At first glance, it might seem a bit surprising that a small dagger ranks first on this list. Strictly speaking, it isn’t even a sword. But the Valyrian dagger is so legendary that we can overlook this and consider it a small sword.
No other object has shaped the history of Game of Thrones as much as this dagger with its dragonbone grip. It was the one used by the assassin who attempted to murder the young Bran Stark in bed – an event that truly set the War of the Five Kings in motion. For years, it changed hands, from Petyr Baelish to Ned Stark and finally to Arya.
In the Battle of Winterfell, the dagger then fulfilled its true purpose. With exactly this weapon, Arya delivered the fatal blow to the Night King, thus ending the war against the White Walkers and saving all of humanity. It doesn’t get more legendary than that. This was part of a prophecy given to the Targaryen rulers for many generations, alongside the dagger.
