WoW patch starts Wednesday – New raid, more power and a bit of pride

The next patch of World of Warcraft starts in a few days. There is much to do – the high pace remains unchanged.

World of Warcraft faced a lot of criticism after patch 12.0.5, as a large part of the content appeared to be unfinished and needed further improvements. Now the next update is coming, patch 12.0.7 “Revelations”. This patch is again full of new content that we want to briefly introduce to you here.

When will the patch be released? Patch 12.0.7 “Revelations” launches on 17.06.2026, which is next Wednesday. As usual, the patch goes live on the American realms one day earlier.

The highlights from Revelations

A brief overview of the biggest innovations coming in patch 12.0.7:

• 2 mini-zones are added: Val and Naigtal, which are also available on heroic difficulty.
• The Omniumfoliant grants new powers that apply across all of Midnight.
• The raid Sporefall introduces a new boss that changes the rules of mythic raids.
• The lesson search gets a new chapter about the trolls and the Loa.
• Housing now allows more outdoor decorations and finally light sources in the garden.
• The event “Turbulent Timeways” returns (starting June 30).
• There is a new story campaign about Zul’jan (starting July 7).

Val and Naigtal end the Void’s attacks

Since patch 12.0.5, the Void’s attacks have been raging in Quel’Thalas and Zul’aman. The bosses of these attacks have not been defeated so far, but that is now changing. We will travel to Val and Naigtal, two once-vibrant worlds now overrun by the Void. Here we will take down the leaders.

New is that there is also a heroic game mode for the open world. Those who want more challenges will find them here and can earn better rewards.

However, you still need a group for the world bosses – as there are new ones.

Omniumfoliant brings more power

Controversial but unstoppable is the introduction of the Omniumfoliant. Here you can unlock new powers week by week that will strengthen your character throughout Midnight. This is a contentious ‘Borrowed Power’ system, but in all likelihood, it will lead to raids, dungeons, and depths becoming a bit easier.

So if you still have goals, like a certain rating in “Mythic+”, you should try again after unlocking all bonuses.

New campaign for the further story

A bit later, on July 7, a new story questline focusing on the troll Zul’jan and the Haranir will start. We don’t want to reveal the exact contents of the quests yet, but it will seamlessly transition into the story of the next, larger patch. If you already have a faint idea that it will be about trolls, you are probably right.

Also new in patch 12.0.7 is a new micro-holiday inspired by the community. The “Darkspear Run” is inspired by the community event “Running of the Trolls” and is now being established as a fixed part of the game. Just like the gnome race before it, it has finally become an official part of Azeroth and is likely to bring many troll characters racing across Azeroth on June 27.

What else is in patch 12.0.7?

Finally, here are some small details that many will be pleased about:

• The outdoor limit for housing decorations increases from 250 to 350 and lights can be placed.
• In the oversupply event, you can now use multiple Dundun cores at the same time.
• You can help hatch new eggs of the Loa Jan’alai.
• Repair costs will be lowered for all, so that warriors are no longer disadvantaged.
• There is now an achievement for everyone who completes the journey of the treasure hunter in Season 1.
• Weekly quests and depth quests now give much more XP, significantly speeding up leveling.
• Ritual sites receive a new 6th difficulty level with better rewards.
