In Diablo Immortal, a new class comes to the ARPG that, while being one of the most popular in the series, has fewer friends in Diablo 4.
Which class is it? The developers of Diablo Immortal recently introduced the new Druid class for the game. The Druid is set to join the other classes in the ARPG starting July 3rd and will be playable from then on.
druids are simply part of Diablo and enjoy great popularity among players. This is partly due to the hybrid playstyle that allows switching between human form and animal form.
The use of nature magic and the command over animals also characterize the class in Diablo in general and can be found just like the shapeshifting in Diablo Immortal.
However, in Diablo 4, the class was anything but a fan favorite. Right from the start, it was considered sluggish and inferior to other classes during the leveling phase. Only powerful items in the endgame brought it up to the right level.
The constant switching between forms also disrupted the “power fantasy” of traveling the world as a powerful beast. In addition to balance issues right at the start, some players also had a problem with the choice of body type, which has a strong physique.
Here you see the class in the trailer:
As a Wolf or Bear Against the Enemies
What can the Druid do in Diablo Immortal? As a shapeshifter, the Druid in Diablo Immortal can choose from different forms. The first is the werewolf form, which transforms the character into a fast werewolf that pounces on enemies and can attack them with a series of claw strikes. His attacks can inflict bleeding effects on the opponents.
The second form is the werebear form. The werebear is a tanky fellow who stuns nearby enemies and is more resistant to incoming damage and abilities. The bear is not as agile as the wolf, but its attacks are more powerful and deal AOE damage and knockback.
In addition to shapeshifting, the Druid can also summon three different allied wild animals into battle. The wolf and the bear are similarly capable as their were-forms and also have corresponding attacks. Added to that are the Oak Wisps, who can shoot projectiles at enemies and explode on command to deal additional damage and immobilize foes.
In his normal form, the Druid can cast nature magic, including attacking enemies with fire tornadoes that also pull them in. As another ability, he has access to an earthquake that deals area damage and sends enemies flying. All attacks and effects are explained by the developers on Blizzard.com.
Although the Druid was not a popular class in Diablo 4, the class in Diablo Immortal sounds exactly like what fans would expect from a true Druid. How the class plays can be discovered by all players starting July 3, 2025. Until then, you might be interested in this manga: Diablo 4 is collaborating with the manga that inspired Dark Souls
