In early June, angry players of the “Titan” class in Destiny 2 confronted developer Kevin Yanes because he didn’t bring any good news regarding an exotic item. Now the Community Manager of Bungie makes it clear: This is not acceptable. This type of harassment makes communication increasingly difficult.
This caused anger: The Sandbox Lead of Destiny 2, Kevin Yanes, is someone who is close to the players and enjoys talking to them. In early June, he answered a fan question on his personal Twitter account that emerged after an official blog post by Bungie:
The special feature of the armor was “Tactical Air Support”: Titans could dodge in the air when using the armor.
In a tweet, Yanes explained that this feature of the armor, the “Air Dodge,” should remain exclusive to Warlocks in Destiny 2. The ability to dodge in the air now belongs to the identity of the Warlocks.
Titans will never regain this ability in Destiny 2.
Yanes expressed: He is sorry. But he has to take this band-aid off now, meaning taking hope away from the Titans.

Titans apparently believed that Yanes hated them and granted them no mobility whatsoever. They felt that the “Air Dodge” was their entitlement and not that of the dorky Warlock.
Many of the attacks have since been deleted. However, there are even reports of death threats.
Yanes subsequently removed his tweet and has also withdrawn from Twitter since then. He apparently felt deliberately misunderstood and turned into a punching bag for Titans to vent their disappointment.

When a developer exposes himself and shows himself to be the one explaining and representing such decisions, he often faces the wrath of the fans.
Therefore, developers tend to avoid the stress and refrain from engaging with the fans. When the few people who openly communicate with fans are then attacked like Yanes, it ultimately leads to fans not receiving “honest answers” anymore, but only watered-down PR information.
The legendary gnoll from the Elwynn Forest, Hogger, becomes a laughingstock in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. Fans are upset – and have a solution.
With the new expansion World of Warcraft Dragonflight, Blizzard is significantly improving the graphics for the aging MMORPG. Many old creatures are also being given new models. One of the oldest enemy species, the gnolls, is receiving a comprehensive overhaul. However, this results in the notorious gnoll Hogger losing his appearance – and in the eyes of many fans becoming a complete laughingstock.
What is the problem? Hogger is considered by many players to be the epitome of menace. Even though the appearance of the gnolls has aged significantly, many still associate Hogger with terror and panic. The fact that this once feared character now appears much cuter and less threatening doesn’t sit well with them.
The new Hogger model looks significantly less menacing. Especially the clearly recognizable eyes, the much smaller head, the lighter fur, and the lack of armor contribute to Hogger simply not appearing as threatening as before.

This is how players react: Even though a fundamental graphics overhaul of the gnolls is well received by many, it is primarily the new design of Hogger that is under criticism. In the World of Warcraft subreddit, comments like these are piling up:
“Looks more like Hugger than Hogger. The new model doesn’t look threatening or dangerous at all.”
“Yes, it looks too inappropriate. Too Disney-fied with the eyes and so on […]. Especially sad that Heroes of the Storm got it right, but they [WoW] wanted a cuter direction.”
“His HotS model is great. This model here is nice, but really dampens his viciousness.”
“This is not Hogger. This is a generic, rehabilitated gnoll.”
In short: The new model is not well received by the players.

Hogger has special significance: For newer players, Hogger may just be “any elite” encountered during quests in World of Warcraft. However, veterans have a special connection to Hogger. For Alliance heroes, who began their adventure in Elwynn (especially humans), Hogger was the first elite quest they ever encountered. It was the first time many players were forced to find a group to complete a quest.
At the same time, Hogger also has a high nostalgic value, as it often led to “level 1 Hogger raids,” where 20 or more players gathered to try to defeat Hogger – but at level 1. This was during a time when the world still did not scale to the player’s level.

Community builds better solution in 20 minutes: As is often the case when the player base is not satisfied with content in World of Warcraft, they sit down and create their own solution that they believe looks better. The Reddit user SunwellDaiquiri has restored some of Hogger’s old menace within a few minutes. The fur was darkened and made more shaggy, the tusks were made longer, the eyes returned to their former color, and the shoulder pads appeared more imposing.
This “new new design” has garnered a lot of support within the community. Almost 6,000 upvotes have resulted from this redesign of the gnoll.
Whether Blizzard takes the criticism to heart and reworks the iconic scourge from the Elwynn Forest again remains to be seen. But there are still a few months until the release of Dragonflight.

The player and reddit user remik09 has tested how many legendary items can actually be obtained from Elder Rifts through an experiment. His results after 1,000 portals are:

of which 9 are stronger than what he was already wearing
with a duration of about 2 minutes per Rift, that’s 33 hours and 20 minutes of farming
which corresponds to a drop approximately every 20th Rift or every 40 minutes
It is important that he did not use any emblems, neither rare nor legendary. Therefore, he had no chance of the coveted legendary gems or runes and sparks.

Magic Find does not increase the chance of a drop
This may sound low, but according to remik09, Rifts have an advantage: they do not require a combat rating. This can only be increased through stronger loot or legendary gems.
Many players are currently stuck at Hell 3 because they lack the rating. However, to get better loot, you must meet certain prerequisites.
Here’s how to get better loot: In the reddit thread, players discussed the bonus of the Magic Find value (short ‘MF’). In Diablo games, this usually increases the chance of getting strong items.
However, in Diablo Immortal, the value seems to work differently. The higher the value, the higher your chance is for an item to have good stats, thus representing an upgrade. However, the number of drops remains the same.
To increase the quality, you also need to complete Challenge Rifts. Loot from Hell 3 is possible from Challenge Rift 60 onwards.

For a quick round in between, Elder Rifts are at least worth it if you have little time and are satisfied with a small chance for better loot. remik09 now intends to complete 500 dungeons and determine the chance for loot there. Someone has already tried something similar before:
With patch 12.13, the new champion Nilah was released in League of Legends. She is an AD carry with a short range but very strong passive ability. However, she was so strong at release that a nerf followed within 24 hours. The complaints about Nilah still continue. Additionally, there were other issues with the patch.
What is the champion all about? Nilah is an AD carry with a standard range of 225. This places her on par with melee characters such as Aatrox, Fizz, or Hecarim. However, she can temporarily increase her range when using her “Q” ability.
Through her passive, she shares 50% of the experience from minion kills, which would normally be lost when shared. This applies both to her and other allied champions. Therefore, when playing on the bot lane with a support, both gain more experience points.
Also through the passive, healing and shields from allies are strengthened. Here too, she benefits immediately with the right support.
Nilah can also temporarily become immune to normal attacks (“W”) and has the ability to jump to enemies (“E”).
These abilities and the strong attributes at release led to Nilah being much too strong.
How strong was Nilah? 24 hours after release, Nilah had a win rate of 52.4% across all tiers (via lolalytics). While not extremely high, for a champion that essentially no one knows how to play, it is very dangerous. Riot Games also saw it this way and immediately implemented a nerf.

How did the developers react? Already on July 14, a new patch was released that made some adjustments to Nilah:
Base health reduced from 590 to 570
Base armor reduced from 30 to 27
Healing from passive reduced from 10% to 7.5%
Shields from passive reduced from 20% to 15%
“Q” enhanced attacks reduced from 110% to 100% of damage
Additional attack speed from “Q” reduced from 15-65% (depending on level) to 10-60%
Cooldown of “E” increased from 24/21/18/15/12 to 26/22.5/19/15.5/12
However, these adjustments are still not enough for the players, as she still has a win rate of 51.6% after the update.
Even on the test server, Nilah received multiple nerfs, including for attack speed through “Q” and damage of the ultimate.
What are players demanding? A lot. Many players feel that the nerfs are not sufficient. Unhappy_Window commented on the hotfix briefly: “This is still not enough, in my opinion.”
The biggest point of criticism lies with the experience gain through the passive. It allows Nilah and her support to almost always have a level advantage, regardless of whether the early game goes well or poorly for them.
Some players report on reddit that Nilah can reach level 6 almost a minute before her opponent. For 60 seconds, the player of Nilah has access to the ultimate ability “R”, which creates an advantage in direct combat, but also applies pressure on the lane overall.
In my opinion, it is one of the worst feelings in this game to fall behind in levels. You feel so useless when you are 2-3 levels behind the enemy ADC, and that happens in every game against a Nilah. I have never made a post here to complain about something, but when Nilah comes to lane with a boatload of extra experience points, that is the point where it crosses a line.
Other players complain that Nilah’s “W” is hardly visible (via reddit). The criticism is that Jax throws his weapon in the air and spins it for a block of attacks, while Nilah only gets a blue effect. Especially with the new “Star Guardian” skin, this is said to be hard to see.
The “W” is indeed well visible in a calm environment but can also mark allies and quickly become nearly invisible in team fights.
Patch 12.13 brought many balance issues
What else was problematic about the update? A hotfix was released on July 13 that slightly nerfed Gwen and Sivir. Sivir had received a small rework in patch 12.13, which made her way too strong.
Additionally, on July 15 the now third patch since the release on July 13 introduced adjustments to the new game mode “Ultimate Spellbook” and a buff for Senna.
However, Senna is currently also under heavy criticism, which is why the buff surprised many:

The changes regarding the weekly box have been causing intense criticism from trainers on social networks for weeks. And even the upcoming box cannot change many players’ opinions. This is mainly due to the fact that the number of items has been further reduced.
Some are disappointed and even demand that Niantic should abolish the box. As you can read in the comments on Twitter:

The player Yuki Momochi and her friends organize real theater performances in Final Fantasy XIV that they perform for other players. We at MeinMMO spoke with the head and asked her about her hobby.
About this theater: The roleplaying has been one of the core elements of MMORPGs since the earliest days. After all, they emerged from the classic Pen&Paper role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons or The Dark Eye.
While roleplaying is often neglected in many modern MMORPGs, there are still large RP communities that experience adventures together or even set up cool projects.
This includes the theater troupe led by player Yuki Momochi. To celebrate the premiere of her latest play “The Phantom of the Opera,” we from MeinMMO conducted an interview with her.
“I wanted to perform ‘The Culling of Stratholme’ as a play!” – How it all began
MeinMMO: Hi, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
Yuki: Hello, my online name is Yuki Momochi. I am a gamer, cosplayer, and actually a roleplayer in various universes since my teenage years, back then on forums, now in MMORPGs. I love creative hobbies and especially when I can connect everything.
MeinMMO: What was your entry into MMORPGs?
Yuki: My first MMO was Shaiya, a Korean F2P MMORPG. I discovered it at a friend’s when I was 13 and was so excited that I could interact with other players.
After that came Aion, where I lost myself for a short time. As a student, I sometimes stayed up all night just to play, and with Mists of Pandaria, I entered World of Warcraft. For about 2 years now, I’ve only been playing Final Fantasy 14 in the MMO category.
MeinMMO: How did you specifically get into organizing theater performances?
Yuki: It started with my love for roleplaying, where, like in “Dungeons & Dragons,” you come up with a story for your character or even several, and play it out in an open world.
There was a mod in World of Warcraft called Musician that allowed MIDI files, basically simplified music files, to be played in various instruments or even as a band. I turned my character Intra, a human Worgen, into an opera singer from Gilneas!

MeinMMO: What were the biggest problems with the performances back then?
Yuki: The biggest problem is always finding reliable people. I usually swap some roles several times until I find the final actor.
This has various reasons. Often these individuals realized that it was not for them or there was something going on in real life. Of course, this is always respected and “The Show Must Go On.” So far, it has always worked out.
MeinMMO: Please tell our readers about your current project with your RP friends in FFXIV? Which play is it and why did you choose it?
Yuki: I chose “The Phantom of the Opera” and got others excited about it, as it is my absolute favorite musical. As the director, I usually decide, but it is often a very well-known play or story. In RP, the Phantom of the Opera is a story from Ishgard.
MeinMMO: How do you go about writing the script?
Yuki: I usually look for the original script or the movie online and then start changing, shortening, adjusting the whole thing. For example, if an actor playing a female character is now the Phantom, every “he” changes to “she” or “man” to “woman.” Also, city names like “Rome” are changed to Final Fantasy-friendly names like “Allag.”
The preparation time varies each time. For Hercules (Disney inspired), we needed a total of 3 months, with a rehearsal every week. For Phantom, it takes about the same amount of time. It should also be said that definitely not everyone shows up to every rehearsal; one has to be a bit flexible.

MeinMMO: What do you pay special attention to during rehearsals?
Yuki: There are some basic rules during rehearsals that I always “teach” first. One would be that you give every actor time with the text and emotes. Then, that the actors always look at the audience, except in specific exceptions. However, the most important thing is that the players have fun playing, because without that factor, nothing works.
We meet once a week, unless I am training only with a specific group, like dancers, then it could also be twice.
A suitable stage with decorations and costumes is, of course, a must.
MeinMMO: Does everyone on your team have a special role or do you share all tasks?
Yuki: We have many roles. First, the actors, who focus solely on that, then the musicians, the “set coordinators,” who change the set according to the scene, and me, the director, who tells everyone where to go! No, it’s not quite like that; I give the instructions, and the actors have the freedom to embellish their roles with emotes.
The stage, different scenes, and furniture, which you can completely set up in Final Fantasy, have also been provided by us. It sounds very arrogant, but it is not at all; I have the vision, but the actors are the ones who really present and make it grand!
I take care of the entire background so that we can really perform in good quality and with fun.

The professions in World of Warcraft become relevant with Dragonflight – and in a significant way. However, the entire system becomes considerably more complicated.
For many years, World of Warcraft has repeatedly emphasized that it wanted to “make the professions relevant again” – but this has never lasted very long in the expansions. With the upcoming expansion Dragonflight, WoW seems to mean it seriously and brings the biggest changes to the professions system that have ever existed. At first glance, the system is quite complex and opaque. We try to bring you closer to the most important innovations and explain what it’s all about.

The introduction of quality
The biggest and (at least at first glance) most complex change is the introduction of quality levels.
For crafted equipment, there are 5 different quality levels, which you can recognize by a small icon on the item.
Tier 1: Bronze icon
Tier 2: Silver icon
Tier 3: Gold icon
Tier 4: Diamond icon
Tier 5: Legendary icon

For some crafting materials and consumables like potions, there are only 3 quality levels instead. Materials that can be collected by all players (fabrics, fish, or meat) do not have quality levels at all.
For crafted equipment, quality provides a small boost to item level. Blizzard mentioned, for example, an item that has an item level of 270 at the lowest quality and an item level of 280 at the highest quality.
The core idea behind this is that it should always be worthwhile to strive for a high quality level, but never so powerful that the lower variants are completely worthless.
For consumables, a higher quality means more charges, a longer duration, or a stronger effect – it depends on the specific item.
The “lower quality” potions will likely be sold much cheaper and could become a “budget version” for consumables, so that you can use a potion in dungeons or simpler fights without lamenting a small fortune afterwards.
Specializations for professions return
In earlier versions of World of Warcraft, some professions – such as Alchemy, Leatherworking, or Blacksmithing – had the option to specialize in specific areas of their profession. This was accompanied by special recipes that only these specialists could create.
In Dragonflight, these specializations are making a return, both for crafting and gathering professions.
With specialization, you set yourself apart from other crafters of the same profession and become particularly skilled in a specific area. For this, you can earn and spend specialization points to enhance certain aspects of your profession.
This directly raises the quality of the items you can craft.
How to achieve the best quality?
Reaching the highest quality level for crafted items is supposed to be no easy task. Blizzard wants, literally, that “only the best of the best can craft these items at the highest quality, and only using all the tools available to them.”
All items have a difficulty level in crafting. This difficulty is compared against your profession skill and specialization – if your skill is higher than the difficulty, you craft the item at a high quality level. Optional components can dramatically increase this difficulty.
Success in crafting, however, is rewarded with exquisite items. Those who maximize their profession can craft some armor pieces that are at the quality level of mythic raids – the best that can be earned in the game. However, this entails prerequisites according to Blizzard such as:
You must specialize specifically in this type of equipment.
You must use materials of the highest quality, including optional reagents (which can only be produced by experienced gatherers and crafters).
You must use the best profession equipment you can find.
Professions are supposed to significantly broaden progression and become a foundation for solid equipment. However, to ensure players aren’t solely relying on professions, there will be some restrictions in Dragonflight for the most powerful crafted equipment:
Players can wear up to 5 crafted items at a time (two-handed weapons count double).
All these items are at least at the item level of items at normal raid level. With optional reagents and higher quality, the level can rise to heroic or even mythic raid levels.
All these items are soulbound. You must craft them yourself or receive them through crafting orders.
Crafters get their own stats
It was already mentioned in the announcement of Dragonflight that professions will receive their own equipment that affects their crafting. There are 4 new stats that are exclusively interesting for crafters and have different effects. These are:
Crafting Speed: Increases the speed at which you craft items. This is especially beneficial for those who often craft large quantities (like potions) to speed up the process.
Inspiration: This stat is basically a “luck factor” and increases the chance that you craft items with a higher skill than your actual specialization or skill would allow.
Ingenuity: Your character has a percentage chance to use fewer tradeable reagents while crafting, thus increasing your profit margin.
Multicrafting: Your character has a percentage chance to craft multiple stackable items (potions, flasks, etc.) at once.
The crafting menu is significantly more complex than before.
Especially the stat “Inspiration” has already generated criticism in advance, as it introduces a clear “RNG element” into crafting. Blizzard emphasizes here that inspiration is merely an option. If you want to craft the best equipment at the highest quality level, you are never reliant on inspiration (i.e., luck) but can achieve this deliberately – entirely without this stat. Inspiration is simply meant to provide a few lucky moments where you craft higher quality items than actually planned.

Also new is the “crafting orders” system. These are pretty ingenious and allow a lot of interaction between players to enable a steady flow of gold.
With a new NPC, you can place crafting orders. You choose which item you want crafted by another player and what you are willing to pay for it. You can even contribute resources yourself – including soulbound ones – and thus lower the price. If resources are lacking, they must still be provided by the actual crafter.
Further settings allow you to specify the minimum quality in which you want to receive the item.
However, keep in mind that you must also offer a fair price. If the crafters do not like your price expectations, the order will remain unfulfilled – in that case, you will receive your invested materials and gold (minus a small fee) back.
You can “order” items – and even specify who should craft it for you!
The catch is: Through crafting orders, you can also have items crafted from professions that are already soulbound upon pickup. If you are keen on epic boots from a blacksmith, but your warrior is an alchemist and herbalist, you can simply visit the crafting orders NPC and commission the boots there. If the crafting is successful because a master blacksmith is found, you will receive the soulbound boots!
You can also restrict crafting orders. You can either make the orders available for all players, only for members of your guild, or for a specific character.
Anyone who builds such a large customer base, is friendly and specialized in a field, will hardly be able to escape from requests and will receive inquiries repeatedly.
It is therefore worthwhile to regain a reputation as a capable crafter known throughout the realm.
What implications does the new profession system have?
It is difficult to foresee the exact implications of the new system. However, some reasonable speculations can already be made, and both the positive and negative consequences can be estimated.
On one hand, there is no doubt that professions will become significantly more complex. The reintroduction of specializations, four attributes for crafters, quality levels, equipment for professions, and numerous optional crafting components contribute to a complexity that will certainly not make the entry easier. Those who are already overwhelmed by the professions in World of Warcraft will likely have little fun with this aspect of Dragonflight.
At the same time, however, the new system also offers many opportunities to fill gaps in equipment or earn items that are on mythic raid level. If you often have “bad RNG” and never get a weapon from dungeons and raids, you can simply have one crafted at mythic raid level, provided you find the materials and a suitably skilled crafter. This should reduce frustration and ensure that players wear equipment they actually want.
Additionally, crafting orders are a good way to make a name for yourself on your realm again. It will happen more often that people will say: “Bettevere is the best alchemist for intelligence flasks” or “Aoihbheann can craft the strongest leather gloves.” Anyone who establishes market dominance with specialization should be able to maintain a loyal customer base throughout the expansion.
Lastly, the various quality levels are likely to ensure that a wide variety of potions are offered at affordable prices, which can then be used more freely – similarly to how, at the end of Legion, the “Potion of Empowered Prodigy” could be used freely due to its low cost.
Dragonflight will definitely shake up the professions system. Whether it improves the game and makes professions useful again in the long term remains to be seen.

How do you unlock the Blue Mage? To play the Blue Mage, you don’t even have to buy FFXIV. The limited job is now available in the free trial version, but it only goes up to level 60.

How to play the Blue Mage
Why is the Blue Mage “limited”? The Blue Mage differs from other jobs in Final Fantasy XIV in several aspects:
Its maximum level is 70
It cannot enter random content
It can only participate in dungeons, raids, and trials in a full party
It cannot do PvP
This means that in order to learn new spells from dungeon bosses, Blue Mages must look for three other players to enter the dungeon with them. These can be other Blue Mages, or alternatively, they can bring along a friend at level 80 who can clear the way alone.
Over time, the development team will increase the max level of the Blue Mage and implement new spells into the game.
What is the best way to level up the Blue Mage? Since the new job is excluded from random content and cannot collect the daily juicy EXP bonuses, it is advisable to use other means.
In addition to the usual content like FATEs and supply runs, Blue Mages can level up well by simply killing monsters outside in the field. It is advisable to get the spell “1000 Needles” as quickly as possible.

Which armor do I use as a Blue Mage? Since the class is a mage, you will of course use gear that has Intelligence as the main stat. So all the usual mage clothes and accessories found in the market and in dungeons.
Completing the first Blue Mage quest will give you a weapon and a full armor set. You will keep the weapon until level 50; the armor should be discarded as soon as you can wear something better.
