In May, Ferkuli awaits you in the Community Day. The Normal-type monster comes from the 9th generation and can evolve into Fragrunz. The evolution has a different appearance depending on its gender.
During the Community Day, the monster appears in large numbers and with strong bonuses such as an increased shiny chance. How to best utilize the event and how to prepare for it has been summarized for you.

When? Saturday, May 9, 2026 – From 2 PM to 5 PM

Additional content for the Community Day: For the Community Day, you can purchase a special research for the event for $1.99 (approximately €2). Here you will get 3 encounters with Ferkuli with a special background, 1 premium battle pass, 1 special candy XL, and additional encounters with Ferkuli. If you purchase the ticket in the Pokémon GO web store, you will also receive 5 Ultra Balls.
If you have a Community Ambassador in your area, you can check in for the event here. This will grant you a limited-time research where you will get encounters with Ferkuli with a special background as well as premium items.
Who is the Community Day with Ferkuli worth it for?
For collectors: If you have not yet received Ferkuli and its evolutions as shiny, then this event is the perfect opportunity for you. Even if you are after monsters with special backgrounds, you should take advantage of the event.
For fighters: Fragrunz is currently not particularly suitable in the battle leagues nor is it among the best attackers in Pokémon GO for raids. Whether the monster will improve in the battle leagues with its new instant attack remains to be seen.
How you should prepare for the Community Day in May 2026
Clear up: You should create enough space to catch many specimens of the monster. If you notice during the event that you still don’t have enough space, then use this simple trick to sort monsters faster.
Gather items: To be able to catch Ferkuli, you need the appropriate balls. Therefore, you should take care of stocking up on enough balls beforehand. Visiting PokéStops and opening gifts are good ways to accomplish this.
If you want to catch more monsters, you can also use incense and lures during the event. Both items ensure that more Ferkuli appear.
If you plan to collect some candies of the monster, you can also use Razz Berries while catching. You will already receive double the amount of candies during the event. With a Razz Berry, you can further increase the bonus and receive even four times the amount of candies per catch.
Which Mega Pokémon are worth it for the event? If you have a suitable Mega Evolution active during the event, you will receive an additional candy for every catch of Ferkuli. Additionally, you will also gain more experience points and may have a higher chance of XL candies if your Mega Evolution is at a high Mega level.
To benefit from these bonuses, you need to have one of the following evolutions active during the event:
- Mega-Pidgeot
- Mega-Kangaskhan
- Mega-Lopunny
- Mega-Heracross
