The two competitive game modes PvP and WvW have not seen a major update in years. In world vs. world, people are already waiting 18 months for the much-anticipated alliance update. However, there has been no news on that in recent months.
Players now hope that the announcement on August 30 will also tell something beyond new areas and the story.
What do players wish for the future? Looking around in the forums and on reddit, players often express their wishes for Living World Season 5.
At the top of the list are new playable races and a visit to the continent of Cantha, which is already known from Guild Wars 1.
While Cantha could be chosen as a destination for new areas, new playable races are rather unlikely. The effort would be enormous, as skins and lore for a new race would need to be adapted.
However, players’ greatest hope is that everything will simply come more regularly. Whether updates for PvE or PvP, for balance, or completely new raids and fractals.
That Guild Wars 2 does many things right is also shown by the map from May. It is still enjoyed:
Pearl Abyss, the developers behind the MMORPG Black Desert, have introduced their major new MMORPG for the time to come. Project CD is set to be the next generation of MMORPGs. It is being developed for the new consoles, likely PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, as well as for PC and Mobile. A release is expected in a few years – Project CD is intended to be a global title.

What kind of new MMORPG is this? The game currently has the working title “Project CD.”
It is supposed to be an AAA title that appeals to players worldwide. Project CD is not based on the “Black Desert” brand. However, Pearl Abyss wants to leverage the experience they gained from Black Desert to develop the new project.
It is said that the game will differ significantly from traditional MMORPGs.
Pearl Abyss stated upon inquiries that they recognized the potential of consoles for the western market with Black Desert.
For Project CD, Pearl Abyss is using the new engine that they plan to use for all future “next-gen” projects. This new engine was already showcased by Pearl Abyss in March 2019. At that time, they announced “Project V,” a casual MMORPG.

The main platform for Project CD is supposed to be “console,” which likely refers to PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox Scarlett. It is possible that Project CD will first be released on consoles. However, Pearl Abyss is also considering releasing the game simultaneously on PC, mobile, and streaming services. The streaming service likely refers to Google’s Stadia.
The goal is to enable crossplay between the platforms.
This is all that Pearl Abyss reveals at the moment. The screenshots in the article are from the new engine that Pearl Abyss will be using.
When is it coming? Pearl Abyss has not yet announced a date. In 2017, when they mentioned that 4 new games were coming, one of the new games was intended for 2021. That could be a possible timeframe. Realistically, it’s likely to be later: 2022 or 2023.

In Blizzard’s video games, it is common in various communities to indulge in a bit of nostalgia. This is also the case with Hearthstone. However, in the case of this screenshot from 2014, players feel sad because many of their hopes and expectations have not been met. It’s about this image:
What is shown in the picture? The photo shows a survey about Hearthstone that players could participate in at BlizzCon 2014. It was about some “potential features” that could be implemented in Hearthstone in the future.
The respondents were to rank these features in order of their interest. The most important on 1, the least important on 6. The following ideas were up for selection:
Replay feature for already played matches
Viewable player profiles (with game statistics, win rates, and the decks played, etc.)
Achievement system
Cooperative game mode (for example, compete against AI with friends)
A tool to plan and conduct tournaments
Cosmetic enhancements (new game boards, emotes, heroes, etc.)
Why are players sad about it? In hindsight, many players are extremely disappointed by this survey, as none of the “potential features” were implemented in Hearthstone. Although the developers worked on a tournament mode, they ultimately discarded it and put it on hold.
Only “new cosmetic enhancements” were released in the form of some new heroes and the typical new game board per expansion.

Why Naldo’s rating could drop: Naldo had a rating of 86 in FIFA 19 and was one of the top defenders in the Bundesliga. He then moved to Ligue 1 with Monaco, where Naldo only made seven appearances—and even got sent off twice.

Why Lukaku’s rating could drop: Romelu Lukaku had a better run than his teammate Sanchez. The Belgian scored 12 goals in 32 games. However, Lukaku has repeatedly found himself in the shadow of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial—and transferred to Inter Milan this summer.

The developers of Ashes of Creation regularly release videos about their progress in the MMORPG. The latest edition focuses on the creation and animation of horses.
What can be seen in the video? The behind-the-scenes look first shows the horse in its raw form. Later it gets muscles, mane, and tail added.

What other mounts will there be? Over the years, the developers have shown pictures of mounts repeatedly. Horses only make up a small part of this, as there are numerous other types available on land.
You will be able to ride bulls, camels, bears, deer, raptors, and many other creatures. Some of them are faster than others.
In addition to land animals, there will also be flying mounts. However, flying is limited to the zones you control. Outside of this zone, flying mounts glide down or walk normally on the ground.
However, there are also special creatures like the hippogryph, which can only glide. Gliding mounts slowly descend but cannot independently fly back up.
How do you get mounts in Ashes of Creation? The ways to obtain a mount are very diverse. Some can be tamed directly in the open world when you encounter them there.

Planning saves time at launch: Of course, planning does not replace actual gameplay, and many of the effects you can probably only truly envision when you experience them in action. However, to outline a rough plan and think about how you want to play your vault hunter, the talent trees will definitely help.
This way, you won’t have to ponder for a long time at the game launch and read skills for hours, but can jump right into the action and focus on what’s most important: shooting and looting.
Experiment a bit with the different builds and find out which combination of talents and skills appeals to you the most.
Fortnite: Battle Royale is currently causing many players to rage with the new mech. A nerf is being demanded. It’s coming now, but differently than the community hoped.
What is the problem with the mech? Currently, one topic is stirring the emotions of many Fortnite players. The new mech B.I.E.S.T. is especially horrifying for tournament players, as it is so incredibly strong that its presence often decides the game. Even world champion Bugha are usually helpless against the B.I.E.S.T.
Therefore, players have been increasingly shouting since the first day of Season 10: “Epic, damn it, finally nerf the mech and best of all, throw it out of the tournament modes completely!”
Mech gets laser as “nerf”, but remains in tournament mode
This is how Epic wants to change the mech: After Epic had suggested multiple times that they were working on a nerf, the cat is now out of the bag. The mech will remain available in all modes and will receive an adjustment for various glitches that currently allow it to fly across the map.
Additionally, a new mechanic will make a laser target indicator appear where the mech will soon unleash its devastating rocket barrage. This way, players should notice in time that they are about to be obliterated by a dozen projectiles and take countermeasures.
The laser is also supposed to emit a sound so that players can hear the impending destruction even behind cover. This “nerf” is planned for the next update 10.10.
What do the players say about it? The players who would like to permanently banish the mech to the vault are outraged by this “nerf”. Because the laser changes nothing about the vehicle’s superiority. Angry players wrote on Reddit:
“This B.I.E.S.T. “nerf” does nothing. I’m dying of laughter! When a B.I.E.S.T. attacks you, you already know where the rockets will land. Who the hell comes up with this crap at Epic?”
Another user dryly notes: “At least you can now give a heads-up ‘I’m dead’ when you see the laser.”
“I see this more as a buff for the B.I.E.S.T. if it can aim with the laser.”

Blizzard has spontaneously extended the “Pre Launch Test” of WoW Classic. You can still play all weekend long.
To the surprise and delight of the player community, Blizzard made a nice announcement for World of Warcraft Classic last night. The servers were supposed to go offline at 8:00 PM for the “Pre Launch Test” – but they just kept running.
In the official forum, Blizzard then revealed that the servers will be online a bit longer – until the upcoming Monday, August 12.
Interested players can therefore dive into Classic to their heart’s content before the servers go offline on Monday at 6:00 PM.
Level cap of 15 remains: However, there was no statement that Blizzard would raise the level cap of the test. Thus, the upper limit for characters remains at level 15, which now significantly more players should be able to reach.
However, you can use the time to create more characters and try out the various classes in turn. Then the choice won’t be so hard when Classic finally launches in just over 2 weeks.
Respawn in starting areas will be increased: At the same time, Blizzard discovered a bug. The respawn times in the starting areas (like Northshire or Teldrassil) are not correct. Enemies take too long to respawn.
With patch 1.12, the spawn time of enemies was already dynamically adjusting to the number of players in the area. This will be fixed. However, in later zones, it is quite normal for the respawn to be slower, and you have to compete with other players for the mobs (or form a group).
In The Division 2 today, on August 10th, is the vendor reset. These items are especially worthwhile, especially a “God-Roll Chest Plate.”
What is special about the vendor reset: When the agents wake up here on Saturday morning, all vendors in the post-apocalypse of Washington are already waiting with new goods. You can browse a bit and see if you can make use of any items in the offer.

You can find nice agents here in the comments on reddit who share their open clans that currently meet these clan level requirements. Besides the impressive 15% weapon damage, the chest plate also provides nearly 5000 armor and 8600 health points. The talent is “Berserk” (+10% weapon damage for every 20% of the maximum armor value that is destroyed).
Chest plates with such a high weapon damage roll are extremely rare in The Division 2. You should definitely pick up this item this week – buy as many as you can.
Alps Summit Armament Backpack with 9% weapon damage. This item is also available at the clan vendor. You need a clan around level 23 for it, others mention a clan level between 12 and 14. It is not as good as the top chest plate and not a “must-have”, but worth considering.

What about Cassie? The secret vendor Cassie has her reset at different times. With Title Update 4, there was a change so that she is updated only on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

What are the bonuses: You can now collect a lot of stardust, as there are increases on almost everything:
Star pieces last for one hour
Eggs give you triple the amount of stardust
You receive triple the amount of stardust from each raid
Triple the amount of stardust for catching Pokémon
How long does the event last? This Tuesday, on August 13, the bonuses will start. You have time until August 20, so a full 7 days.
Is the event worth it? Stardust bonuses are always good. It’s the most important resource in the game. Therefore, one should definitely take advantage of the bonuses.
This is the highlight of the event: As an additional bonus, because all teams have completed the global challenge, there will be a raid day with Suicune.
This will take place on August 17. There will be a Suicune raid at every gym for 3 hours. Excluded are gyms hosting an EX raid.
Suicune can also be encountered as a Shiny. It is the first time this Pokémon appears in its shiny form.
