Fifakill is a known player and streamer of Call of Duty: Warzone. Throughout his career, he has participated in many tournaments and won some as well. However, he has now received a 3-day ban on Twitch. The reason is said to be the pixel art of a sausage.
Why was Fifakill banned?
On April 9 at around 9:00 PM, streamer Fifakill posted a tweet expressing his surprise at receiving a ban on Twitch. At that time, it was unclear what the reason was.
Both his community and some other streamers were surprised, including ShawnJ, who mentioned Twitch Support twice to raise awareness for the case (via Twitter).
After a little over an hour, Fifakill followed up with a second tweet. In it, he explained that the ban would last for 3 days. He now suspects the reason for the ban is the image of a “party sausage”. He posted this in the chat of another streamer. However, it is not officially known whether this image is indeed the reason for the Twitch ban.

What are the reactions to this? Many consider the ban to be unjustified. The ban policy of Twitch has long been criticized because there are streamers who constantly push the boundaries and go beyond them.
On the other hand, there are bans like that of Fifakill, which appear to be triggered by a small pixel art in the chat. Even though the ban only lasts for three days, there are many comments on Twitter calling the action “ridiculous” and criticizing Twitch for not addressing “real problems” on the platform.
The biggest and most unusual bans on Twitch are covered again in this video:

The 5 biggest Twitch bans that caused a lot of commotion
What is Fifakill doing during his break? The streamer wanted to take a bit more time for his family anyway. Some of his fans now wish him a good break and restful three days before he returns.
Streaming on Twitch is exhausting and encourages streamers to do more and more. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly common for streamers to take longer breaks:
Who is Fifakill anyway? Ethan “Fifakill” Pink is especially well-known in the Call of Duty: Warzone scene. He regularly wins tournaments and rakes in large prize money:
According to the website Esports Earnings, he earned $171,255 solely through prize money in 2021. He ranks 10th among the highest-earning esports players in Warzone (via Dexerto).
He secured the first place in 16 tournaments, including the World Series of Warzone in Trios and several Twitch Rivals.
Fifakill is also very active on Twitch. He has been live on Twitch for 27 of the last 30 days, showing Warzone each time for an average of 7 hours per day. During this time, an average of 2,000 people watched him, peaking at nearly 10,000 viewers.

Is it worth buying the event ticket for Mudkip?
Things to note: If you compare the ticket price of just under €1 with the value of the individual items you get from the research, you will find that the ticket is much cheaper. This is what you would pay in the shop for the items:
A Rocket Radar costs 200 coins in the shop, which is about €2.
For two Incense, you pay 80 coins, which corresponds to about €0.80.
A Lucky Egg can be obtained for 80 coins, equating to €0.80.
In addition, you will receive further interesting rewards through the special research, such as balls, silver Nanab Berries, Stardust, experience points, and Rare Candies.
Who should buy this ticket? The ticket is definitely worth it for trainers who were planning to buy these items anyway. With the ticket price, you are much better off than if you were to obtain the items individually in the shop. Moreover, the tasks are quick and easy to solve.
If you have enough items and don’t necessarily need them, you can also save your money for the event ticket. You can still take advantage of all the other bonuses and spawns of the Community Day Classic featuring Mudkip.
Do you like the tasks for the special research with Mudkip? Which reward would you definitely like to secure? Or do you prefer to play today without a ticket? Feel free to write us your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments.
The Viennese startup Austrian Audio has released a headset and claims: The PG16 – Pro Gaming Headset offers everything a real gamer needs, whether on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox or Mac. We at MeinMMO took a closer look at the headset for three months.
What kind of headset is this? The headset states about itself that it delivers “high-quality pro sound for ambitious gaming.”
It is a closed and wired headset. It does not come with its own volume control on the headset itself; anyone who wants to adjust the sound must download the program “Spatial Sound Card L”, for which the license is included.
The ear cups are covered using the “over-ear” technique, utilizing a memory foam that conforms to the listener’s ears.
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
This is how I tested the headset: The headset was released at the end of January 2022. We at MeinMMO had the opportunity to test the headset from the beginning of January. I used the headset in my daily life for about 3 months: I tested the PG16 while gaming, during calls, in team conferences, as a recording device in the podcast, and while listening to music. I used it on a PC.
I only sporadically used the included software “Spatial Sound L” during testing. Overall, the software seemed complicated, unwieldy, and error-prone to me. Furthermore, it can only be used on PC. Users on PS4, PS5, and Xbox do not have this luxury.
In the 90 days that I tested the Austrian Audio PG16, there were no technical problems with the device: For a while, one headphone was not working, but this could be resolved by unplugging and plugging the cable back into the headset. A classic case of “Have you tried turning it off and on again?”
These are the positive sides of the headset: What must be emphasized about the headset is the comfort of the headphones. They sit excellently and even after several hours with the PG16 on my ears, I did not experience the pressure feeling or “hot ears” like with other headsets.
The headphones fit like a glove and after a few moments, you don’t even notice you’re wearing them.
The sound quality of the headset is perfectly fine, especially the bass and lows are well represented – right out of the box.
The microphone is a bit quiet and needs to be turned up in various programs if you don’t want to constantly hear that you’re too quiet and “barely understood.” After the right calibration, however, the quality is good, although hissing sounds come across a bit too sharp.
What are the negative sides of the headset? The headset is already positioned at a recommended retail price of €139, which is on the higher end for a headset. It seems almost minimalist, as there is neither a “mute” button nor a volume control directly on the microphone. Because the headset is already set quite loud out of the box, it was quite a shock when it was plugged in for the first time, and the singer virtually blew my ears off while watching YouTube.
The idea of “lifting the microphone up” and muting it as recommended by the developers with “tilt to mute” seems unfamiliar and also risky: If something goes wrong, you might best-case scenario transmit a cough live in voice chat, or in the worst case, something that could embarrass you to the bone and be brought up for years.
Something similar happened on Twitch in April 2022: A player went to the bathroom while playing Sea of Thieves without properly muting the headset. You can see the reaction here.

Overall, the decision to rely on an external PC program does not seem to have the Austrian developers truly keeping gamers on PlayStation 5 or Xbox in mind. Ultimately, it is a PC headset.
Some critics view the “closed headset” as at most “semi-open” – it does not really isolate: When typing on a mechanical keyboard, the keystrokes can still be clearly heard despite the headset.
A criticism I did not have, but which comes from others, is that the cable of the headset is attached to the right ear cup, and therefore comes out from the “wrong side” for right-handed users; you have the cable in front of your belly if the PC is on the left. It is also criticized that the cable is too short at 1.4 meters (via cashy’s blog).
I could do nothing with the included sound program. Downloading with a physically included code works, but the program did not seem user-friendly, and the function that was promised to me with “surround sound” is not something I need.
The program usually costs €10, but a code is included in the packaging.
Good headset, too far from the gamer as a “gaming headset”
MeinMMO conclusion: The headset, with its minimalist equipment, is indeed a bit unconventional and certainly not designed with “the standard gamer” in mind.
As far as comfort is concerned, the PG16 is a top product.
Sound and audio quality require some tweaking.
You can tell that a developer who really understands sound quality is behind the headset, but gaming and the needs of gamers seem relatively foreign. However, with more experience and practical proximity, very strong headsets could soon come out of Vienna.
For whom is the headset recommended? Anyone who wants to use the headset for calls, music listening, or just for single-player game sounds can certainly recommend the Austrian Audio PG16. Also, anyone who can get the headset at a good price and wants to do something good for their ears should certainly go for it.
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
For whom is the headset not recommended? Anyone who wants to shout instructions to teammates in the heat of battle and then quickly mute to eat a pizza is probably not an ideal choice for the headset. Because they might accidentally mute themselves and end up sharing their pizza crunching with their friends live.
This week, Lost Ark and Black Desert made major headlines. While Lost Ark provided a glimpse into the future, BDO released a large expansion. We have summarized all the important news of the week for you.
The highlights of the week:
Black Desert received a large Winter expansion. This includes new areas, a new class, a solo dungeon, and a new onboarding process that is particularly good for beginners. The player count is currently noticeably increasing, visible on Steam.
The discussion of the week: More and more MMORPGs are focusing on PvE or making changes that lean towards PvE. Is the PvP trend over? We discuss it in the podcast:
Expensive raids in WoW and free weekend in New World
These were the news of the week from the world of MMORPGs at a glance. Tell us, what was your personal highlight? Or have we forgotten something important? Did you experience something exciting that you want to share with us? Feel free to write it to us in the comments here on MeinMMO.
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
For a long time, there has been no MMORPG announcement where PvP and sandbox were not the focus. However, this trend is now changing drastically. All new announcements for existing and upcoming MMOs share a common thread that Alex, Schuhmann, and Leya discuss in the podcast.
If you look at the major MMO announcements of the last year, you quickly notice a pattern: PvP and a large sandbox were clearly at the forefront. Players were supposed to tell the story of their MMORPG through their interactions with each other:
Crowfall – also Crowfall was supposed to take faction wars and PvP in MMORPGs to a new level by resetting faction wars back to zero repeatedly. However, the concept and game failed shortly after its release.
Last Oasis – one of the many sandbox survival MMOs that promised ruthless PvP and quickly went under. The unique feature here were mobile bases, which you had to move through the world map like nomads.
These are just a few of the larger examples.
However, a new era is beginning. The new announcements for existing MMOs and upcoming games all share a common thread. With games like the existing Black Desert Online, or the new Palia and Crimson Desert, a change is coming our way.

In Elden Ring there are many unwritten rules that parts of the community insist on. These also exist in PvE, but especially in PvP of the action RPG, some Souls fans get quite upset if one does not follow their code of honor. MeinMMO author Marko tells them: You haven’t understood the game at all.
If you’ve ever taken a peek into the online communities surrounding Elden Ring, you’ve surely stumbled upon countless discussions about the right way to play. And thus also about all sorts of wrong opinions:
Using magic means you are not playing correctly because that is cowardly. Defeating bosses only in co-op means you never really defeated them. And don’t even think about using a cheese strategy!
However, the worst opinion of all is what these people have about PvP invasions. The players who appear as nasty invaders in your game are supposed to behave honorably. If you, as a crimson villain, heal yourself or—God forbid—do not bow respectfully first, you are playing the game wrong. At least according to these people.
To them I say: If I invade your game and you insist on bowing, I am more than happy. Because then I can play the PvP mode in Elden Ring as it’s intended – that is, by coldly and disrespectfully taking you down.
PvP invasions are meant for you to play unfairly!
As players on reddit have already noted, with the great success of Elden Ring came a new trend: a subgroup of players who hate PvP invaders.
In Elden Ring, you can invade the worlds of other players with certain items. You then appear as a crimson phantom. Your goal is as direct and simple as it gets because you must kill the host of the other world.
Unlike in other FromSoftware games, as an invader you can only show up in the worlds of players who are in co-op. With the Lingering Finger Remedy item, you can allow invaders in your world as a solo player, but very few people use this option.
In our video, we briefly explain how this works:
Start video
Everything you need to know about the multiplayer in Elden Ring
Many people online complain about invaders. They are ‘unfair’ and ruin the enjoyment of the game. The least invaders could do is fight ‘fair’. Here there are strictly defined behavior rules to follow:
Magic is frowned upon. You may only fight with melee weapons. But not with those that are too good, see point 1.
You must not heal yourself. If you get hit, well then you were just too bad and cannot recover with a completely common and normal mechanic.
You must not just start fighting! When encountering your opponent on the battlefield, it is good etiquette to bow first and politely wait for the opponent.
Those who follow these rules are pleasant invaders. It is said that you want to fight against this kind of player in PvP.
In PvP, I almost always fight alone against groups. Of course, I then use all tricks to win.
But I wonder: What is the point here? I invade your world unsolicited as a crimson invader. I am automatically outnumbered because I mostly encounter opposing teams. And then I’m also supposed to play politely?
Just to remind you: the NPC who teaches you about PvP invasions in Elden Ring most likely killed your maiden and mocks you for it. Moreover, this NPC worships a bloodthirsty sadist and child kidnappers.
Why should a player who imitates this NPC play fairly?
The whole fantasy and purpose behind invasions is that it is fun to be nasty. You are supposed to ruin the fun of a group of warriors. That is explicitly your task as an invader.
Those who want to play by the gentleman’s rules should use the Duelist’s Finger. This item is specifically designed for this purpose in the game: to have fair, balanced PvP duels with like-minded and equally skilled opponents who are also looking for such duels.
As an invader, it’s not my job to treat you fairly or respectfully. It’s my job to kill you, no matter how. And that’s exactly how I will play, because that’s exactly the kind of playstyle the game wants me to demonstrate.
Invasions in Elden Ring are meant to be unfair, just as “Don’t Starve” is meant to make you angry and in “Among Us” you have to lie and betray your friends: these emotions are an explicit part of the fun of the game and are completely calculated and intended.
Getting upset about invaders and calling them unfair party poopers is not insulting, it’s a compliment. Because it shows that I am playing the role exactly as envisioned by the developers.
So feel free to insult me, keep whining that I am unfair, and bow anytime again. It just makes it easier for me to slaughter you with my fun Blood Build – just as FromSoftware intends me to do.
Is it possible to play Elden Ring wrong? – Only if you dictate to others how they should play
This problem in PvP stands as a representative for a much larger problem in the Souls community. The elitist arrogance of a certain part of the fanbase. It is about people who think they understand the game better than the developers themselves; people who get angry when someone dares to play as a mage in co-op – in a game that includes mages and co-op.
My opinion on this is quite clear: Yes, you can play Elden Ring wrong. But only when you accuse other players of playing the game “wrong”.
Unfortunately, this type of player exists in the community in abundance. They at some point invented a holy code for FromSoftware games that they would love to impose on all players. It is the immortal two words that they believe every “true Souls fan” must follow: “git gud”.
“Git gud” is the most terrible, annoying, absolutely insufferable mentality with which you can play Elden Ring. This dreadful mantra is a distorted exaggeration and means something like “just play better”.
This motto has given countless potential Souls fans a false image of FromSoftware games, possibly driving them away forever. Because you do not have to react better than physically possible to be successful in Elden Ring.
Anyone who cleverly utilizes the countless mechanics in the game can succeed. And that’s what makes the games so good: the difficulty is high, but you can always win in some form. The game provides you with enough possibilities to do so.
Elden Ring does not dictate how I should play “honorably.” But parts of the community do.
The players from the “Git Gud” cult do not see it that way. They believe that quick reactions and ‘honorable’ melee combat are the only correct way to play Elden Ring. For completely inexplicable reasons, they believe they understand Elden Ring better than the developers themselves.
The following things that FromSoftware has painstakingly, intelligently, and cautiously implemented into the game are forbidden for this cult:
Invaders acting like devious villains – as intended by the story.
The majority of rewards in the open world are spells, ashes of war, and spirit ashes. If it were up to these purists, they would all be a complete waste of time for players and developers.
And then you read online how these ‘noble purists’ are grinding their teeth on bosses because their pure melee builds do not work flawlessly on every boss. Again and again they get beaten – because they are playing Elden Ring wrong, precisely because they do not want to play the game “wrong”.
The game and the entire design philosophy behind it tells players: exploit all these possibilities! Every unlocked spell is a clear hint with a fence post. Instead, certain players insist that this fence post may only be used for stupidly hitting.
In every mechanic and every bit of game design, there is so much work and so much thought put in that it is heretical not to use them. If you have issues in Elden Ring and feel that a boss or an invader is too unfair, that is your self-created problem.
If you also insist on bringing down other players so that your own misery feels worthwhile in some way, there is only one right answer: git gud.
You can easily do this with our guides, tricks, and tips! You can find a practical overview here:
In the world of MMORPGs, there are three highlights this week that players can get or use for free. You can secure a full version of Black Desert, get one of the coolest expansions in ESO for free, and play New World for a weekend without purchase.
What are these actions?
Black Desert is completely free for PC right now. You just need to visit the Steam page or the BDO website and grab an account. There is currently a sale for PS4, PS5, and Xbox, where you can save 50%. This promotion runs until April 13.
The Elder Scrolls Online is giving away the Morrowind expansion. If you own an ESO account, you can pick up the expansion for free in the Crown Store. You can get an account for just €19.99, or you can use the Xbox Game Pass, which also includes the base game. The promotion runs for a “foreseeable future.”
If you have always wanted to try New World but do not want to spend €40, you can play the MMORPG for free this weekend. This lasts until Monday, April 11 at 7:00 PM. Until April 18, there is also a 40% discount when purchasing through Steam.
Black Desert offers a new and easier entry
Why should you take advantage of the offer at Black Desert? Black Desert is especially convincing with its strong graphics, detailed character editor, and action-packed combat system, which many consider to be the best that the MMORPG genre has to offer.
Additionally, the latest expansion “Eternal Winter” was released on April 6, which can be played for free. It brought new areas, a new class, and a completely new entry into the snowy regions.

Black Desert Online: New Class Drakania Gameplay Trailer
New are also the fully voiced cutscenes, a better story, solo dungeons, and the so-called Progression Pass. This is a compendium of quests, tutorials, and achievements that you can achieve with a new character. These tasks include:
Completing the main quest from various regions
Gathering and leveling professions
Unlocking mounts
Completing game tips, such as how to improve gear, use buff food, or navigate the menus
For each completed section, there is an individual reward and also a total reward for progress in the entire pass. So, if you don’t know what to do in Black Desert, you can orient yourself around this pass.
Overall, Black Desert has become more accessible in recent years. We have also summarized this again in this special:
Why should you take advantage of the offer at ESO? ESO is currently giving away the Morrowind expansion, which was released in 2017. In it, you explore the area of Vvardenfell from The Elder Scrolls 3, which has made many fans of the role-playing series very happy.
You can expect new areas and story content, which are fully voiced in German as usual. Our colleagues at GameStar rated the expansion very highly with a score of 88, praising particularly the atmosphere and the new raid (via GameStar).
If you have played ESO and do not own Morrowind, you should log in now and quickly secure the expansion. However, if you purchased a complete package of expansions in recent years, you will not benefit from this offer.

New World does many things differently but not everything well
Why should you take advantage of the offer at New World? New World was released at the end of September 2021 and has already gone through six eventful months. At first, it caused a huge hype and over 900,000 concurrent players on Steam, but then followed disillusionment and criticism over bugs, exploits, and bots.
Everything you need to know about the New World endgame – in 2 minutes
If you hesitated to buy New World due to the many negative headlines or the initial costs, you should definitely take advantage of the free weekend. It is aimed mainly at players who enjoy exploring, crafting, and seeking an active combat system with dodging abilities.
A certain inclination towards grinding and PvP should also exist, as both play an important role.
What do you think about the current offers of MMORPGs in April? Which of the three games can you recommend and do you have any other tips for players who do not want to spend money?
A possible alternative is also Lost Ark, an MMORPG that is free to play anyway. Here we reveal how the future of the game looks:
In Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands there is a new update available for the game. This changes some aspects of the Wonderlands – but players miss important fixes.
What is this update? A new hotfix is here, bringing Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands to version 1.0.1e. One of the key points in the update is a new mini-event that will run from April 8th to April 14th.
What is this event? The event is called “Optional Opportunities” and aims to take you away from the main quest and into optional areas: In the regions “Knot Drift” and “Crop Mountain,” more loot enemies will appear, from which you can secure powerful weapons.
Additionally, a new “Feature Run” will be available in the Chaos Chambers, the endgame of the Wonderlands, which you can enter after the main story. Here you can complete a run that is the same for all players – and you can compare your performance with the rest of the community.
What the Wonderlands update brings – and what is still missing
What else is in the update? Among other things, the update brings damage increases for some weapons. This applies to:
Hyperius shotguns
Blackpowder shotguns
Feriore shotguns
Skuldugger machine guns
Dahlia machine guns, on the other hand, will be nerfed.
There are also bug fixes that could disrupt the game. These include disappearing waypoints, extra fire for the healing marshmallows spell, or corrected abilities.
However, these are mainly minor bugs. A complete overview can be found on the official page.
Start video
Everything you need to know about Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – in 3 minutes
What is missing? While the changes themselves are received positively, players still miss fixes for more serious bugs in the game. These affect both the user interface and co-op aspects.
“I hope we will get some splitscreen fixes soon. The inventory bug is really annoying,” writes user “Fresh-Celebration240” (via reddit). This is an issue where weapons in splitscreen inventory are not displayed correctly, which significantly hampers the fun of the game.
“A patch for the microphone issues when playing with others on different platforms would be nice. That’s the biggest problem I’ve had with the game,” writes another user (via reddit).
Several players also demand that issues with crossplay in Wonderlands be fixed: “The game is almost unplayable with my friends. We are spread across Xbox and PC, and every fight blocks the PC players. Once the fight is over, everything is fine again,” writes user Timex1977 (via reddit).
Moreover, several players report issues with co-op play and additional bugs in Wonderlands.
However, it should be noted that this new hotfix is more of a minor update, focusing mainly on the event. This has also been seen with Borderlands 3, where weekly hotfixes were released that primarily fixed minor issues.
It is quite possible that “bigger” problems will also be addressed in a potential larger update.
PlayStation Plus has changed its subscription structure and now offers you 3 different subscriptions for PS5 and PS4. MeinMMO breaks down the individual contents, shows the costs, and gives recommendations on which package is best for you.
PS Plus has been available since 2010 and has undergone many changes since then. However, the biggest adjustment is yet to come: In June 2022, the subscription will split into 3 different offers.
An interesting new feature for PS Plus customers, but also a new decision. For example, the streaming service “PS Now” will be integrated into the offer.
To help you know which subscription will be best for you in the future, here are the contents, costs, and an assessment of who each package is suitable for.
PlayStation Plus: Essential – The “I don’t care” package
Costs
Monthly: 8.99 €
Quarterly: 24.99 €
Annually: 59.99 €

Who is Essential suitable for? If you only need PS Plus for online gaming or spend little time on the PlayStation, go for the cheapest package. There are only minor changes compared to the regular Plus subscription.
As of now, however, you will receive one less free game per month and get one PS4 and one PS5 game.
The nearly 20 available games from the PS Plus Collection remain included in the Essential subscription for owners of a PS5 (via twitter.com).
PlayStation Plus: Extra – For Frequent Players
Costs
Monthly: 13.99 €
Quarterly: 39.99 €
Annually: 99.99 €
Content
2 games for free download per month
Exclusive offers in the PS Store
Cloud storage for your game saves

400 games for download (PS4/PS5)
Who is Extra suitable for? If you spend a lot of time on your PlayStation and like to play through a solo title, then the Extra subscription is worth looking into.
If you are someone who regularly browses the PlayStation Store to snag a hidden gem, then this subscription is perfect for you. Because the 400 games invite you to explore.
For an additional €40 a year, you gain access to up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. Even if you were to buy just 2 games from that list in a year, you would likely already offset the Extra costs.
If you also have gaming friends with the Extra package, you will also need less persuasion if you want to try something new from the offer. Because everyone already has access to the game.
PlayStation Plus: Premium – PC and Nostalgia Bonus
Costs
Monthly: 16.99 €
Quarterly: 49.99 €
Annually: 119.99 €
Content
2 games for free download per month

Game Trials for some AAA titles
400 games for download (PS4/PS5)
Stream PS4 games from Extra package
340 games for streaming
PS3 games only for streaming
PS1, PS2, PSP games for download and streaming
Who is Premium suitable for? If you are not a die-hard PlayStation classic fan, you should only choose this package if you have a good internet connection.
While you do get many PS1, PS2, and PSP games for download, the core of the package is the ability to stream PS3 and PS4 games. You can even stream the PS4 games that are included in the Extra package.
Additionally, you get the ability to stream games on your PC, experiencing many PlayStation-exclusive experiences on your computer. Streaming the games on PS4 and PS5 is also possible.
Generally, you should only opt for the package if you are into retro games or if the additional €20 is worth it to you per year to play PS4 games on PC.
Personal conclusion: I have been a member of PS Plus almost continuously since its launch and have only touched a fraction of the games that were included for free in the subscription.
Still, the offer has always been worth it for me overall – even before online multiplayer became part of the subscription. It’s usually enough if just 2 or 3 of the free games fit in a year and you’ve already made back the Essential package.
With the new offer, I will go for the Extra package.
If there’s nothing to play on a given evening, I like the idea of simply browsing a library of hundreds of games and starting something new without having to load PayPal again.
That’s worth the €40 a year to me. If it’s a multiplayer title, I’ve hit the jackpot. That’s why I will definitely take the Extra package for a year.
I’m also interested in which package you’re picking up at launch. Are you sticking with Essential for now and waiting for the game lists, or like me, are you leaning towards browsing on a quiet evening? Feel free to leave a comment on the topic.
And once again there is a new speedrun record for Elden Ring. The open-world game offers hundreds of hours of gameplay, yet it can be completed extremely quickly. For the latest record, the player only needed to defeat one boss.
This is the new record time: With 12 minutes and 13 seconds, the player Distortion2 has set the new record for Elden Ring. Just shortly before, he had caused a stir with a record of 12 minutes and 32 seconds. A month ago, the record was still at 37 minutes.
This is a so-called “Any%” run, where anything that the game offers is allowed. Dying and other things are permitted, but usually lead to a restart anyway, since a respawn consumes too much time.
Only Malekith had to be dealt with for the record
This is how he did it:
As in many other speedruns, Distortion2 started with the Samurai class.
He also used a so-called “zip” or “meta zip” glitch to skip areas.
This glitch is complicated to perform, but is crucial for such speedruns. The player used an audio signal to get the timing just right.
With the right timing and the correct input at the right time, he can essentially pull himself across the map like on a zipline. This allows him to skip entire regions like Limgrave or Liurnia.
After the tutorial, he uses the zip glitch to reach Liurnia. There he collects the frozen axe, as this weapon is important for the remaining course of the speedrun.
He then glitches further until he lands in Farum Azula. Here he has to fight the only boss of the entire speedrun: Malekith.
He manages this quite easily thanks to routine, despite being a starting character, as the skill of the frozen axe is extremely useful for that. Then he continues with the zipline and, according to his words, the hardest part begins.
Before the gate to the final boss, he glitches again with the zipline through the ground. This costs him a few attempts. When he finally succeeds, he lands in the boss fight with Godfrey. But suddenly the echo of the final boss appears in his inventory and the speedrun is successful.
When you watch the run, you can see how experienced the player is. Many of the steps require a very rapid sequence of key combinations. Timing and perfection are crucial.
“I can’t believe this game has been broken faster than any other Souls game”
This is how the community reacts: Under the video, players express their amazement. Many have just admired an older record that was set only a day earlier and are surprised that this has already been beaten.
Many also compare the speedruns with those from other FromSoftware games and are surprised at how fast it is in Elden Ring, even though the game is many times larger than, for example, Dark Souls 2: “I can’t believe this game has been broken faster than any other Souls game. This is faster than the fastest DS2 speedrun. Good job!” – chasetheman
Other speedrunners also commented on this record and are now aiming for the first sub-10-minute run.
Why are speedruns so popular in the community? On the one hand, speedrunners like to push the mechanics of a game to the limit and see what is possible.
On the other hand, it is of course about being the fastest and setting records. Especially with games from FromSoftware like Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne or Sekiro, there is an active speedrunning community with various categories. The appeal here is that these games have a reputation for being particularly challenging.
The most common are the Any% runs, but there are virtually endless possibilities. For instance, there are speedrunners who complete the game without dying.
Some play the games with special controllers like musical instruments or dance mats. Players constantly surpass themselves with new record times. Perhaps there is already a new one while I’m writing this article.
But what do you think of speedruns? Do you find it interesting? Or do you have no interest in it? Do you watch them or maybe even try it yourself?
Are you looking for a new mount in Lost Ark? Then you should perhaps check out Twitch soon – unicorns are being handed out there.
What kind of mount is this? If you secure the Twitch Drop, you will receive a so-called “unicorn mount selection box.”
You will then have the choice of a total of four unicorn variants. You can see how they might look here:
You can choose one
In addition, you will receive 1,000 amethyst shards. This is a currency that you can only obtain through achievements, Twitch Drops, and Prime Gaming. You can then exchange them in-game – for more mounts, but also companions, emotes, or crystalline aura.
This is how you get the current Twitch Drop with unicorn
When are the Twitch Drops active? The Twitch Drop with the unicorn box and the shards will be unlocked on April 12, 2022, at 11:00 PM. This is one hour before the official G4TV tournament for Lost Ark, which will be broadcasted starting April 13 at 00:00 AM.
This tournament is also crucial for the drops, as on April 12 they will only be available to tournament participants and select co-streamers. Between April 13 and May 9, the drop will also be available in the Lost Ark Creator Program.
This is how you get the Twitch Drop: It is important that you have linked your Twitch account to your Steam account and that Twitch Drops for Lost Ark are active. If you have not done this yet, you can do so via the official Lost Ark website.
Once you have done that, you just need to select a stream with the corresponding drop and watch for a total of 2 hours. After that, you should receive the in-game bonuses.
In itself, this is nothing unusual. One participates in a tournament and if it doesn’t work out, one is out. And Timmy, as the tournament organizer, initially remained calm and moderated the tournament smoothly.
However, the discussion started on Twitter afterward. Players commented on the performance of both, and a small dispute developed between the actual team members.
It all started with a clip posted by the Doc, which is supposed to show the reason they were eliminated.

In it, you can see how both are increasingly in trouble. While Tim is driving in a truck, Dr. Disrespect is fighting against other players in a building. When the Doc finally bites the dust, both start yelling at each other.
After the defeat, the Doc wasn’t done with the story and aired it out on Twitter. However, Timmy didn’t let it slide: “After I saw that, I decided that I’m still right and you are wrong.”
The Doc accuses Tim of poor communication. However, Tim believes that the Doc was the issue in the situation. He even left out parts of the scene, a whole minute is missing.
The Doc also has a response to that: “That makes you look even worse. That means you drove the truck around for over a minute.”
This continues for quite a while. But how do the viewers see it?
Criticism for both, but especially the Doc comes off poorly
This is what players say about the dispute: Many other commentators see the problem here less with Tim than with Dr. Disrespect.
Some criticize, for example, that the Doc did not communicate adequately. Twitter user Myth writes: “Doc … Your silence in this clip makes me want to smash my damn monitor.”
According to viewers, Timmy had a total of more kills during the tournament and survived longer than Dr. Disrespect.
However, there are also people who defend the Doc here. They believe Tim should have better adjusted to his partner. Torsar writes: “He yells at Doc to communicate when there’s a kill feed showing him what’s going on. Tim knows that Doc is an aggressive player. How many times does he have to play with Doc before he learns that?”
Both had different match plans that were good in their own right.

Who actually won? Here are the top 3 of the tournament:
1. Fifakill and Jukeyz
2. Scummn and UnRationaL
3. Rated and Mayappo
Whether Tim and the Doc had a realistic chance of winning, we will probably never know. But what do you think? Did you follow the tournament? Who do you see more at fault here and what do you think was the reason?
The well-known streamers Dr. Disrespect and TimTheTatman hosted their own tournament in CoD Warzone : “2v2 Kill Race”. The tournament promised a high prize pool of 140,000 euros and both had big plans. However, that ended in a dispute on Twitter.
What kind of tournament is this? It’s called 2v2 Kill Race, and in this tournament, only duos compete. The organizing duo also participated, namely Doc and Timmy.
Here’s how it went: A total of 32 duos or 64 players participated in the tournament. The regular battle royale playlist was used.
There weren’t many restrictions. Aside from the usual ban on cheats and exploits, it wasn’t allowed to use planes or helicopters. If a player ends up in the Gulag, they can only return if their teammate is still alive. You can find an overview of this on the tournament page.
A prize pool of 150,000 US dollars, or around 140,000 euros, was announced for the tournament. The winnings were distributed as follows:
1st place: 66,000 dollars
2nd place: 33,000
3rd place: 18,000
4th place: 12,000
5th place: 7,500
6th place: 3,000
TimTheTatman participated in the duo as the host alongside Dr. Disrespect. However, things went quite differently than they had imagined. Because they were already eliminated in the qualifier round.
Who are they anyway? TimTheTatman and Dr. Disrespect are two of the biggest streamers on YouTube. Tim is particularly active in Warzone, while the Doc plays almost all major shooters. Both were originally on Twitch. The Doc switched due to an involuntary ban, but it paid off. Between 25,000 and 40,000 viewers currently follow his streams on YouTube, which is significantly more than during his Twitch days. Both often stream together. Both are also completely different types. While Dr. Disrespect takes on the role of a loud macho for his viewers, Tim is more himself.
“He could have exited and killed the last guy.”
Before the round of the best participants even started, the qualifier round took place on April 6 to determine the top 8 teams for day 2.
However, for Timmy and the Doc, the tournament was already over after just a few hours. They were killed by a sniper, as you can see in the video:

In Pokémon GO, there will be a change to the special candy sources. However, the announcement is not well received by some trainers.
Basically, you will still receive special candies from raids and from the PvP league – and now also from gifts from friends.
But as the official Niantic support account announced via Twitter, the chances of obtaining candies from these sources will be adjusted.
Trainers, we are adjusting the opportunities to obtain special candies in the game. The chances of receiving special candies in raids will be slightly reduced and slightly increased in the GO Battle League, and you can now also receive special candies in gifts. #PokémonGO
It is still unknown how significant the changes will be. However, it is clear that the Pokémon GO raids will likely yield fewer candies in the future, while matches in the PvP league will yield more candies.
What are special candies? Special candies in Pokémon GO can be used to level up your Pokémon. It doesn’t matter which Pokémon it is – special candies work for all Pokémon. They are especially useful for rare Pokémon, whose specific candies are hard to obtain.
Change in candy sources sparks discussion
The rare item levels up your Pokémon
This is what the community says: In the Pokémon GO subreddit, there is already discussion about the change. Most comments are critical. Many trainers apparently have no interest in competing in the PvP league and would prefer the focus on special candies to remain on raids:
“Another way Niantic seems to be “punishing” certain players who don’t want to play a specific aspect of the game. Why not just leave the amount of special candies the same in raids, but increase or improve the rewards in PvP to motivate players, rather than punishing those who don’t want to play GBL?” commented one user: “And I say this as someone who plays a lot of GBL.”
“They want to make people go outside by nerfing incense, and then players end up spending more time at home playing GBL. Logic,” criticized User “Kennyy_xd” (via reddit). Recently, Niantic made changes that were supposed to send players back outside – which also led to discussions.
“That’s frustrating. I’m not interested in PvP because I have no interest in competitive play,” commented User LimboSkunk (via reddit): “There’s nothing Niantic can do to spark my interest in GBL because the nature of competitive play doesn’t interest me. On the other hand, I do many raids precisely because of the special candies. Why am I being punished for that?”
The PvP league has already been a frequent topic of criticism among many trainers, as errors can affect the gaming experience. However, there are also a few comments that view the change as not so bad:
Unpopular opinion: This seems more friendly to F2P players who typically need special candies the most. Even though it’s time-consuming to obtain special candies through GBL, they at least have this opportunity,” writes User “Teban54” (via reddit): “We also don’t know if the special candies from gifts will be enough to compensate for the loss of special candies from daily raid passes, but it might happen, and I remain optimistic that it will.”
For now, it remains to be seen how significant the changes will actually be. Let’s hope they won’t be too negative – after all, the announcement also mentions “slight” adjustments.

WoW demon Cortyn was fed up with the shadow priest in World of Warcraft. But then the tier set came and changed everything.
Even though my first real character was a fire mage, I have always been a “priest main” since the launch of “The Burning Crusade”. I liked the idea of a shadow priest, especially the story behind it always appealed to me. I enjoyed the playstyle, I liked being the “mana battery” in Burning Crusade and later just a pesky DOT machine.
The shadow priest definitely peaked in Legion. The playstyle was fast, comparatively complex, and the abilities felt really great after the rework, plus we had our “knife” Xal’atath, for whom we were happy to kill everyone.
Shadow priest became increasingly strange
But with Battle for Azeroth, I received my first real setback. The class became slower, the abilities somehow no longer worked well together, and the playstyle I loved so much with Legion was gone. With enough tempo, you could compensate for that at the end of the expansion – but the same problem arose in Shadowlands.
And honestly, that drove me nuts. In boss fights and fights with few enemies, it is quite manageable to be a useful member of the group, I can keep up well with the other DPS.
But as soon as it comes to fights with 6, 7, or even more enemies, I have to rotate like crazy if I want to keep up.
Yes, I know. Some will now say: “But DPS is not everything, don’t focus so much on it.”
But I can’t. For me, it is part of the enjoyment of the game to be a good group member who fulfills their part of the requirements. If I fall far behind other DPS classes, it annoys me. It gnaws at me, no matter if it is due to the current balancing or my playstyle. I am well aware that not every class can be on top in every situation, but if I fall too far behind, it robs me of the fun of the game. I am too ambitious for that and also enjoy having to perform. I like the feeling of knowing: I have fulfilled my part here. I actively contribute to the group’s success. I am useful to the team.
The tier sets also look great visually. Image source: wowhead
The current dungeon affix “Encrypted” doesn’t help either. Because 2 of the 3 floating runes that some groups have, I am not allowed to attack. This means: “Tabbing through and dotting everything” is not possible. I have to manually click on each mob or its nameplate to not be the fool who killed the Wo-relic in a boss fight.
What annoys me the most is that in situations where I fall behind with large groups of enemies, I know (and now demon hunter fans should cover their ears or eyes): If I simply switched to my demon hunter, I would only need to press 5 buttons and could easily keep up. Eye laser, fire aura, rush through the enemies, reduce cooldown of eye laser and repeat until everything is destroyed.
Actually, I wanted to delete my priestess and let her sit at least until the next addon.
But then my tier set came.
The shadow laser made everything better
Because I was quite lucky with loot in our raid, I got the 4-piece bonus of my set fairly early.
And to be honest, that changed everything for me.
For those who don’t know the bonuses:
2-piece bonus: The use of ‘Devouring Plague’ has a 40% chance to grant ‘Dark Thoughts’.
4-piece bonus: When you consume ‘Dark Thoughts’, your shadow is animated after a short delay and deals all enemies within 10 meters of your target ~3,000 shadow damage over 6 seconds.
A “Dark Thought” is a buff that allows me to cast a Mind Spike (a direct damage attack) without a cast time and not have to wait on the cooldown. Once “Dark Thoughts” is triggered, I immediately have a Mind Spike ready.
With each of these instant Mind Spikes, “my shadow is animated” – and wow, this effect looks cool. A big black shadow rises from my character’s back, lingers for a second, and then starts firing a black beam at my current target, dealing area damage.
The “shoulder shadow” is quite imposing – and remains active for a long time.
Just the visual effect is magnificent. A big shadow ghost “spawns” from my character’s back. The already ancient spawn animation of these creatures fits so wonderfully, that it’s almost eerie. It looks as if this being is carving a way to freedom out of my Draenei’s back, enjoying a moment of its freedom and then firing the death laser.
Additionally, the “shoulder shadow” is not limited to 6 seconds. If I manage to consume multiple “Dark Thoughts” in a row, the shadow will also stay longer. I have already managed to extend the shadow’s timer to 12, 18, 24, and even 30 seconds.
And that feels immensely satisfying. The tier set has solidly compensated for one of the biggest drawbacks of the shadow priest, namely its lack of mobility. Not only can I cast an instant Mind Spike much more often – and move a few meters to avoid effects – but my shadow Klaus from the shoulder also keeps casting, whether I stand, run, or dance.
In fights with a single target, the shadow makes up between 9% and 11% of my damage – sometimes more, sometimes less. In fights with many stacked enemies, it can even climb to up to 15%.
Pewpew. Double laser from the shadow team.
The only downside is that the tier set hardly changes the playstyle of the shadow priest. While other classes suddenly have to use new rotations or priorities for their abilities, the shadow priest essentially does exactly the same – just the difference being that “Mind Spike” occasionally lights up more frequently and wants to be thrown in.
But that’s okay. Because the feeling of gameplay that arises solely from the presence of the shadow spirit rising from my back makes up for it clearly.
The ghost keeps lasering even when you take a break yourself.
I feel powerful when the spirit bursts forth from my character and fires its black death laser at the enemies, even when I have to dodge an ability or get stunned in the interim of a boss monologue. The shadow spirit doesn’t know breaks – and it seriously does a great job.
If Blizzard brings similarly strong tier sets with cool effects in the next expansion, I will probably remain loyal to my priestess for a long time. Because this tier set alone has ensured that I want to continue playing her at least in this season.
So please: More of that. A lot more.
Have you had similar experiences with tier sets? How do you like the bonuses of your class?

These are the new cards: As the name already suggests, the new special cards feature footballers who have led their teams as captain or vice-captain onto the pitch. The special thing about this FUT promo is that both current and former footballers have received new special cards.
There are now even stronger versions of FUT Hero cards like Di Natale (93), Milito (93), Ljungberg (92), and Dempsey (91). But current stars like Reus (93), Ben Yedder (92), and Günter (88) also receive really strong cards.

The livestream platform Twitch has come up with something new and special for its streamers: the SUBchallenge. What it’s about and why neither viewers nor streamers seem particularly enthusiastic about it is reported by MeinMMO.
What is the SUBchallenge? The SUBchallenge is about gaining new subscribers for your Twitch channel. This is achieved when users gift subscriptions on the channel or subscribe themselves. Only the subscribers collected during the challenge period count towards the rewards, not those that the streamer already has.
What rewards are available? Only the streamer receives the rewards that the viewers pay for him in the form of subscriptions. There is a tier system that determines which gifts the streamer receives:
When does the SUBchallenge start? The challenge begins on April 11 at 12:01 AM and ends on April 24 at 11:59 PM.
Who can participate? Only official Twitch partners can sign up, meaning those who have a purple symbol with a checkmark next to their name. A maximum of 300 partners can register for the challenge in Germany. Otherwise, it will only take place in England, France, Italy, and Spain.
What do streamers and the community say about this? Both the streamers and the community find the rewards disproportionate to the required subscriptions. Streamer Razzortainment noted that almost 22,000 euros (for 5,500 subs) must be raised to receive gifts worth about 650 euros (via Twitter).
Because the streamer only receives the gifts that are listed in the respective subscription category. For example, with 750 subs, he gets the scarf, the metal mug, the ring light, and the 20-euro voucher, but not the rewards for 250 subs on top.
We have gathered statements from the community and streamers for you:
Twitter user Liiiiin says: “No… somehow, just no. First, the ‘prizes’ are quite weak, and in the end, this whole thing probably just exerts pressure and leads to frustration when goals aren’t met.”
The streamer tyraphine says: “I fundamentally don’t participate. The sub-goals and ‘prizes’ are not proportionate to the costs for the community. And giving away the prizes feels rather hypocritical. I/Twitch get about 2,000 euros, and the community gets a scarf as thanks? Hmm, not really (via Twitter).“
synthie_ sees it from a different perspective: “Twitch sees it a bit differently – they assume that sub-growth is one of the main goals of every streamer. They also offer a few goodies. Is that cool? No, but it’s also not a big deal (via Twitter).”
Others complain that smaller partners are excluded from the action. They are unable to generate such large sums of subscriptions – therefore, they also do not receive rewards. This action is only something for the bigger ones.
In addition, some users find it unfortunate that the community effectively gets nothing from the rewards; although one can support their favorite streamer this way, those who want to do so will do it anyway.
Thus, Twitch faces little favor overall with this action from the streamers and the community.

April 1 Event: In previous years, Niantic has come up with fun events that turned Pokémon GO upside down for a short time. In 2021, Team Rocket only battled with Grimer on this day. One of the craziest ideas for April 1 was this event with pixel graphics that confused trainers. On April 1, 2022, Niantic says that “a mysterious event begins”
Rocket Team Excursion (April 3 to April 7): During the event, there is supposed to be increased activity from Team GO Rocket.
Earth Week (April 20 to April 25): In the event week, Niantic wants to learn more about the importance of sustainability together with you. A new Pokémon from the Alola region is supposed to appear in Pokémon GO for the first time.
Raids: In April, you have a large selection in raids. For the first time, Tapu Lele enters the game and can be battled in the 5-star raids. Unfortunately not as Shiny. Additionally, you will encounter Thundurus and Landorus in their Incarnate forms, which you can encounter as Shiny. Exciting is also the previously unannounced Mega Pokémon – could it fit in with the found legendary Mega Pokémon?
Spotlight Hours: The Pokémon selection for the Spotlight Hours is rather average. However, there is hope for a new Shiny. The Spotlight Hour on April 5 with Stunky overlaps with the Rocket Team Excursion. It is quite possible that Shiny Stunky will be released at that time. However, this has not yet been confirmed.

In Pokémon GO a Community Day Classic with Mudkip takes place on April 10th, 2022. We at MeinMMO have looked into what to expect on this day and how to make the most out of the event.
What kind of event is this? Every month, a special Community Day takes place in Pokémon GO, focusing on a specific Pokémon. Now there is also a Community Day Classic, focusing on a Pokémon that has previously had a C-Day.
In January, you could encounter the Grass-type Pokémon Bulbasaur during the Community Day Classic. With the Water-type Pokémon Mudkip, this format is now entering its second round. Below, we show you all the information you need to know about the Community Day Classic with Mudkip.

How to make the most of the Community Day Classic with Mudkip
How to prepare: Before the actual Community Day Classic starts, you should make a few preparations. This primarily includes clearing out space in your Pokémon storage. So start sorting out your Pokémon now so that you don’t have to constantly send them during the Community Day.
It is also important to have enough Poké Balls in your item bag. If you want to play for the full 3 hours, we recommend a stock of at least 150 to 200 balls. This way, you can catch Pokémon for a while and won’t need to restock right away.
Items you should use for the Community Day Classic
In addition to space and balls, you should also rely on one or two items. If you want to catch especially many Mudkip, you can activate an Incense or a Lure Module. Since both last for 3 hours during the event, you only need to invest one of each.
Furthermore, there is a triple XP bonus for catching. If you are on your way to level 50 and need more experience points, you should definitely use Lucky Eggs. These last for 30 minutes each and double your XP during that time. Therefore, it is also the perfect time to level up with your friends.
Useful items for the Community Day Classic with Mudkip
Of course, you should also secure as many Mudkip candies as possible on this day, especially if you want to evolve and level up Swampert. To get extra candies, you can use Nanab Berries while catching.
Tip: If you have developed a Mega Pokémon that shares the same type as the Pokémon you want to catch, you will receive an extra candy for that catch. You should definitely take advantage of this opportunity during the Community Day Classic if you want to farm candies.
Since Mudkip is a Water-type Pokémon, Mega Blastoise is a good match. However, Mega Gyarados or Mega Swampert are also good alternatives.
Is the Community Day Classic with Mudkip worth it?
Is there a Shiny Mudkip? Yes, Mudkip can also be found in its shiny form. You can recognize it by its pink body. Typically, the shiny chances are increased during Community Days, so you are likely to encounter at least one.
Mudkip, Marshtomp, and Swampert as Shiny (top) and normal (bottom)
This is how strong Mudkip and its evolutions are: Mudkip is a Water-type Pokémon from Generation 3. It evolves into Marshtomp and then Swampert. While Mudkip and Marshtomp are not particularly strong, you should not underestimate Swampert.
The Water and Ground-type Pokémon scores especially well with high stamina. Its attack and defense stats are also solid. In the GO Battle League, this Pokémon can perform really well and is among the best candidates (via pvpoke.com).
With a moveset of Mud Shot, Hydro Cannon, and Earthquake, it ranks 12th in the Great League. In the Ultra League, it even ranks 6th. The event move Hydro Cannon, which you can acquire during the Community Day Classic, makes Swampert really strong.
Who should use the Community Day with Mudkip? The event is especially worthwhile for trainers who still need a strong Swampert in their team. Since this Pokémon is interesting in both raids and PvP, everyone should find something of value.
Additionally, you can find Mudkip in its shiny form. For those who do not have one in their collection yet, this is the perfect opportunity to encounter one. And don’t forget to take advantage of the XP bonus on this day. This way, you can make significant progress in leveling up.
Will you participate in the Community Day Classic with Mudkip? Or is it not your thing? Let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO.
Paramount Global is an American media company that holds many major licenses, including Star Trek and brands from Nickelodeon. Paramount plans a series of NFT games with some licenses and has now started selling spaceship NFTs – what the game looks like remains completely unclear.
Star Trek was one of the biggest and most popular film and television franchises in the world in the 90s and early 2000s. There was also regular new content for fans in the video game market.
Then there was silence for a while regarding travels to infinite expanses.
Currently, there are again 2 television series running for Star Trek, more movies are set to come, and for gaming fans, an adventure is about to be released (via gamestar.de).
Additionally, there is now a project from rights holder Paramount that is fully focused on NFT content. Initial spaceships are already being offered, but so far, it is unclear what the game will actually look like. MeinMMO presents “Star Trek: Continuum”.
Star Trek: Continuum – Entry into the game costs $250 at launch
What kind of game is this? It’s difficult to say at the moment. Currently, there is only a roadmap with 4 Seasons that provides little indication of what kind of game this is intended to be:
Season 0: NFT ships can be purchased, which you will need for missions
Season 1: NFT crew members will be added – you need them for traveling with the ship
Season 2: You can start missions to collect additional NFT goods
Season 3: More NFTs will come into the game – including planets, characters, species, and more
So far, only Season 0 has a date. The first drop of NFT spaceships will take place then. On April 9th at 5:00 PM our time, the first ship sale will start for 24 hours. The ships of the first drop will cost at least $250 (around €230 / as of April 8, 2022).
It is a game, but what it looks like, whether you can control the ships yourself or just send them on missions regularly, cannot be said at this time.
Pamela Kaufman, President of Consumer Products and Experiences at Paramount, says: “Fans should be able to interact with our content wherever they are, including the Metaverse” (via intl.startrek.com).
Currently, it seems rather that the “game” with the missions is secondary. It is more about a collection of NFTs in “Star Trek” style.
The ships are randomly generated and all a little different.
How can you participate? You can sign up on a Star Trek website (startrek.xyz). Here you buy a ship and become part of the NFT project.
The first batch of ships will be available from April 9th, 5:00 PM for 24:00 hours. Here you need to spend at least around €230 to acquire your part of the new Continuum.
More ships are to follow later, but there is currently no information about the prices of the next batch.
What ships are available? Overall, you have the chance of 6 different ship classes. The whole thing will be organized through the Metaverse marketplace “Recur”.
However, you cannot choose which one you get. It is more like NFT loot boxes:
Offer “Captain Pack”: 6 ship classes
Price: $250
Miranda – 22.23 %
Oberth – 22.23 %
Soyuz – 22.23 %
Class III Carrier – 22.23 %
Constitution – 5.55 %
Constitution Refit – 5.55 %
Offer “Admiral Pack”: 2 ship classes
Recur pass required (about $350)
Price: $250
Constitution – 50 %
Constitution Refit – 50 %
All ships are also visually unique and are created by an automatic algorithm. To gain access to the Admiral Pack, you need to have a pass from the “Recur” marketplace beforehand. The pass offers advantages when purchasing digital goods on the platform.
The price of the pass varies, at the time of the article it was $350.
To promote the NFT project, several actors from the series “Star Trek: Discovery” have also been involved. These include Sonequa Martin-Green, who played Captain Michael Burnham.
Part of the cooperation apparently also involved tweets, and under one post, it can already be clearly seen what fans think of the project (via twitter.com).
Many comments go in the direction of: “I respect you and I hope your agent works overtime to get you out of this scam promotion”.
Because NFTs have a tough standing and are very controversially discussed. When content is sold and an appropriate game is only hinted at, that is quite understandable.
What will come out of the project remains to be seen. In the meantime, Paramount is already planning the next licensed NFTs featuring characters from Nickelodeon.
