In recent months, the streamer “fanfan” has gained increasing popularity on Twitch. Some viewers claimed that the 24-year-old is likely a millionaire. In a recent stream, she explained what her earnings really look like.
What kind of streamer is she? Fiona “fanfan” has been streaming regularly on Twitch since 2020 and is primarily active in the “Just Chatting” category. However, she also showcases games like Valorant and GTA 5.
Currently, fanfan has just over 240,000 followers on Twitch, of whom an average of around 4,800 watched her streams in the last 7 days (via SullyGnome, as of February 19, 2024).
With such numbers, the streamer must surely be a millionaire by now, right? At least that is what some fans of the 24-year-old seemed to think, who referred to her as a millionaire in the stream. The comments prompted fanfan to talk about her actual earnings.
“Thank God I earn enough money and don’t have to work much”
This is how much the streamer earns: In a stream from mid-February, fanfan explains that she earns about $150,000 a year. This is nearly €140,000. It is not “millionaire money,” as she puts it.
The 24-year-old clarifies, however, that she is by no means dissatisfied with her earnings: “I love it. I am blessed, you know. Thank God I earn enough money and don’t have to work much. I just sit here and watch my videos and play games.”
Viewers would see that the “top 3 streamers” earn $35,000 with a single sponsor deal and assume that this applies to everyone, according to fanfan. However, she herself could not find a sponsor for 6 months at all. When it finally happened, the deal only amounted to about $3,000 to $5,000.
“I’m not saying that’s bad. I’m really happy. I’m not complaining, but I also don’t understand others who complain or claim that I am a millionaire,” says fanfan. The streamer concludes the topic by pointing out that the vast majority of streamers are not millionaires.
The clip is no longer available on Twitch, but can still be found in the streaming subreddit r/LivestreamFail.
It should be noted, however, that fanfan has experienced strong growth in recent months: she was able to gain more than a third of her followers in the past 90 days. During this period, the number of her average viewers also increased by over 180% (via SullyGnome, as of February 19, 2024).
So it could very well be that the numbers look quite different when she talks about her earnings next time.
The Luxembourgish streamer LetsHugo also recently provided a glimpse into his finances, sparking discussions among some viewers: One of the biggest streamers on German Twitch talks about his earnings: “He earns more than my whole family”
