A gamer wants to know why you still “waste money on a PC” when you can just buy a PS5 for 500 euros

Why should one invest a lot of money in a gaming PC? This is something a user wants to know, who has spent his whole life on a console.

A player reports on Reddit that he had to have a serious conversation with a colleague. According to him, this person has spent his entire life on a console and has never played on a PC.

When he wants to look at a new monitor, his colleague asks him: “Dude, why are you spending so much money on that? A PS5 costs about 500 dollars and it runs everything.”

The user himself replies that he would use his computer for many tasks, including work, for emulation, modifying games, for the Game Pass, and he can access Steam and thousands of games.

But instead of being convinced by his arguments, the colleague just responds: “Yes, but you could just connect a PS5 to your TV.”

PC or Console: In the end, it mainly depends on your circumstances

Depending on what your circumstances are, either a console or a computer can be the better option for you:

If you want to get started with minimal effort and don’t want to deal with drivers or compatibility, a console is often the better choice. This is also true if you buy only a few games per year and prefer to play with a controller.

While a computer may be significantly more expensive in comparison, it can pay off in the long run if you buy many games or play a lot online. After all, the strong discounts on Steam or the free multiplayer offset the initial purchase price.

For many, the console is often the better decision, especially if the total budget is limited and gaming just needs to “work.”
