On July 28, a new patch for Diablo 4 will be released, fixing a bug that currently causes a significant imbalance among classes. For many, the highlight will likely be a change in the description of a recipe.
What changes on July 28: For the upcoming patch, Blizzard has released the patch notes. Two changes stand out in particular:
- A bug with Hunters is being fixed, which caused “Darting” to deal significantly more damage than expected.
- The name of the Horadric Cube recipe for crafting mythical items has been changed from “Upgrade” to “Crafting.”
You can find the complete patch notes on page 2.
By changing that one word, Blizzard is likely ensuring that players no longer accidentally sacrifice their best items, as has been the case up to now.
The current description has led some players to believe that they were simply making a better version of the same item from the item they put into the cube. Instead, the item is completely re-rolled, and you receive a random Mythic for the same slot.
With the new Mythic system, there are indeed some problems. Particularly regarding crafting, Blizzard has announced further changes. For example, a real item upgrade will be introduced in Season 15, which upgrades a corresponding item instead of creating a new one.
Hunters dominate Season 14, Blizzard fixes the bug
The second major change concerns Hunters, who are currently the strongest class by far in the leaderboards of Diablo 4.
According to helltides.com, the top 1-10 strongest players are all Hunters, while the class in the Pit is nearly 3 times as fast as the second strongest class (Spiritborn) at level 150. Other classes, like Necromancers and Paladins, do not even make it to this level. The same applies in the Tower.
There have been repeated reports in the community about Hunters who, even in groups, just stood in activities and could oneshot everything even at the highest difficulties, often without the opponents even being “truly” visible.
What do you think of the changes? Have you also accidentally sacrificed a Mythic? Which class are you playing – and how do you find the balance currently? Let us know in a comment!
After a rocky start, Diablo 4 has slowly reached a good point with Season 14, according to players. In particular, the Mythic system has long been criticized but seems to finally be fun after several weeks of polishing: Blizzard brings the best “bug” back to Diablo 4, ensuring guaranteed Mythics
