World of Warcraft is in a better place than ever before. At least that’s what one person who needs to say that thinks: The Game Director. But is it true?
In recent days, there have been a lot of interviews surrounding World of Warcraft. Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has answered many questions, including some about role-playing and the content flood. The colleagues from GameStar grilled him with questions. But other magazines have also asked exciting questions to which the head of WoW has responded. He believes that there has never been a better time to start playing World of Warcraft than now.
Where does the statement come from? The interview was conducted a few days ago with the magazine PCGamesN. The corresponding quotes in this article come from there.
What did Hazzikostas say? The interview focused a lot on the current state of the game as a whole and the new features, such as housing, but also the development of the depths and the overhaul of older areas. The most important statement is that Hazzikostas believes the game now offers something for every type of player because he says:
It’s a game you can play solo, it’s a game you can play with a large group of friends. We haven’t moved away from that and created something entirely new, but we’ve expanded and enlarged our focus so that you can find all those things and more.
With an epic story, an improved experience for new players to quickly dive into the latest content, a variety of ways for adventure, progression, collections, decorations, role-playing, PvP, and so on. I believe there’s something for just about everyone in WoW nowadays.
What he is definitely right about: World of Warcraft has a seemingly endless amount of content that appeals to almost every type of player. Those who crave hardcore raids that can only be accomplished with a well-rehearsed group will find it. Those who prefer smaller dungeon adventures with close friends can indulge in Mythic+. Solo players also don’t have to miss out on content, as in addition to all the world content, there are depths as another pillar of endgame (optionally with players together).
Therefore, he also comes to the conclusion: “I’m biased, but I believe there has never been a better time to jump into [WoW] now.”
Cortyn thinks: Even though it’s easy to criticize World of Warcraft – as I often do, especially with the amount of content that leads to burnout or the terrible area Val – I fundamentally agree with the Game Director. WoW has broadened its scope and offers more content for different player groups.
Just the housing has created many new communities and attracted role-playing enthusiasts who otherwise wouldn’t have given WoW a second glance. Whether it’s truly the best time to start is of course debatable. Those looking for a modern WoW can probably quite safely answer “Yes” – but for everyone else, there are also plenty of classic options.
Do you agree with the Game Director of World of Warcraft? Do you also think that the game currently offers incentives for many different types of players and is bigger and better than ever before? Or do you have a different perspective on things?
