We have known for years that Henry Cavill will play the lead role in the series about Warhammer 40,000 – but which one that will be has not been officially announced yet. MeinMMO puts forward the most likely candidates and explains who these special individuals are.
After new information about the Warhammer series has recently surfaced, and we now even know that Cavill is working on two series about Warhammer 40,000, discussions are (once again) ongoing in the community about who the actor will actually portray.
The role that Cavill has long been associated with is, of course, the Emperor of Mankind himself, and somehow it would be fitting, after all Big E has just recently made a move and caused a stir.
Although the actor has not ruled out the role so far, it seems unlikely that Games Workshop will solve this mystery about the series. So, who else might Cavill play?

Possible role for Henry Cavill in Warhammer 40,000, Option 1: Commissar Ciaphas Cain

- What would such a series look like? More comedic, almost slapstick
- Probability of the role: very low, but not impossible
Ciaphas Cain is one of the most well-known characters in Warhammer 40,000 and boasts a remarkable series of 11 books plus some short stories. As a Commissar, he belongs to one of the most dangerous organizations in the Imperium and is feared by allies at least as much as by his enemies… in theory.
Because the stories often employ a rather dry, British humor with Cain in a role that often succeeds more through luck than skill. In the community, the books are seen more as funny entertainment than as works of “grimdark.”
While particularly recent discussions frequently bring up Ciaphas Cain as a possible role for Henry Cavill, the probability of this role in one of the two series is rather low. The main point for this is that Cain is always described as extremely handsome with a prominent chin, fitting Cavill’s stature and appearance. However, since Games Workshop currently emphasizes authentic representation of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a slapstick series would be counterproductive.
