Aion 2 is set to be released in September 2026. That much is clear. Instead of officially revealing the exact date, the NCSoft representatives have accidentally published the date on their in-house Purple platform.
When is the release supposed to be? On most official NCSoft channels, only “September 2026” is mentioned. The only exception: the in-house Purple Launcher of the Korean publisher. There it says that Aion 2 will be released on September 16th or 17th, 2026.
Why two dates? The info comes from various players on, for example, Reddit, who are apparently in different time zones. The global launch will happen simultaneously. In some countries, it will still be September 16th, while in others it will already be September 17th.
During the Summer Game Fest 2026, NCSoft only revealed that Aion 2 is set to be released globally for PC in September 2026. Here is the trailer:
Hot September, not just because of Aion 2
How likely is the date? We wouldn’t book a vacation for that week without an official confirmation from NCSoft yet. The date could also just be a placeholder. On the other hand, the dates do fit with the announcement that the MMORPG is set to release in September …
Moreover, we do not expect a last-minute delay, as Aion 2 has been playable in its home market for some time and has already received several updates there. Quite the opposite, it is unlikely to be long before NCSoft ramps up its marketing strategy and finally reveals more information about the western version of the MMORPG.
