When does the event start? Today, on Friday, October 9th, the official release of FIFA 21 is set to take place. The OTW event also begins. Since 7 PM, the new special cards are available in packs.
What does the event look like? As EA Sports announced, there will be two OTW teams this year.

The second team will be released on October 14th and will be available in the game on October 16th.
How do I get the cards? Both teams will be available for one week in packs. Additionally, there will likely be special SBCs and weekly challenges to earn OTW cards. Between October 9th and 16th, you will get a member from Team 1, and between October 16th and 21st, one from Team 2 – depending on when you open your pack. If you wait until after October 21st, the player could come from either team.
OTW cards are getting stronger
Which OTW cards are known? The first OTW team consists of the following players:
Luis Suarez (88, ST, Atletico Madrid)
Timo Werner (85, ST, Chelsea FC)
Hakim Ziyech (85, CAM, Chelsea FC)
Alex Telles (84, LB, Manchester United)
Thomas Partey (84, CM, Arsenal)
Gareth Bale (83, RW, Tottenham)
Martin Odegaard (83, CAM, Real Madrid)
Allan (83, CAM, Everton)
Achraf Hakimi (83, RM, Inter Milan)
Victor Osimhen (79, ST, Napoli)
Nathan Aké (79, CB, Manchester City)
There was even a first Squad Building Challenge beforehand, which could be completed through Early Access, the special editions, Web App or Companion App. There you received the OTW version of Sandro Tonali.
The Tonali SBC has since expired
What are OTW cards? Ones-to-Watch cards are for players who have switched clubs this summer. The special feature: Their card has a dynamic rating. It improves every time the player receives a performance-based special card, such as a TOTW card.
They will therefore continuously improve and can increase in value.
Timo Werner is among the Ones to Watch and is getting better
EA Sports is expected to release additional cards, for example from SBCs, when the event starts. If you don’t have luck with packs and want to buy an OTW player on the market, you will likely need a lot of coins. To help you gather them, we have here good trading tips in FIFA 21 for you.

In Destiny 2 today, on October 9th, there is a new visit from Xur. We will see what Exotics the mysterious NPC vendor has in store, what the items are capable of, and where you can find Xur this weekend.
This is going on in Destiny 2: This week the spooky event Festival of the Lost 2020 started. Just like in the real world, Guardians celebrate Halloween with costumes, masks, and sweets. The last major event before the expansion Beyond Light also has a loot problem – but Bungie has already responded with a hotfix.
We also received fresh info this week about the upcoming expansion:
Before November 10th comes and we wreak havoc on the Ice Moon Europa, let’s take a look at Xur and his exotic inventory – will the noodle-faced one grace us with his visit at the new DLC location?

Do you want to start the new FUT season with a Premier League team? Then here are some players for the season start that don’t cost too many coins in FIFA 21.
What kind of team is this? The Premier League offers top players in abundance. However, they also cost a considerable amount of coins, which is hard to accumulate in the first weeks. Players like De Bruyne, Salah, or OTW player Timo Werner are simply not affordable.
That’s why we looked for cards in the Premier League that are well suited for starting in Ultimate Team, but don’t cost a fortune. After all, the coins from trading should be spent wisely.
Note: You won’t find absolute overpowered players here that will make you dominate the Weekend League. However, the following team can provide a good starting point for your FUT season.
Good Premier League Team for Few Coins
What players are in the team? Building a cheap Premier League team is not that easy. The English league tends to be more expensive than, for example, the Bundesliga. In the affordable Bundesliga team, we looked for players that cost no more than 5,000 coins – that was also the guideline for the Premier League.
Ideally, the value should be even lower. Nevertheless, the team must be competitive. With the team builder, we built the following team:
A strong team from the Premier League for few coins Source: Futbin
As of the current state of the transfer market (09.10.), this team costs an average of 32,000 coins on PS4. Keep in mind that this value can go up or down in the currently highly fluctuating market.
What’s certain is that with this selection of players, you have a solid mix for the start. Why we included exactly these players in our team, we explain here:
Kasper Schmeichel: The goalkeeper of Leicester City is reliable in all areas and has been fluctuating between 2,000 and 4,000 coins in the last days. A good value for a usable keeper. A comparable alternative would be Rui Patricio from the Wolves.
Ben Chilwell: The left-back costs only around 1,800 coins and is therefore perfect for a small budget. He has solid stats in pace, defense, passing, and dribbling. Slightly more expensive alternatives would be Benjamin Mendy (4,000 coins, 81) or Lucas Digne (5,500 coins, 84).
Joel Matip: The Liverpool player is particularly strong defensively and is excellent in headers due to his height. His overall rating of 83 costs about 3,900 coins.
Fikayo Tomori: The Chelsea defender currently costs a full 5,000 coins, despite his 76 rating. Why? Probably because the speed stat of 80 is very high for a center-back. It’s not easy to outrun him. Giving him a chance could be worthwhile.
Serge Aurier: There are hardly any right-backs in the lower price segment that can compete with Aurier’s stats. He currently costs just over 1,000 coins. The more expensive but fast alternative would be Hector Bellerin (6,800 coins).
Naby Keita: The former Leipzig player also costs just over 1,000 coins, but has decent stats in speed and especially in dribbling.
Ilkay Gündogan: The ManCity player is a skillful partner for Keita in the double six. He brings strong passing and dribbling stats along with four-star skills and weak foot – all for a price of only 3,100 coins.
James Maddison: The Premier League doesn’t offer a large selection of really strong CAMs under 5,000 coins. Our choice fell on Leicester’s Maddison, who has solid offensive stats and works well in passing and dribbling. He also has the combination of 4-star skills and 4 stars on his weak foot. Price point: 2,500 coins.
Diogo Jota: Caution, special case. Diogo Jota started the new season at a price of 10,000 and then dropped sharply. It is quite possible that this drop is only temporary. He has decent speed and good dribbling stats – plus 4-star skills and 5 stars on the weak foot. Currently, he costs around 5,000 coins – a good investment at the start. By the way, Jota is actually quite a strong FIFA player.
Willian: Willian is still a good choice on the right wing. He is not as fast as he used to be, but he is still quite quick. He can dribble, has a decent weak foot, and good stats in passing and dribbling. He currently costs 2,700 coins. A cheaper alternative would be Xherdan Shaqiri, who is among the 5-star skiller (1,000 coins).
Danny Ings: The Premier League offers many top strikers, but they are not cheap. However, in the lower price segment, Danny Ings can impress with at least solid stats – and costs just 750 coins. Exciting alternatives like Raúl Jimenez (6,800 coins) and Alexandre Lacazette (11,000 coins) fall outside the range of a cheap starter team.

The streamer Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris is banned from Twitch for 33 days. In a video, he explains how embarrassing the ban is for him and how much he regrets his behavior. But a few days later, he seems to provoke Twitch. In an action with fellow streamers such as unsympathisch_tv and Trymacs, his gaming spot was suddenly visible on Twitch again.
This is the backstory:
Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris is by far the largest German streamer. He cultivated the image of a “former junkie” with rough language, who came from the streets and became a YouTube star. Like a rapper, MontanaBlack likes to flaunt his financial success.
He accepted this ban and understood the public outrage over his behavior. He said that he regretted his actions. It was all terribly embarrassing for him. He would now reflect on this.
MontanaBlack is currently taking a break after the vacation.
“That’s not me”
This is what MontanaBlack said first: In a nearly 10-minute video after his ban, MontanaBlack fully admitted his guilt. He said that when he looked back at the clips, he also found his behavior simply embarrassing and inappropriate.
MontanaBlack says:
“And I’m extremely embarrassed, dude. I tell you honestly: I am extremely embarrassed about how all this came to be. It’s just uncomfortable for me, dude.”
MontanaBlack
At the moment when the scenes were created, he didn’t think anything of it. He got carried away by how good he felt on vacation and wanted to entertain the viewers.
However, his behavior was unacceptable, he says. There is nothing to argue about that. But that was not really him that one saw: “That’s not me,” he repeatedly said.
He actually just wants to do his thing on Twitch in peace. Also to say things that might rub people the wrong way, but in general “not be a pain in the ass.”
The streamer then elaborated on how much he enjoys streaming on Twitch, how much it means to him, and how hard it is for him to keep his feet still for 30 days now. Because “streaming is my life.”
Additionally, he is incredibly impatient: waiting now for 30 days until he can stream again is extremely difficult for him. Each day feels like it stretches on endlessly when he is waiting for something.

This was the latest action: A few days ago, a live stream suddenly appeared on the channel of unsympathisch_tv: There, the streamer was seen clearly streaming from MontanaBlack’s spot.
The streamers made numerous allusions, saying that they had taken over the house from a “former tenant.” It still had a lot of unnecessary stuff in it. They were going to open a few packs in FIFA 21 and then hold a “real talk” – all typical things that MontanaBlack usually does.

It was apparently the case that MontanaBlack was in the room and sitting outside of the camera’s view. He was not allowed to appear on camera because that would violate his ban.
For 25 minutes, there were allusions, laughter, and gags. Time and again, they made side jabs at MontanaBlack and his habits. It was mentioned that they wanted to place some slot machines in the apartment. In the pad, it smelled of stale cigarette smoke and casino. And besides, one could only think of free spins there.
The streamers made a joke out of dancing on Twitch’s nose and balancing on the edges of the ban.
The streamers admitted to actually having little content. They had “only driven through half of Germany” for the one joke.

A video related to the action on YouTube has already garnered almost a million views.
German streamers play with fire in the gag
This makes it so precarious: Twitch expressly prohibits streamers from having live contact with banned streamers. This rule was only recently tightened further in response to the ban of Dr Disrespect, with which streamers still had contact.
In the rules for circumventing a ban on Twitch, it states:
All bans are binding until the expiration of the respective period or until lifted following a successful appeal. Attempts to circumvent an account ban or a chat ban by using other accounts, identities, or by being present in another user’s account will also lead to the banning of your accounts, up to and including a permanent ban.
Additionally, it is forbidden to use your channel to knowingly present or promote a banned user. We understand that situations may arise where banned users appear in your stream due to circumstances beyond your control, e.g., through third-party gaming tournaments, but we expect you to do your best to remove them from your broadcast, mute them, or otherwise restrict their interactions with your stream.
From the rules of Twitch
Twitch does not want “banned streamers” on the platform in any form. Circumventing a ban is clearly prohibited.
By constantly referencing MontanaBlack in his stream without technically violating the rules, unsympathisch_tv’s actions were a risky gag.
The streamers did not violate the exact wording of the rule, but certainly went against its spirit. With a bit of bad luck, Twitch could interpret it as if they were presenting or promoting a banned user.
They probably speculate that Twitch will look the other way and understand it as a joke.
Despite all the remorse, MontanaBlack remains true to his image. In the video, he also emphasized that he does not want to be a streamer like all the others. A bit of resistance against the rules seems to be part of it.
During the streams, he still had a great mood.
The actions of MontanaBlack caused public outrage a few weeks ago. On Twitter, several users complained extensively about what kind of role model MontanaBlack is for the youth. We reported on MeinMMO:
In Genshin Impact, and in other gacha games, rerolls are often used to obtain better rewards. But what exactly is behind this and can you get banned for it?
What are rerolls? In Genshin Impact, the rarest characters and weapons can only be obtained through a gacha system. Luck plays a big role in this, but it also encourages spending money on the game – after all, it’s a way to get more wishes.
Rerolls are about continuously obtaining free wishes to unlock the best characters. It works as follows:
You create a new account
You complete the tutorial and bring the account to Adventure Rank 5 – This takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your experience.
At Rank 5, you receive 10 Acquaint Fate, which you can use to obtain characters or special equipment.
If you are satisfied with the rewards, you keep the account. If not, you simply create a new one.
Are rerolls worth it? With this method, you have the chance to get 4 or even 5-star characters early in the game. However, these chances are not very high:
Rewards
Chance
5-star character or weapon
0.6 %
4-star character or weapon
5.1 %
You get a 5-star character or weapon with 0.6 % chance
You get a 4-star character or weapon with 5.1 % chance
Fischl is the best character you can earn through this method.
What are the best characters for rerolls? The best characters you can obtain with this method are:
Fischl – Fischl is “only” a 4-star character and thus has higher chances. At the same time, she belongs to the S-tier, making her one of the strongest characters in the game.
Diluc – 5 stars and S-tier
Qiqi – 5 stars and S-tier
Venti – 5 stars and S-tier
Chongyun – 4 stars and A-tier
You want to know how characters are rated in Genshin Impact? Then check out the current tier list here on MeinMMO:
Rerolling – Is this possible on all platforms? And is it legal?
Does the method work on all platforms? On PC and mobile, rerolling is not a problem at all. You just need enough email addresses to create an account repeatedly.
On PS4, it’s a different story. Here, you would have to create a new PSN account each time, as this is linked with Genshin Impact.
Chongyun is also a 4-star character and is worth it for rerolls.
Is rerolling legal? Rerolling is viewed controversially in the community. However, there are currently no indications that the developers would punish such a system.
As the website Millenium describes, there have been bans related to rerolls in China, but these concerned accounts being sold with the best characters. The ban did not apply to rerolling itself.
What are the disadvantages of rerolls? The biggest disadvantage of rerolls is clearly the time factor. After all, you have to invest 15 to 30 minutes each time, which could be completely in vain.
Genshin Impact is technically a free-to-play game. However, because of the gacha aspect, some players feel tempted to spend money. What about you? Have you already invested money? Let us know in our MeinMMO survey.

The Weekend League is the toughest but also the most lucrative mode in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. Here you will find all the info about FUT Champions.
What is the Weekend League? The Weekend League is where the games of the FUT Champions mode are played. It happens – as the name suggests – always on the weekend.
30 matches against other Weekend League participants are scheduled, where the number of wins determines the rank and the rewards.
This is what we know so far about the Weekend League in FUT 21
This is new in the Weekend League in FIFA 21: A significant change compared to the Weekend League in FUT 20 is: The Top 100 will be expanded to a Top 200.
There, the strongest Weekend League players in the world will end up and receive the best rewards of the competition.
When does the first Weekend League in FUT 21 start? The first Weekend League in FIFA 21 starts on 16.10., exactly one week after the release. Here you can find everything about the first Weekend League.
How do you qualify? To qualify for the Weekend League for the first time, you need to collect FUT Champions points – 2,000 points to be exact. You receive these by playing Division Rivals matches. The higher the division you play in, the more FUT Champions points you earn per match. So it’s worthwhile to aim for a high placement.
Once you have gathered the points, you can redeem them for a one-time entry into the Weekend League. However, for each subsequent Weekend League, 2,000 FUT Champions points will also be required each time.
There is, however, another way to qualify for the Weekend League more comfortably – by playing the Weekend League itself. In FIFA 20, 11 wins (Rank Silver 1) were enough to directly receive the necessary 2,000 points. How this looks in FIFA 21, we cannot say yet.
2000 points must be collected
What rewards are there? In the FUT Champions Weekend League, there are the strongest rewards that Ultimate Team has to offer. These usually mean special packs, a lot of coins, and guaranteed TOTW cards in Player Picks. We expect that this year there will be similarly strong rewards as last year.
Although rewards are already displayed in the menus, whether these are actually final is still questionable. Strangely, the TOTW player picks are missing here, and for Silver 1, there are only 1,500 FUT Champions points, which was different last year.
These rewards can be seen in Ultimate Team
Do you already have a strong team for the Weekend League? If not, take a look at our Bundesliga starter team. It is not too expensive and can be really useful.

Some characters in Genshin Impactare being really adored by part of the community. “This is intentional,” believes MeinMMO author Irina Moritz. She explains which mechanisms are at play here to help players find the right “Waifu.”
Hardly was the co-op RPG Genshin Impact released, when various posts and videos appeared on Reddit, social media, and YouTube claiming that the game is full of “Waifus” and “Husbandos.”
For the readers among you who are less versed in “Otaku-talk”: “Waifu” is the Japanese pronunciation of the English word “Wife.” It is usually used for fictional female characters from anime or video games that one finds sexy or cute. The male equivalent is “Husbando.”
Tier List by Strength vs. Tier List by Waifu Level
This is the situation: Normally, in hero-collection games like Genshin Impact, which features numerous playable characters, there is a more or less clear ranking list.
This list sorts the characters by strength and usefulness: a so-called Tier List. People who aim to build the objectively best team refer to these lists.
Memes about Waifus have existed long before the release of Genshin Impact (Image created with Memecenter.com)
But there is also another type of “Tier List” where the characters are sorted by their Waifu and Husbando level. That is, how sexy, cool, or cute the characters are. They are, in contrast to the strength lists, very subjective since one swoons for the characters they personally find attractive.
These preferences lead to players ignoring the strength of the characters and instead creating a group of their favorites. Some even spend large amounts of money to obtain their favorite character. Like a YouTuber who spent $2,000.
In my opinion, this is no coincidence. The developer behind Genshin Impact is the Chinese company miHoYo. They have several years of experience in creating and operating anime gacha games and know their audience very well.
There’s something for everyone
Examples from Genshin Impact: Genshin Impact, like many other gacha games, is bursting with Waifus and Husbandos. The colorful mix of characters in the game can be categorized by various personality types. This is what makes a proper RPG. It needs an interesting and diverse cast of NPCs.
But it can also be divided into different Waifu and Husbando types. For example, we have:
Lisa as a sexy sorceress who flirts with the player
Jean is the cool, elegant swordswoman in a high leadership position
Barbara is the cute healer
Kaeya serves as the charming playboy
Diluc is the cool, aloof swordsman
Diluc is not only one of the strongest characters in Genshin Impact, but he is also popular with the ladies.
And the list can go on and on. Fans can thus find the character that appeals to them the most within the roster.
Their preferences for specific characters are expressed by fans in the best way they can: through fan art and memes.
Fan art (some of it not exactly suitable for children) and swooning over characters are plentiful on Reddit and social media. Often, there’s talk of hoping to pull that one favorite character or to assemble a team of desired characters.
New characters that are not yet in the game are already “Waifus” and “Husbandos”
On YouTube, players create tier lists for the best Waifus in Genshin and suggest that the game should be renamed to “Waifu Impact” or “Genshin Impact: Breath of the Waifu”.
Genshin Impact is not alone in this. Many gacha games rely on the sex appeal of their playable characters in addition to the gameplay, which you can draw from the pool. Among them are popular titles like Fate/Grand Order or Granblue Fantasy.
The developers at miHoyYo apparently know that a successful gacha game also requires a range of characters that are not only strong but also attractive.
The characters do not necessarily have to be overly sexy or show a lot of skin, even if the character Lisa, with her many moans, fits well into this category:

The Japanese voice of Lisa frequently uses the expression “Ara-ara” in the video, which roughly translates to “Look at that…” or “How surprising.” It’s often used by female characters in anime to express sexual intentions towards younger male characters. In short: She flirts with you.
If a player has bad luck pulling 5-star characters but doesn’t want to spend money, they can still have cool or sexy characters in their group, even if they are weaker.
Players who are completely indifferent to min-maxing and strength still want the 5-star characters because there might be one among them that has particularly high Waifu or Husbando level for them.
Ishtar is one of the most popular characters in Fate/Grand Order
This gives players an additional reason to keep playing, and it seems to work.
However, many in the Genshin Impact community have to admire their favorite Waifus and Husbandos from afar. Because the chances of pulling a 5-star character are slim and become even slimmer if it is one or several specific characters.
Counter Question: Is Genshin Impact also popular because it is not overly sexualized?
Even though there are sexy characters in Genshin Impact and “Jiggle Physics,” which give female breasts more movement, it holds back compared to some other anime games.
The characters generally show little skin
Young characters are not sexualized, but are rather cute
Not only female characters are portrayed as sexy, but also male ones, which creates a balance
This moderate amount of “fan service” is perceived by some players as pleasant and not too intrusive.
I actually find it to be at a pleasant level.
The noticeably younger characters are less about being sexy, but rather cute, while the older characters tend to focus a bit more on revealing clothing. But it doesn’t go overboard; it stays quite true to anime series.
Namma on MeinMMO
And so, Genshin Impact keeps us hooked. Even if one has finished the story and is not particularly eager to grind for materials, some of us still keep playing. You want that one dream character badly to continue playing with him or her once the next chapter of the story and new content arrives.
It could be that they are particularly strong, have a cool story, or simply are top tier Waifu or Husbando material.
WoW: Shadowlands is not far away anymore. But no one should buy the last expansion, Battle for Azeroth. We explain why.
The current WoW expansion Battle for Azeroth is in its final stages. While players are still benefiting from a powerful reputation buff, most are already preparing for Shadowlands. With all the talk about the new expansion, some players are returning to WoW after a long break or want to take a look. But beware – no one should buy the current expansion, Battle for Azeroth.
What’s going on? On October 14, the pre-patch for World of Warcraft will be released, which is the big patch 9.0. It brings numerous changes, such as the level squish, the new starting area, and extensive character customization.
From that point onward, it will no longer be necessary to purchase the current expansion “Battle for Azeroth” separately. It will simply be included in the normal WoW subscription. Blizzard announced this through official news.
BfA is still available for purchase – but it’s not really worth it.
Anyone who buys the game now is essentially throwing away €45, as the game will essentially be free from next Wednesday.
Is the purchase still worth it? It depends. Battle for Azeroth still includes a character boost to level 110 and the digital Deluxe Edition has some cosmetic bonuses.
However, with patch 9.0, leveling a character will happen in just a few hours, so buying it solely for the character boost probably isn’t worth it anymore. It’s better to just wait for the patch and then level a fresh character over the course of two to three evenings – for example, on the new starting island. But the decision ultimately has to be made by each individual.
If you want to “recruit” friends to World of Warcraft, be sure to share this info with them – otherwise, it would be money thrown away.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the 1st POTM in FIFA 21. The forward now gets an upgraded special card – how do you get it? And should you get it?
This is Dominic Calvert-Lewin: Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a forward from Everton FC and is on a real hot streak. Not only has he been scoring goals in the Premier League, but he has also scored for the national team recently.

What is a POTM card? “POTM” stands for “Player of the Month”. There is one each month for different leagues, and Calvert-Lewin has secured the card for the Premier League.
The special card of Calvert-Lewin is 5 points better in overall rating than his standard card. You can get it through a special POTM SBC. But should you complete it?
Calvert-Lewin gets an improved new card
Is Calvert-Lewin worth it in FIFA 21?
What do you need to do for the POTM card? To get the 84-rated card of Calvert-Lewin, you need to complete two partial SBCs. They are called “Top Form” and “Premier League”.
Calvert-Lewin requires two teams from you – they are not cheap
To complete it, you have to exchange teams that meet at least the following requirements:
Top Form:
At least 1 Team of the Week player
83 team rating
75 team chemistry
Premier League
At least 1 Premier League player
84 team rating
70 team chemistry
Is it worth it? The SBC is quite expensive. The special cards from the TOTW are generally quite pricey – although you might be able to take advantage of the TOTW gift that is available on Deadline Day.
In general, teams that reach an average rating of 83 and 84 are not easy to finance. For context: Our Bundesliga team for the start has an overall rating of 81 – but costs, depending on the market situation, between 20,000 and 40,000 coins.
On futbin, the SBC is currently estimated at a total of 60,000 coins based on player solutions (via futbin). This means that the POTM card is not suitable at all for cheap starter teams and players with few coins. It requires quite a bit of trading or a huge amount of luck in packs to gather the necessary coins and players.
Calvert-Lewin is therefore more expensive than players like Hakim Ziyech, Andrew Robertson, Riyad Mahrez, Harry Kane, or Thiago. He is good at shooting, speed, and physicality, but passing does not fare well. Overall, Calvert-Lewin has a decent card, but especially at the start of the game, his price might just be a bit too high in comparison.

The toxic culture described in reports about gaming companies appears to be directly related to gaming itself. As one source put it:
„Almost everyone at Twitch was a hardcore gamer. We had all been in this environment for a long time. That’s why we were so successful. We understood the environment and had a huge passion for making Twitch successful. But that also meant we were in an environment where toxic behavior was normal. I think basically all competitive gaming communities are toxic to some extent.”

A similar insider report about Ubisoft has now emerged as well.
2020 was supposed to be the year of PS5 and Xbox Series X in gaming. So far, it’s more of the year of “Corona virus and delays” and the year of sex scandals. Very similar to the report on the early days of Twitch, the insider report about the French publisher Ubisoft reads:
This is what’s behind it: The allegations against Twitch strongly resemble what was accused of the LoL developer Riot Games a few years ago. However, Twitch seems to have managed to keep that under wraps for much longer.
The toxic culture described in reports about gaming companies appears to be directly related to gaming itself. As one source put it:

We understood the environment and had a huge passion for making Twitch successful. But that also meant we were in an environment where toxic behavior was normal. I think basically all competitive gaming communities are toxic to some extent.”

A similar insider report about Ubisoft has now emerged as well.
2020 was supposed to be the year of PS5 and Xbox Series X in gaming. So far, it’s more of the year of “Corona virus and delays” and the year of sex scandals. Very similar to the report on the early days of Twitch, the insider report about the French publisher Ubisoft reads:
The most extreme stories seem to emerge from the time before and during the acquisition by Amazon, but some stories also seem to take place afterwards. GamesIndustry.biz is cautious about the timing to protect the sources.
Twitch says: We care, many incidents are years old
This is Twitch’s response: Twitch states in a statement that it takes every allegation of this type extremely seriously. All statements claiming otherwise misrepresent the culture, values, and leadership of Twitch.
Many of these allegations are already years old. They have taken many steps to ensure that employees and communities are protected and supported. For instance, they have invested a lot in the HR department and brought in new, diverse leaders to Twitch.
They have also developed a process that allows employees to confidentially reach out to a third party via an anonymous website to investigate incidents.
Twitch seems to suggest with the statement that things have apparently changed a lot, even if they do not explicitly admit how bad it was “back then.”
Kaceytron always suspected it was like that
This is what Kaceytron says: The streamer mentioned explicitly in the report says now: She always felt that she was kept small and discriminated against.
Reading this now, five years later, leaves her astonished. On one hand, she felt disheartened; on the other, she always knew it was true.

This is what’s behind it: The allegations against Twitch strongly resemble what was accused of the LoL developer Riot Games a few years ago. However, Twitch seems to have managed to keep that under wraps for much longer.

A major insider report points to misconduct at the streaming platform Twitch. There, an anti-female climate is said to have prevailed internally. This affected the company’s female employees and extended to the female streamers on the platform. Men at Twitch reportedly considered ways to get rid of the streamer Kaceytron under false pretenses, claiming she showed too much cleavage.
Where do the information come from? The site GamesIndustry.biz states that it was approached by a former employee of Twitch. She was upset about a statement from Twitch CEO Emmet Shear regarding how seriously “sexism” is taken on the platform.
The employee states: There have been several systemic incidents of racism, sexism, and abuse within the company over the years. Such incidents have been swept under the rug.
GamesIndustry.biz subsequently spoke with other Twitch employees who were able to confirm some of these incidents. The outcome was a comprehensive insider report detailing numerous incidents that are anti-female, racist, and disgusting (via gamesindustry.biz).
GamesIndustry.biz is actually a specialist magazine that conducts interviews with developers or reports on how companies are economically and strategically positioned. This makes the report even more explosive.
The Twitch CEO: Emmet Shear.
“How do we get her off the site without bending the rules?”
How do they talk about female streamers at Twitch? One source claims to have heard employees discussing the streamer “Kaceytron”.
Kaceytron was a pioneer among female streamers on Twitch. She started her streaming career with WoW in March 2013, but is now primarily known for LoL.
The source states: Kaceytron caused a lot of discomfort internally at Twitch as she became so popular.
„It was one of those rare moments when these guys just honestly said what they meant: The woman is a problem because she shows too much cleavage. We need to find a way to get her off our website that doesn’t break our rules.”
An anonymous source about Twitch
It is said that female streamers were referred to as “Boob Streamers” by men in the office and sexist jokes were made at their expense.
A Twitch employee says anonymously:
„The women on the platform had to meet extremely high standards. And they were always blamed if they used their sexuality as a marketing tool, which was deeply degrading.”
Women as “Bitches” and the Penis in the CEO’s Twitter Name
This is how women were said to be treated at Twitch: There also seems to have been an anti-female climate within the company. Men reportedly referred to women as “Bitches” and “whores” more often.
Women were seen as “different” and thus treated differently. They were not taken seriously at Twitch and were not given the same opportunities as men.
The company tolerated misogyny.
Overall, Twitch operated like an exclusive boys’ club, especially in the early days, sources say. A vice president of Twitch had a name on Twitter until 2014 that referenced his impressive anatomy.
Here were other issues: The report includes several pages and details various incidents, some alarmingly graphic:
People from the inner circle around the company’s founders could behave as they wanted – they were protected from above.
The HR department did not follow up on complaints from women against men. Female employees felt they were not being heard, and complaints went unanswered. Men accused did not get fired by Twitch, but were often promoted instead.
Decision-makers were male and white, complaints from women or minorities were brushed aside. They simply weren’t seen as important because they regarded their own experiences as the “universal user experiences,” according to another source.
When hate speech occurred, managers allegedly said it was just teenagers trying to show off. They didn’t even take racist statements seriously.
There were also boozy company parties where people behaved completely inappropriately. This also went without consequences.
Women were expected to join in the festivities, to be groped, and to behave unprofessionally to fit in and be “part of Twitch,” one woman shared. She felt pressure to attend parties and accept the behavior there.
Decision-makers often acted on personal connections. No action was taken against certain streamers accused of abuse, because a Twitch employee had previously been intoxicated with them at Dreamhack.
The platform’s moderation was neglected for the first few years “as long as no one dies,” and only began to receive attention when Sony and Microsoft came knocking. They insisted on a better, moderated environment if they wanted to take Twitch on as a partner platform for PS4 and Xbox One.
Things apparently improved with Amazon’s acquisition
This was a turning point: The insider report admits that things changed quite a bit as early as 2014. That was when Amazon purchased the platform. This was accompanied by a “professionalization” process. Twitch began hiring more women and members of marginalized groups.
The most extreme stories seem to emerge from the time before and during the acquisition by Amazon, but some stories also seem to take place afterwards. GamesIndustry.biz is cautious about the timing to protect the sources.

2020 was supposed to be the year of PS5 and Xbox Series X in gaming. So far, it’s more of the year of “Corona virus and delays” and the year of sex scandals. Very similar to the report on the early days of Twitch, the insider report about the French publisher Ubisoft reads:
Baldur’s Gate 3 has received its first updates after the Early Access launch. In one of the patch notes, the developers reported a fix regarding the new graphics card GeForce RTX 3080. However, the developers do not own one because it sold out too quickly. Now they are asking Nvidia for help.
In one of the new patch notes, the developers at Larian Studios reported on their curious situation with the GeForce RTX 3080, where there apparently were graphical issues:
Graphical glitches on Nvidia 3080 cards have also been fixed.
Funny story: Since the card was so popular, we couldn’t find a graphics card to test with before the launch. We still don’t have one. At this point, we are pretty sure that you invented the RTX 3080. Prove to us that it exists by sending us a card.
Also to blame are bots and resellers who want to sell the card for a higher price on eBay or other platforms. Nvidia now wants to take action against this, with manual checks of the orders.
Many fixes, especially for multiplayer
What else is in the game’s patch notes? After the launch of Baldur’s Gate 3, there was a lot of criticism regarding the multiplayer, which was deemed “unplayable” in many respects.
The last two hotfixes are said to have resolved the “most common crashes and multiplayer issues.” The remaining problems are already being addressed.
Almost 20 years after Baldur’s Gate 2, the successor is now coming, this time even with a more sophisticated multiplayer.
A tip from the developers was also to save regularly to avoid frustration in case of problems during Early Access. They approached players with humor regarding those who consider frequent saving as dishonorable:
We recommend saving frequently, and we will add more autosave points in the game to avoid time loss when you encounter a problem.
All you have to do is press F5. If you’re streaming, just create an overlay that hides when saving. Or pretend to cough. No one will really notice.

The Complete Patch Notes for WoW Patch 9.0
If you’re interested in all the particulars, you can find the complete patch notes here.
The Flood of Death – Limited Time Event
Shortly after the release of the preparation patch, the defenders of Azeroth will have to take up arms again to fend off an invasion from the undead Scourge sweeping across the land. Players can embark on a quest to establish a base in Icecrown, where the veil between Azeroth and the afterlife has been torn. There, you must prepare for the journey into the Shadowlands. This limited-time preparation event will only be available until the launch of Shadowlands – so make sure to log in to experience this content and earn special rewards.
Adjustment of Levels, Items, and Values
Levels, items, and values have been adjusted so that reaching a new level feels more meaningful, and you can reach max level faster than ever before. Characters at level 120 will be at level 50 after the content update.
New Character Customizations
The character creation has been equipped with a brand-new user interface and you have a lot of new options for character customization at your disposal. These new options include selecting eye color, new skin tones, as well as new hairstyles and hair or fur colors.
All these new options are available at all barbers in Azeroth. You can even change gender and customize the appearance of your shapeshift forms as a druid. All customizations are now available at any time in-game, meaning character customization is no longer offered in the shop.
New Starting Experience
The Island of the Exiled
The Island of the Exiled is a brand-new starting experience where you will be introduced to the basics of World of Warcraft and the core mechanics of your class through an expedition. If you are playing World of Warcraft for the first time and have never created a character or leveled up, you will begin your journey through Azeroth with the starting experience. If you are an experienced player or already have a character leveled up, you can choose to skip the starting experience and start at level 1 in your race’s starting area.
Once they reach level 10, new players can continue their journey into Battle for Azeroth and eventually into Shadowlands.
On the Island of the Exiled, newcomers experience their first adventures.
Timewalking Campaigns
Players who have experienced Battle for Azeroth and reached level 50 with at least one character can now opt to level up with additional characters through timewalking campaigns in a different expansion. With this new feature, content from places like Northrend or Pandaria scales with character level, allowing you to level up there from level 10 to 50 and experience the stories of those places at the pace originally intended. To select your preferred expansion for leveling, you need to visit Chromie at the embassy in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. If you want to choose a different expansion at any point, you can simply speak to Chromie again.
Beginner Chat
After you create your character and begin your journey in World of Warcraft, you join the beginner chat. There, you can exchange ideas with other newcomers and ask experienced players from the same faction for advice, who will assist you as mentors through your journey in the new starting area, the Island of the Exiled. New players and mentors can recognize each other in chat channels and by a symbol above their heads that only they can see. Once they reach level 20, new players are ready to venture out on their own. From this point on, they can no longer access the beginner chat.
If you are an experienced player interested in supporting new players experiencing World of Warcraft for the first time, travel to Stormwind or Orgrimmar and speak to the mentor recruiter. To become a mentor, you must meet the following criteria:
You must have an account in good standing.
You must have reached level 50.
You must have completed 3,000 quests.
You must have achieved at least two of the following achievements: “Great Trio”, “Rival: Season 4 of Battle for Azeroth”, “Keystone Master of Battle for Azeroth: Season 4”, “The Dream of Watchers” or “We have the technology”.
If you no longer want to be a mentor, you can simply speak to the mentor recruiter again.
Achievements
You no longer need the achievements “Pathfinder of Draenor” and “Pathfinder of the Broken Isles, Part Two” to fly in Warlords of Draenor and Legion.
Allied Races
You no longer need to achieve the reputation level Exalted with the corresponding faction to unlock allied races.
Auction House
Successful auctions now display the name of the buyer or highest bidder in a tooltip.
When selling trade goods (stackable items), selected stacks now take priority over other stacks in the inventory.
Your auctions can now be sorted by remaining time.
The “Level Range” filter now also filters battle pets by level.
For legendary armor pieces that can be crafted by professions, the option “Rune Engraving” has been added under each armor category. The required materials will be available only with the release of Shadowlands.
Black Market Auction House
You now need to be at max level to access the Black Market Auction House.
The Mighty Caravan Brutosaurus is no longer offered by vendors and will occasionally be available in the Black Market Auction House.

The PlayStation 5 relies on liquid cooling as its cooling system. However, this also reminds us of an evil robot from Terminator 2.Because the android assassin T-1000 seems to be made of the same material at first glance.
For the first time, the PlayStation 5 uses liquid metal for cooling. This was demonstrated by Sony during the teardown of the PS5. In the long run, this is supposed to improve the stability of the system and ensure good cooling performance. Sony itself says: “This is one of the components that required a lot of creativity from us when designing the PS5.”
The PS5 uses liquid metal for cooling.
Why does this remind us of Terminator? In Terminator, there is the android assassin T-1000, the main antagonist from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He is supposed to kill John Connor, who is later to become the leader of mankind.
The special thing about T-1000 is his shape. He is made of liquid metal and can manipulate this mass to take on different forms.
Now imagine the liquid, silver metal core of the PS5 starting to move and making weird noises. Just like the T-1000 in the Terminator film. That would be quite creepy.
In the trailer for the 3D remake from 2017, you can actually get a glimpse of T-1000 yourself.

PS5 Liquid Metal – Advantages and Disadvantages of Cooling
What is the advantage of liquid metal? But enough about Terminator. What is the real deal with liquid metal?
Liquid metal for cooling mainly consists of gallium. It melts at a temperature of 29.76 degrees. So you have a block of metal in the console that starts to melt during operation.
The metal offers significantly higher thermal conductivity compared to conventional thermal paste. Additionally, it is more resistant to aging, which is also beneficial for the longevity of the console.
What is the disadvantage? The electrical conductivity of liquid metal is significantly higher. This also means the risk of a short circuit is greater when handling liquids. This is one reason why beginners are often advised to use conventional thermal paste rather than liquid metal.
PS5 Teardown: Sony disassembles the PS5 and shows what the console looks like on the inside
More things about the PS5 Teardown: During the teardown of the PS5, other interesting things were also shown. Now we know what Sony came up with to prevent the PS5 from getting dirty from dust. Because behind the white cover, Sony has hidden a dust trap.

Yesterday, on October 8th, the beta test for the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War began, and the first reactions are not particularly positive. The CoD experts Drift0r and TheXclusiveAceboth even ended their streams.
What was going on? Since yesterday evening (October 8 – 7:00 PM), players who pre-ordered on PS4 can join the beta test of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. After heavy criticism during the alpha test a few weeks ago, it seems that this is now being repeated in the beta.
Many players had problems yesterday and could not enjoy the game at all. Two major CoD experts and YouTubers even ended their streams on Twitch because they weren’t having fun.
One of them, “Drift0r,” already released a video about the beta and said the current version is “overwhelmingly negative.” The other, “TheXclusiveAce,” tried it twice and ended both times on a negative note: “I am not having fun.”
A new map – Cartel – came with the beta.
Beta improves some things over Alpha, but has new problems
Where are the problems? Four points of criticism keep surfacing in the reports:
Strong Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM)
Poor lobby connections
Frame drops in matches
Disbanding lobbies after the game
What about the SBMM? Many players say that the SBMM in the beta is quite severe. This means that even a little good gameplay can land you in a lobby with sweats and tough opponents. Already in CoD MW, the seemingly strict matching of lobbies based on skills was a huge problem for many CoD soldiers. They rather wish for a ranked mode where strong players can go all out and a normal matchmaking system where performance variables like ping or good server connections play a bigger role.
Under the tweet of the official CoD account regarding the beta, there are numerous demands to completely remove the SBMM:

What about the lobbies? What particularly burdened both CoD experts were the poor lobbies. In every game of both, there were connection issues. This led to ghost bullets that did not hit or “super bullets” that hit twice. This could be due to the netcode that regulates the information exchange between player and server.
It can also happen that you are already hiding behind cover on your screen, but the opponent can still land the decisive shots. Drift0r also shows this in his feedback video (at 3:20 minutes):

Ace described it in his stream: “It’s like fast-forwarding a YouTube video, but instead of skipping directly to the point, it plays back the skipped part quickly, and the voices sound like the Chipmunks.”
What about the frame rate? Another point that affected the fun of some players were frame drops on the PlayStation 4 – also on the PS4 Pro. Again and again the frame rate dropped briefly for both Drift0r and Ace, which made playing quite exhausting at times.
What about the disbanding lobbies? Another point of criticism that many in the community have pointed out is the lobbies that disband after the game (via CharlieIntel). That getting completely new teammates after a match was already a major topic of contention in CoD MW. With the alpha of Cold War, the lobbies remained intact so that players could play multiple rounds against the same players. However, many players experienced in the beta that the lobby is completely reassembled after the match – contrary to the wishes of many players.
Personal conclusion: Partially different experiences
Could this be due to the beta stage? That is currently the big question, and it could be answered with a “yes.”
Because my own experiences with the beta yesterday were somewhat different. I had neither big problems with overly sweaty opponents, nor did my lobbies disband after the match. I could also observe some minor performance issues, but not as severe frame drops as those reported by the experts.
The lobbies were also more stable, and even though I noticed that in some deaths I was already well behind cover on my screen – it didn’t seem as bad as it was for Drift0r and Ace.
This could be related to different server regions and loads. But these are not really good signs when the servers are already having issues and it’s only the closed beta for pre-orders on PS4.
Beta better than Alpha in many respects – But not in the important ones
Is there anything good about the beta? Drift0r also mentions some positive adjustments and quality-of-life changes that make playing more pleasant:
The movement feels better than in the alpha – Here he only sees the problem with lags
You can see almost every detail of the weapon stats now.
However, his final comment clearly leans towards the negative. The numerous problems outweigh the improvements, and he did not have a good time during his first tests of the beta. While some of the biggest alpha problems were resolved, new ones have arisen that in some cases made it even worse.
The beta is running in 4 phases, and several changes and new content are expected before testing ends on October 19. You can find out what content the beta delivers and when non-pre-order players and other platforms will join in our big special on the Cold War Beta.

Microtransactions have now firmly established themselves in the gaming industry, especially in online games. But how did the purchases of in-game items actually come about?
Especially Free2Play and mobile games are often full of microtransactions. After all, the development and operation of MMORPGs, for example, costs quite a bit of money. Therefore, it is not possible to offer these games completely for free. To reach as many potential customers as possible, entry is free. Usually, players can experience the entire content without having to pay a cent.
However, the developers entice gamers to purchase in-game items like costumes, weapons, or furniture for houses, as well as EXP boost potions and other items that simply looked cooler than what could be found in the game or provided certain conveniences or time savings.
Even paid games like FIFA 21 or subscription titles like World of Warcraft now offer in-game shops with additional, optional items – including special mounts or characters for the game. The acquisition of such items has simply become established.
In The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, you could buy armor for your horse for real money.
But how did these microtransactions come about?
Did it all start with a horse? The horse armor from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is commonly regarded as the beginning of microtransactions. Upon release in 2006, Bethesda offered a special armor for the horse in the game. It cost $2.50. Players were outraged. After all, they had purchased the RPG at full price and were now supposed to pay extra for the armor of a horse? For some, $2.50 was definitely too high a price for such an item.
TES 4: Oblivion brought microtransactions into discussion. However, it was not the first game to allow the purchase of in-game items for real money. Before, the broad mass of gamers – especially in Europe and the USA – simply had not been aware of these purchases.
This is how it started: In 1990, the arcade game Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone was released in arcades. In this arcade game, players could buy upgrades, lives, weapons, new characters, additional special moves, and more by putting extra money into the machine.
However, players were not particularly enthusiastic about this back then.

In Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone, players had to put money into the machine for additional items.
In 1999, Nexon released the Free2Play game Quiz Quiz, in which players could purchase costumes for their characters or power-ups for mini-games for real money. The system was quickly embraced in South Korea, which is why Nexon used it for the 2003 release MapleStory as well as other titles like Mabinogi (2004) and Dungeon Fighter Online (2004), one of the most successful games in the world.
The already released 2001 social networking game Habbo Hotel also offered users the option to purchase furniture for real money, which players could then place in their virtual apartments to decorate them.
In 2003, the MMO Second Life started with a virtual economy through which players can still buy and sell items today. This includes clothing, for example, to distinguish themselves from other people in the MMO and show off what cool things they could afford.
Many mobile games like Clash of Clans finance themselves through microtransactions – and do so very successfully.
How is it with mobile games? In 2008, Apple’s App Store launched and offered mobile games. These relied directly on microtransactions as their main source of income. It quickly became clear that Buy2Play titles did not do well, especially if their price was in the double digits.
Free2Play mobile games with optional microtransactions were accepted, however. In the first 3 years after the store’s launch, Apple generated revenues of over $3.6 billion. 80% of that came from mobile games (via TechCrunch/Apple).
The success that companies like Apple had with the sale of in-game items encouraged more and more developers and publishers to come up with similar monetization methods for their games. This led to the emergence of sales of skins, loot boxes, and the freemium model, where the games are generally free but additional content costs money.
Microtransactions have existed for a long time; it just took a while for players to really notice them. They are now an integral part of the gaming industry and will likely remain so.
The original form of Giratina is first available in raids of Pokémon GO. We show you the best counters against the Pokémon.
Update: We have updated this article on October 9, 2020, with the current best counters against the original form of Giratina.
When will the original form be available? Starting October 9, 2020, you can encounter the original form of Giratina in level 5 raids.
What is effective? Giratina is a Ghost and Dragon type. It has weaknesses against Dragon, Ghost, Dark, Ice, and Fairy types. So you can set up quite a broad counter team.
Are there differences to the altered form? The original form is easier to defeat but also deals more damage. Because of this, the best counters change a little as well.

So that you have a graphic ready for every raid, user AzureSolarstorm from gtr-Storm shared an infographic about good counters and the key stats of the original form on reddit.
How many players do you need? With the right weather and friend bonuses, you can easily defeat the original form of Giratina with just two players if you have strong counters. For players around level 30, 3-4 trainers should suffice. The altered form could already be defeated with two players.
Which Giratina are good? If the original form has 2105 CP, then it is a Giratina with 100% IV. With weather bonuses, Giratina can even reach 2631 CP in a raid. Foggy and windy weather boosts Giratina.
The maximum CP of Giratina can reach 3683. Thus, the original form is stronger than the altered form.
Those who have spent a lot of time cleaning their PS4 will be pleased. Because with the PS5, dust removal should be much easier. The official teardown of the PS5 shows how it could be done.
An interesting aspect was how the PlayStation 5 protects itself against dust that enters the console. Sony has come up with an interesting trick here.
PS5 teardown shows that dust is likely not a problem
What was shown? In the video, the technician from Sony shows that there are two holes hidden behind the outer casing. These are intended to trap the dust that enters the console over time.
Through these holes, the accumulated dust should also be able to be removed quickly. Many readers will be pleased, as this not only saves nerves but also costs significantly less time than if one had to completely disassemble the console.
You should not do this with the PlayStation 5 anyway, as it will void the warranty.
Two holes are designed to catch the dust. From here it can subsequently be vacuumed up. How well this works in practice remains to be seen.
What you need to consider: To free your console from dust, according to the technician, you only need to remove the white side panels and then directly access the cover with the holes where the dust is.
How well this actually works in practice, we do not know yet.
However, Sony also explained that “the dust collector does not guarantee that the hardware will not collect dust.” You must therefore ensure that your console remains clean.
If you have problems with dust, dirt, or noise with your PS4, we have the best tips for you here:
Many users are still hoping that Sony will launch a third sales wave of PS5 consoles. But it is still unclear whether and when there might be a possible 3rd wave for the PS5.
The YouTuber German Treasure Hunter goes on treasure hunts in real life. For over 6 years, he has been making videos on the topic. In one video, he looked at the antiquities system of The Elder Scrolls Online and found many parallels to real treasure hunting.
What is the video about? According to the treasure hunter, the similarities between the antiquities system in ESO and real treasure hunting are “staggering”. The developers are said to have “given it some thought” to portray the hunt realistically, which was introduced with the Greymoor expansion.
The treasure hunter sees similarities in both finding excavation sites and the excavation itself. In the video, he shows images of his treasure hunt in the game and in the real world and compares them.
The video was created in collaboration with the developers, marked with the note “Advertising” and shown in a live stream by Bethesda. Nevertheless, the comparisons seem understandable and not contrived.

Similarities between Treasure Hunts in ESO and Reality
What are the parallels in searching for excavations? In ESO, you must initially reach various points in a mini-game by solving a puzzle. This, in turn, narrows down the area where the later excavation is located.
The treasure hunter compares this process to finding locations in reality. He usually sits at the PC and layers several maps on top of each other. He tries to find old paths there that no longer exist today. Old coins or similar items might have been lost there.
The treasure hunter compares solving this mini-game to sifting through maps in reality.
What are the parallels in excavation? The excavation in ESO proceeds in several steps:
You uncover different sections of the site, but you have a limited number of moves.
With the help of an emerald, you receive a color-coded assessment of how far you are from the treasure.
You can retrieve the treasure with various tools.
Some of these tools can damage the treasure, such as digging too deep with a spade. Therefore, ESO also offers finer tools, like a brush.
In reality, it works quite similarly:
A metal detector is used to narrow down the radius of the treasure.
Various tools are used to retrieve it.
Here, too, one must be careful not to damage the treasure with a spade. Therefore, digging usually occurs around the site, followed by using finer tools for detailed investigation.
Instead of a brush like in ESO, the treasure hunter uses a smaller and finer detector in RL.
Are the Treasure Hunts in ESO Worth It?
Those who go hunting for antiquities in ESO have the chance for interesting rewards. There is something for every type of player, including:
As a start to Beyond Light, Bungie is revamping the beginning of the journey as a Guardian for all new players – including for the free-to-play version Destiny 2: New Light. The game is set to become significantly more accessible, making the entry easier and finally providing a clear path.
Here is the current situation regarding the entry into Destiny 2:Destiny 2: New Light was supposed to represent the perfect entry into the Destiny universe. After all, the free-to-play version still offers a large amount of cool content – and that for free for all players.
Anyone who wants to take a closer look at Destiny 2 or even take their first serious steps as a freshly baked Guardian gets a really good opportunity here. But despite or precisely because of the many contents, the entry for newcomers is anything but accessible and easy to master.
After a mission, you are currently thrown into the deep end. What should one play first? What are all these blinking symbols? Who is Zavala? What should I do with these Engrams? New players are left pretty much alone with these and many other questions. But that is set to change soon.
Destiny 2 will soon guide new players more effectively
Bungie is polishing the beginning of Destiny 2 – Better entry for new players
Why the change? The entry currently lacks primarily in two areas:
Important, fundamental mechanics are not well explained or not explained at all.
A clear path is missing that new players can follow. In the introductory mission, you learn too little; afterwards, you don’t know where to go.
And exactly that is supposed to change after the revamp of the entry.
When does the change come? Destiny 2 will receive the new beginning on November 10th – with the release of Update 3.0.0 and the launch of the new expansion Beyond Light.
However, the beginning will be available to all new players, so it is not tied to the purchase of Beyond Light.
The beginning of the journey will soon lead into the Cosmodrome – not just in a short mission
This is how the new beginning plays out: New Guardians will initially begin their journey similarly to how many of us did. A wayward Ghost is searching for a Guardian, meets the player, and revives them for the first time. But now it will be different. Destiny 2: New Light sends newcomers on a multi-part quest.
One will not find a ship directly but will first meet another Guardian in the wilderness around the Cosmodrome. This NPC is named Shaw Han (see title image) and is out on a mission with his fireteam to find out what the Hive is up to in the Cosmodrome. This specific NPC will then guide the new Guardians and introduce them to the fundamental systems and gameplay mechanics of the game.
In the first few missions, new players will familiarize themselves with the world of Destiny 2. They will try out different weapons, find Engrams, and test the armor obtained from them. They will also be introduced to the progression system, get to know the user interface, and become acquainted with quests, loot missions, collection, and other core aspects of the game.
All of this will take place in the newly introduced Cosmodrome and occur before your first landing in the Tower, the main social space of Destiny 2 – that is, before the game fully unfolds.
This panorama should still be familiar to many veterans – and they can soon admire it again on request
Good for newcomers, but also interesting for veterans: New players thus benefit from a well-explained entry, and veterans can look forward to a nostalgic trip where they might also discover a new detail or two – for example, a Lost Sector that wasn’t in the game until now. Because even existing players, who have long since moved beyond the start of the game, can enjoy this experience starting November 10th and embark on the corresponding New Light quest.
In short: If the entry into Destiny 2 has discouraged you so far or if you are completely new, it could definitely be worth checking back starting November 10th – even if the free-to-play version loses quite a bit of content elsewhere. But even seasoned Guardians can look forward to a nostalgic experience.
Today, on October 9th, FIFA 21 kicks off its new season. And those who play on release day can secure some gifts for their Ultimate Team on “Deadline Day.”
What gifts are available? FIFA 21 launches directly with “Deadline Day” during the release – a kind of short event that offers you some bonuses. You will receive two packs as gifts:
A guaranteed TOTW Player Pack
The “Deadline Day” Pack with 4 OTW players as loan objects
The OTW players have the potential to become stronger, but you can only use them for four matches.
More interesting is the TOTW Pack. In regular packs, the chance of top cards is extremely low, but here you get a guaranteed TOTW player. While he is not tradable, he remains permanently in your club. If he is strong, you can integrate him into your team immediately. If not, at least he can be used as a special card in an SBC.
How do I get the gift? To receive the packs, you just need to play the full version of FIFA 21. However, you must do this by the end of the release day; otherwise, the gift will no longer be available. Anyone who has already done this in the past few days via Champions Edition or Ultimate Edition should already be qualified.
On the official EA page, a countdown is ongoing, which ends at midnight on October 10th.
The countdown ends at midnight on October 10th
Important: This is about the full version of FIFA 21. Logging into the Web App or Companion App is not expected to count. If you have already played and want to be absolutely sure, you might want to log into FIFA 21 Ultimate Team again today.
When will I receive the gift? Don’t expect to receive your pack immediately. EA Sports states that the Deadline Day and TOTW Pack will be released “on or before October 16th” for players. So it might take up to a week before it arrives in your club.
Which players are included in the Deadline Day gift?
These players are eligible: Since these are packs containing random players, it cannot be said exactly which player you can expect. What is certain is that the Deadline Day Pack contains OTW players, while the TOTW Pack contains a player from the Team of the Week.
Important: You do not have to open the pack immediately. If you want, you can also save the packs – for instance, until a new TOTW appears. This can be worthwhile if you are not satisfied with the current players in the TOTW. Otherwise, the pool currently consists of these players:
TOTW Team 2 (Available in packs until October 14th, 7 PM)
OTW Team 1 (Available in packs from October 9th to 16th)
Especially for players who want to build a Bundesliga team in FUT, the current TOTW could be interesting. With Lewandowski and Haaland, there are two strikers in it that can immediately elevate any Bundesliga team to a higher level. But it is also clear that you need an extreme amount of luck to draw the top players from the pack.
