Slowly, the release for everyone is approaching, as there are only about 3 and a half hours left until the planned start.
Anyone starting today for the first time can also download the game in advance.
Given the game size of over 100 GB and some rather moderately fast internet connections here in Germany, you can use the time until the server opening well to download the game.

If you’re starting for the first time today, you should take a look at the EU servers beforehand. There will be some fresh ones at launch, with which you can start with like-minded players and not have to settle for players from early access.

Good morning everyone! All early risers have probably already noticed: The servers of Aion 2 have been offline for a while now. We have to kill time until 3 PM now. Our strategy: ticker, talk, and work!

How long are the servers offline? On Steam, the developers of Aion 2 explain that maintenance started on October 5, 2026, at 7:00 AM CEST and is expected to last about 8 hours.
If all goes according to plan, you should be able to wreak havoc in Atreia again starting around 3:00 PM CEST. However, there were some delays during the early access launch. MeinMMO is keeping an eye on the servers for you and will keep you updated.
When exactly is the free-to-play release? All players without a founder package can access the servers at the end of the maintenance. Planned, therefore, from today at 3:00 PM, if everything goes smoothly.
Aion 2: Patch notes for the release on October 5, 2026
As part of the maintenance, NCSoft will implement a range of improvements on the servers:
Improvements
- The requirements for deleting a character will change.
- The waiting time for character deletion will be reduced from 168 hours to 24 hours.
- The minimum level required to delete a character will change from level 10 to level 1.
- The waiting time before being redirected to the server selection screen if no input is made will be adjusted from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
- The duration of in-game announcements will change from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.
- Improvements will be made to enable smoother interaction with objects required for quest progress.
- Some objects will no longer disappear, and the respawn time for others will be shortened.
- The stats of some bosses will be adjusted, as they are currently set too low for the intended difficulty of a five-player group.
Bug fixes
- A problem where characters occasionally returned to their previous position when approaching other players during a quest using the “autonavigation” feature will be fixed.
- A bug that affected the use of content under “Journal – Duties” will be fixed.
- Please note the following information until the bug fix is implemented.
- If you open the “Duties” tab in the journal before you reach level 45, you will not be able to access that content immediately after reaching level 45; it will only be available starting the next day.
- If you do not check the “Duties” tab before you reach level 45, you can access this content immediately after reaching level 45.
- The issue where the entry “Content” under “Settings > Key Settings > Menu List” was displayed multiple times will be resolved.
- A problem where players could not continue subsequent quests as usual if the client was closed during an ongoing quest will be fixed.
- An improvement will be made so that players can teleport to Verteron or Altgard even if they cannot travel there during the hero quests of Poeta and Ishalgen.
- This teleport option will appear as a button in the quest display.
