At the One Piece Day, two new movies for the anime were announced, coming to theaters. In one of the two films, the Straw Hat Pirates surrounding Monkey D. Luffy suddenly become unimportant.Â
What will the movie be about? As the name “One Piece Film: God Valley” suggests, it will be about the God Valley Incident. This is a major showdown where true legends met. Among them are

The conflict begins with the World Nobles organizing a hunt for humans. As if that weren’t macabre enough, there are even prizes in the form of slaves to be won. However, the main prizes include two Devil Fruits, which will later go to Kuma and Kaido.Â
Such a huge tournament attracts both the Rocks Pirates and the Roger Pirates. Those who cannot be missed at the clash are the Marines, which is why Monkey D. Garp, Luffy’s grandfather, also gets involved.
A major highlight is that even Imu makes an appearance, the supreme commander of the World Government. The movie is set to hit theaters in 2027.

Why won’t we see the Straw Hat Pirates? The God Valley Incident takes place 38 years before the events of One Piece. Since most of the Straw Hat Pirates weren’t even born at that time, we won’t see them in the flashback.
It could at most be that they appear in the introduction or at the end of the film. However, their appearance will probably not last longer than a few seconds or minutes.
What can we expect from the film? Since many legends meet here, who are at their prime, there will be spectacular battles. Many probably missed this in the last film “One Piece Film: Red,” because the focus was clearly on the music.
What does One Piece fan Jasmin think? Although I really liked One Piece Film: Red, I am now looking forward to the new One Piece film. It is one of the longest flashbacks in the manga, but probably also one of the most action-packed battles. It all feels like a chaotic Battle Royale of the best characters, all clashing in a big mess. What more do you need for a good movie?
