The Festival of the Lost, traditional Halloween event 2021 from Destiny 2, is approaching quickly. However, until now Bungie has revealed only minimal information for the community. This year there was no cool trailer beforehand and hardly any pictures of the announced armors or weapons. MeinMMO reveals everything that is known so far.

This event is about: The Festival of the Lost is the Destiny version of Halloween. The event takes place annually in the fall and has been celebrated every year since Destiny 1.

Players love the spooky event:

• In the Tower, the meeting point of Destiny 2, atmospheric candles, pumpkins, and costumes ensure that everyone gets into the right spooky mood.
• There are a lot of candies to earn, which can be exchanged for spooky cosmetics and weapons during the festivities.
• In 2021, players were even allowed to choose the Festival armor set themselves.

This is the event period: The Festival of the Lost takes place from October 12 to November 2, 2021. Start and end are each together with the Weekly Reset, Tuesdays at 7:00 PM.

Are there any participation requirements? No, the Festival of the Lost can be celebrated by all players. That means, whether you own every add-on and a season pass or are a Guardian with the Free-to-Play version Destiny 2: New Light – all rewards and activities are freely accessible.

Players are wondering why Bungie has revealed something about the event so late: Last year there was already a cool trailer and concrete information beforehand. That made everyone curious about the Halloween event. However, 2021 is different. Players are wondering why Bungie is keeping quiet for so long.

There was also no proper roadmap for the Season of the Lost, and now the details of the event are missing in advance. Is there perhaps still a surprise waiting for us?

Players selected their Halloween Festival armor in 2021

Bungie had left the choice to the players. They could vote in March 2021 via a survey which of the two presented armor concept arts they liked more. The Dino setting won back then. This was then officially announced as a universal ornament for the Festival of the Lost 2021.

This makes it especially exciting: Exactly because the players actively participated in the appearance of the new Halloween set in 2021, it is all the more exciting. The players only knew roughly how the armor would look this year. Bungie kept everything a secret until shortly before the event start on October 12 and only then showed pictures of the finished armors.

The concept art of the dinos has been implemented very accurately:

In the finished armors, one can see that many details have flowed into the finished armor design just as the first concept art had shown.

• The Hunter is the sleek Velociraptor, agile, nimble, and fierce.
• The Warlock is a Triceratops, which takes its enemies by the horns
• The Titan gets the dangerous T-Rex. Any similarities with short-range melee attacks of the Titan and T-Rex arms are purely coincidental.

What will the armor ornaments cost?: Each set costs either 6,000 Glamour Dust or 1,500 Silver.

Then comes the official Halloween trailer: On October 12, 2021, at 7 PM, during the weekly reset, Bungie will show the trailer for the Festival of the Lost in-game.

Bungie also published further information about the Halloween event 2021, one hour before the event starts, on bungie.net to prepare the Guardians for the event.

This is new at the Festival of the Lost 2021:

Apart from the known details about the Festival of the Lost,

• Event-specific Triumphs: The Festival of the Lost 2021 offers new Triumphs that can only be completed during the event and
• Event-specific bounties: Eva’s bounties grant Glamour Dust, XP, Glimmer, and candies. The tasks follow the well-known schema of weekly, daily, and additional bounties.
• Event-specific lore: A new book full of unforgettable characters and heroic deeds

will also change a bit during the Halloween event 2021.

• The Haunted Forest is no longer the event activity: Since Mercury, along with the Infinite Forest, has been vaulted, it is no longer available for the event. Bungie has replaced the known Haunted Forest activity with “Haunted Sectors”.

Your task is to uncover all dark secrets:

• An Exo and a Vex spirit have fused into something new
• a Guardian on Nessus is being hunted because someone is after their spirit
• and headless beings are lurking through the dark chasms of the Moon

These rewards the Halloween event 2021 brings

As always, you can earn rewards during the Festival of the Lost in the following ways.

• From Eva and at the end of a Haunted Sector activity.
• Additionally, you can treat yourself to numerous event items in the Eververse, including the Calaveras Ghost Shell or a cool Sparrow in spider design.
• At Eva, you can also complete event-specific Triumphs that grant you various cosmetics.

This year, as a reward, there are not only reheated Halloween weapons like the automatic rifles “Spooky Story” and “Braytech Werewolf.” Bungie has reintroduced a pulse rifle called “Prehistoric Green” in a fancy Dino-shed look. It strongly resembles the Pulse Rifle “Tannen Green”.

This is also interesting: Destiny 2 celebrates in 2021 under the motto “Dia de los Muertos”. To this end, an event reward was presented in more detail in the This Week at Bungie Blog from October 7, 2021. The ghost shell “Calaveras” features a typical Dia de los Muertos design and was designed by artist Luis Yépez, also a Destiny 2 player.

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is one of the most important holidays in Mexico. There, one commemorates the deceased and remembers them. Bungie emphasizes that diversity and representation are important not only in the world of Destiny 2 but also in the community.

The Calaveras Ghost Shell will be available when the Festival of the Lost starts on October 12 at 7 PM. You can either purchase the ghost shell for silver or glamour dust. There will also be other cool cosmetics to grab, like a Sparrow, a ghost shell, and a new ship.

Every Guardian has their favorite weapons in Destiny 2, with which they go through thick and thin. Since I don’t want to withhold from you which are my best companions in battle, I will show you 5 weapons that you should definitely try out.

Which weapons are we talking about? These weapons are a wild mix from my personal arsenal. I took the time to show you my current 5 favorite weapons in Destiny 2. Maybe I can get you excited about one or another rifle.

These 5 weapons are constantly rotating through my loadout

In the weapon list below, there is a broad mix of weapons that accompany me in my Destiny 2 daily life. If you are assuming the rarest specimens, you are on the wrong track. Unfortunately, I am not the type of player who chases the God Roll.

However, if I am blessed by the RNG god, I look forward to the loot and store it in my vault. Now let’s get to my selection:

• Dusk Promise
• Heze Revenge
• Vex Mythoclast
• IKELOS_MP_V1.0.2
• Disunity SR4 (Master)

Dusk Promise – My must-have hand cannon for PvP

I have often seen Guardians messing around with this weapon, and I kept asking myself what’s so great about it. Once I got this roll, I haven’t used any other hand cannon in PvP since. I’ve never been the hand cannon type who could handle this kind of weapon flawlessly. Nevertheless, Dusk Promise has taught me otherwise.

This is my roll:

• Hitmark HV
• Ricochet Rounds
• Snapshot Sights
• Gunfighter – I would have preferred a Tracker

That’s why you need it: In combat, the weapon hardly deviates. It remains stable even when firing repeatedly. It draws quickly, and with the perk “Snapshot Sights,” you can quickly aim in intense situations. No hand cannon has convinced me like this one so far. It scores with accuracy, precision, and excellent handling, so you should definitely give this piece a look.

Heze Revenge

Rocket launchers have always fascinated me. Dealing massive damage or thinning out large hordes of enemies – no problem with the right rocket launcher. That’s why I chose this gem. I regularly use it in the Nightfall for champions or also in raids.

This is my roll:

• Hard Hits
• Impulse Rounds
• Impulse Amplifier
• Vorpal Weapon

That’s why you need it: In Season 14, this rocket launcher convinced me thanks to the mod “Silver Bullet.” With this mod, I was able to deal massive damage in the Grandmaster Nightfall. The perk “Impulse Amplifier” also ensured a fast reload speed. So if you’re looking for a rocket launcher that deals strong damage, gets to your target quickly, and refills your magazine swiftly, then this rocket launcher is your best choice.

Vex Mythoclast

Of course, the Vex Mythoclast cannot be missing. However, I am not one of those Guardians who use this weapon just because it is currently the meta, but because it has fascinated me since Destiny 1. The fact of holding a fusion rifle in my hands while firing it like an auto rifle never left my mind. Therefore, I was even more pleased that the Vex made its comeback in Destiny 2.

That’s why you need it: With the seasonal mod “Particle Disintegration,” you benefit from a debuff that weakens your enemies. This debuff can only be applied to your enemies by fusion rifles of any kind.

As the Vex Mythoclast has received a damage buff, you can quickly take out normal enemies without worrying about your ammunition. Despite being a fusion rifle, you benefit from the fact that the weapon is a primary weapon. For this reason, you have unlimited ammunition.

IKELOS_MP_V1.0.2

I use this weapon extensively in the meta of Warmind Cells. No matter the situation, this piece supports me in any activity. The IKELOS MP is a laser with the right perks, but also a sniper. It has accompanied me for a long time, and my 14,434 kills, which are steadily rising, show how long I have been using this piece.

This is my roll:

• Long Barrel
• Enhanced Rounds
• Danger Detected, Danger Defused
• Ensnared

That’s why you need it: This weapon will serve you very well with this roll. With the first two perks, you gain an outstanding range bonus. The last two perks focus on clearing ads. With this weapon in my loadout, I always have the upper hand, so try the MP out. You will be amazed at what a razor this little device is.

Disunity SR4 (Master)

Nostalgic memories overwhelm me at the sight of this weapon. Back in Destiny 1, I acquired this piece from the Dead Orbit leader “Arach Jalaal.” At that time, it came with the perks “Triple” and “Firefly.” This was the weapon that never left my loadout. Therefore, this good piece is also listed here at last.

This is my roll:

• Small Caliber
• Enhanced Rounds
• Overflow
• Explosive Payload

That’s why you need it: This weapon has excellent range, followed by clean stability. With the right perks, you can take down any enemy from a safe distance. I would recommend getting the Master version of this weapon because it allows you to equip the powerful “Master Mods.” These give you many advantages, such as increased stability, range, or more damage on bosses.
