Recently, a store for board and card games has received numerous negative reviews due to a lack of hygiene. Therefore, the game store must now take drastic measures.
What is the problem? Chronos Games & Gifts is a store in the USA that specializes in board, card, and tabletop games. Recently, there have been several negative reviews concerning a lack of hygiene.
An example is User Tristan Kallberg, who left only one out of five stars about a month ago:
This store urgently needs a rule: “No shower, no deodorant, no service.” When I first came in, the smell was terrible. It literally hits you like a punch in the face as soon as you open the door. The store is actually pretty cool, but my goodness, you must absolutely get this smell problem under control.
The store responded that visitors are asked to pay attention to their personal hygiene. But that doesn’t seem to be enough, as the store has had to take more drastic measures. It turns out: especially players of a well-known card game are not very careful with hygiene.
Yu-Gi-Oh! players smell so much that the store is taking action
What are the consequences? On the official Discord of the store, there is an announcement to all Yu-Gi-Oh! players. The store reports that all local events will be canceled for about a week.
- There have been issues with people improperly using the restrooms.Â
- Another point is the numerous negative reviews regarding a lack of hygiene.
- Players are not adhering to Konami’s guidelines, which is why everyone is encouraged to report such violations.
How are the visitors reacting? On X there are many comments from people identifying themselves as visitors of the store and finding the consequences justified. Some even argue that the measures should actually be much harsher and that the stinky players should be permanently banned.
Some also note that it’s not just Yu-Gi-Oh! players who smell, but also those playing other card games. What are your experiences in this area? Feel free to share in the comments.
A German player in Yu-Gi-Oh! had excessive behavior in the past. Due to his actions, a new rule for official tournaments was actually introduced: In Yu-Gi-Oh! you may only have 60 cards in your deck because a German player went overboard
