The EA Summer Sale is currently running on Steam and there are some really good deals. Among them is the remake of a horror shooter, which is considered one of the best in the genre, and it is 90% off.
Which horror shooter is it? Dead Space was released in 2008. After 15 years, in 2023, the classic received a remake on Steam.
You play as engineer Isaac Clarke and have a mission on the mining ship USG Ishimura, which has been overrun by mutated humans, the Necromorphs. In search of your girlfriend, you must navigate through the dark corridors of the station and, of course, survive.
During the EA Summer Sale, the remake is currently available for 5.99 euros instead of 59.99 euros. This makes it even cheaper than the original on Steam from 2008, which is also discounted. EA’s offer lasts until June 25, 2026.
Both the remake and the original have a 90 percent positive rating on Steam. The remake has a total of 65,000 reviews and the original nearly 29,000.

A true remake and not just new graphics
What has been improved? The remake is not just about enhanced graphics, but includes several new gameplay mechanics, improvements, or additional content.
New features include a talking Isaac, a more cohesive space station, new story elements, side quests, and a damage system where Necromorphs are torn apart layer by layer.
How do players find the remake? The Steam user Naetholix writes in his review that he is already a Dead Space veteran. He initially thought he would just get an enhanced experience of one of his favorites, but he was mistaken and was genuinely surprised.
The many new features may hardly change the core of Dead Space, but they are well thought out and have provided the user with a new experience with the title. He further writes that it feels like he is playing his favorite game for the first time again, and calls it the perfect remake.
Are there any negative points? Yes, in some reviews – like the one from Naetholix – bugs are mentioned, which, although not common, are said to be annoying. Furthermore, the performance on the Steam Deck or Linux is said to be barely acceptable.
In the EA Summer Sale on Steam, there are not just many deals to discover. Hobby detectives have examined the title image more closely and now suspect that it was created with AI.
