to Hammerfell and Sentinel in The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently uncertain. Even Bethesda’s newest Instagram post does not show a desert or even humid marshes, but a frosty door with lanterns held by ravens.
Since the last setting of the main series, Skyrim, has been quite frosty and borders Hammerfell, this could also be the metaphorical, but still closed door towards Hammerfell. Let’s hope it opens soon. MeinMMO editor Sophia Weiß is definitely hyped and hopes to finally learn more about the mysterious Dwemer: The dwarves from Skyrim have been wiped out like by Thanos, and soon we can explore their last city in ESO
