With a new hotfix, Blizzard addresses one of the biggest issues in Season 14 of Diablo 4. A frustrating limit on equipment items has been completely removed.
What limit was frustrating? With Season 14, Blizzard has revamped the Mythics in Diablo 4. This includes that “mythic” is no longer a rarity tier, but a mutable item quality. Every Unique can become mythic using fragments of madness at the Horadrim cube.
The problem: Such self-crafted Mythics received a mark, and you could equip only one of them. This also applied to Mythics that you had made at the blacksmith. Thus, one of the best players played through the Hardcore-SSF mode completely without Mythics and stated that the new system was a failure.
After heavy criticism, Blizzard has now lifted this restriction.
Patch removes limit for crafted Mythics, increases drop rates
What was specifically fixed? With the hotfix from July 16, 2026, for Battle.net, the equipment restriction for crafted Mythics has been completely removed.
The Horadrim cube has also been adjusted: Blizzard eliminated the crafting of mythic rerolls and replaced it with a direct upgrade to “Mythic”. The update for consoles is expected to follow later today (Source: Blizzard Forum).
Additionally, the drop rates for Mythics from the Corrupted Soul Harvester have been increased. Another patch is planned for the coming week.
You can find the detailed patch notes on page 2 of this article.
What does the patch bring for next week? Blizzard has announced the next update in the forum for the upcoming week, so far without a specific date. This will expand the repeatable seasonal chests with Great Hideout Keys. Furthermore, the drop rate for mythic tribute in the Kurast Under City will be increased.
On Reddit, the adjustments have been received well so far. Some players even report that they have already been able to loot several of the legendary Mythics since the hotfix. Many are now hoping that Blizzard has finally adjusted the system to meet the community’s expectations.
Whether the changes will solve the problems of the new “Mythic 3.0” system remains to be seen. Besides the drop rates, crafting at the Horadrim cube has recently come under criticism. Many players accidentally destroyed their items because they did not read the descriptions correctly.
