Within less than an hour, the race in WoW Classic Anniversary was already over. The new bosses in The Burning Crusade fell quickly.
In the meantime, discussions about whether World of Warcraft Classic in its various versions is the harder game have fortunately largely subsided. The raids are not as challenging as in modern WoW, and this can easily be seen in how quickly well-prepared groups rush through the content – just like now on the “Anniversary” servers of The Burning Crusade Classic.
After only 58 minutes, all bosses of the Tempest Keep and the Serpent Shrine were defeated (warcraftlogs).
2 Raids completed in under an hour
Which guild achieved this? The guild “Progress” lived up to its name and might even need the little name addition “Turbo.” For only 58 minutes and 51 seconds after the realms started, the guild managed not only to defeat the 6 bosses of the Serpent Shrine but also the four bosses of the Tempest Keep – including the notoriously long fight against Kael’thas Sunstrider.
His legacy plays an important role in modern WoW, as a statue of the prince has appeared in Midnight and some even suspect that he is pulling some strings in the background.
Why was it so fast? Unlike entirely new content in World of Warcraft Midnight, the raids and bosses from the old expansions, like The Burning Crusade, are known almost down to the last detail. Additionally, the bosses at that time had significantly fewer abilities and therefore do not possess the complexity of modern boss fights.
You can see the complete adventure of the guild Progress in the following video from the perspective of one of the members:
Experienced groups, like the guild “Progress,” prepare meticulously for the upcoming raids and in such a comprehensive way that they can basically set off perfectly and send all bosses to the ground without the slightest error.
Cortyn says: Although it no longer surprises anyone that the “ultra-hard” raids in the Classic versions are defeated on the first day, I am always amazed at how quickly groups manage to whip through new content. When I compare that to my raid group, we would maybe, with a bit of luck, have arrived at the second boss after 58 minutes, because three people got lost, one already needs a second break and our raid leader once again accidentally pressed the Alt+F4 key combination.
Are you playing the Anniversary version of The Burning Crusade Classic? Have you checked out and completed the “new old” raids yet? Or are you taking your time and waiting for the next few weeks before tackling the bosses?
Meanwhile, a Classic+ is currently high on the discussion agenda, as Blizzard may announce something soon…
