Sometimes luck is an important factor in Pokémon GO. This can also make an already rare monster even more valuable – as is the case here.
For many trainers, the hunt for rare monsters ideally with perfect IV values (“Hundos”) is a major incentive of the game. You can help with this by trading already rare monsters with a guaranteed lucky trade with other trainers. This way, your monsters not only have a minimum of already good IV values but also an increased chance of becoming a Hundo.
A couple did this, as the man reports on Reddit. And in doing so, they received one of the rarest monsters as a Hundo – both of them.
“Lucky Trade of a Lifetime”
Which monsters did the two trade? As can be seen in the image of the post on Reddit, the two trainers traded each other a Dakuma. The author of the post notes that his wife is very dedicated to working on a Lucky Dex. This is a Pokédex variant where you collect all monsters as lucky monsters.
While the guaranteed lucky trade, as the name suggests, ensures that both trainers receive a lucky Pokémon, these two still had extreme luck. They not only received good but both directly perfect IV values. Thus, they can rejoice that they both got a Hundo-Dakuma.
What is special about the monster? It is particularly notable that it is Dakuma. Because you cannot normally catch this monster in the game. All active trainers received during the season “Mighty and Masterful” a research task in which they received a Dakuma as a reward.
For $8, you also had the opportunity at that time to obtain another research task to add a second Dakuma to your collection. There were no other ways to obtain the monster. While most trainers thus received exactly 1 Dakuma, you can have a maximum of 2 specimens in your possession that you can trade.
This limitation makes the trade of the two trainers even rarer and more special. The trainer who created the post on Reddit aptly titled the post “Lucky Trade of a Lifetime?”.
