If you’re starting today for the first time, you should take a look at the EU servers in advance. There will be some fresh ones at launch, with which you can start with like-minded players instead of having to settle for players from early access.

Good morning everyone! Early risers have probably already noticed: The servers of Aion 2 have been offline for a little while now. We need to kill time until 3 PM. Our strategy: ticking, talking, and working!
Speaking of talking: Karsten will be starting at 10:00 AM on GameStar Talk to discuss Aion 2. The fantastic Entenburg will also be there as a guest. You can follow the spectacle on Twitch.
How long will the servers be offline? On Steam, the developers of Aion 2 explain that maintenance started on October 5, 2026, at 7:00 AM and is expected to last about 8 hours.
If everything goes according to plan, you should be able to wreak havoc in Atreia again starting around 3:00 PM. However, there were some delays last time. MeinMMO will keep an eye on the servers and keep you updated.
When exactly is the free-to-play release? All players without a founder package can access the servers at the end of maintenance. This is scheduled for today at 3:00 PM, if everything goes smoothly.
Aion 2: Patch Notes for the Release on October 5, 2026
During the maintenance, NCSoft will implement a number of improvements on the servers:
Improvements
- The requirements for deleting a character will change.
- The waiting period for character deletion will be reduced from 168 hours to 24 hours.
- The minimum level required to delete a character will change from level 10 to level 1.
- The waiting time before being redirected to the server selection screen if no input is made will change from 30 minutes to 3 hours.
- The duration of in-game announcements will change from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.
- Improvements will be made to allow smoother interaction with objects required for quest progression.
- Some objects will no longer disappear, and the respawn time for others will be reduced.
- The stats of some bosses will be adjusted as they are currently set too low for the intended difficulty of a five-player group.
Bug Fixes
- A problem that prevented players from continuing subsequent quests as usual when the client was closed during an active quest will be fixed.
- There will be an improvement to allow players to teleport to Verteron or Altgard even if they cannot travel there during the hero quests of Poeta and Ishalgen.
- This teleport option will appear as a button in the quest display.

- A problem where characters occasionally returned to their previous position when approaching other players during a quest with the “Auto Navigation” function will be fixed.
- A bug affecting the use of content under “Journal – Duties” will be fixed.
- Until the bug fix is implemented, please pay attention to the following information.
- If you open the “Duties” tab in the Journal before reaching level 45, you will not be able to access this content immediately after reaching level 45; it will only be available the next day.
- If you do not check the “Duties” tab before reaching level 45, you will have access to this content immediately after reaching level 45.
- The issue where the “Content” entry under “Settings > Key Mapping > Menu List” was displayed multiple times will be fixed.
- A problem that prevented players from continuing subsequent quests as usual when the client was closed during an active quest will be fixed.
