Only 5 days after the launch of Lightfall, Destiny 2 must deactivate another exotic, the Stasis glaive “Winterbite”. Previously, the Exo fusion rifle Jötunn had already fallen victim to the banhammer. MeinMMO tells you why the weapons are no longer in the game.

Recently, the new expansion Lightfall and the new Season 20, the Season of the Resistance for Destiny 2 have launched. These bring all sorts of new content, but apparently, problems have sneaked in as well. Thus, Bungie was forced again this evening to deactivate an exotic weapon.

What exotic has now been locked in Destiny 2? As Bungie announced via their official Twitter channel, the exotic glaive “Winterbite” has been locked. This is a new Lightfall weapon that has only been available to earn for 5 days. It was also the first glaive to be used in the power slot.

• Players who had completed the Lightfall campaign could begin the glaive quest with Quinn Laghari, the archivist in the Hall of Heroes. She asked players to help her restore 5 monuments.
• The last monument named “Strider” then rewards the icy Exo trinket in the form of the heavy glaive “Winterbite”.

Hardly earned, but for the Guardians, the frosty glaive fun was already over again, as Bungie coldly locked the new Neptune scepter.

“Winterbite” deactivated – But why?

What triggered the lock? The glaive was not for nothing considered a “frosty monster” among players, even before the release of Lightfall.

Last night, YouTuber Luckyy10P shared a short video on Twitter showing him in the ogre encounter of the dungeon “Sog der Habsucht”. With him, the new exotic glaive “Winterbite” for the stress test. In the video, you can see how the weapon melts the boss in no time. After just one phase, he meets his demise. Apparently too much of a good thing.

Bungie reacts quickly with the deactivation: No sooner than 40 minutes later, the developer responded with a lock. The heavy glaive “Winterbite” was deactivated due to a problem where it caused more damage than intended.

However, it was not disabled throughout the game, but only in raids, dungeons, and in the PvEvP mode Gambit.

Currently not the only deactivation in Lightfall

This weapon is also currently locked: The “Jötunn” fusion rifle from the “Black Armory” DLC is also currently deactivated in the Crucible, the PvP of Destiny 2, as well as in raids and dungeons. Its shot not only tracks enemies but explodes and burns them upon impact.

However, Bungie did not specify why the Exo was disabled in PvP. However, Destiny 2 players believe they know the issue. It is said that using the Jötunn in combination with the “Solar Plunderer” mod generated more ammo than intended.

• Normally, the “Solar Plunderer” mod grants 2x special ammo instead of 1x when picking up ammo used by the corresponding weapon.
• However, the bug with the Jötunn is said to have generated 10x special ammo each time.

If this is true, then the exotic was apparently removed to maintain balance in the Crucible, meaning in PvP, as well. Additionally, it seems they wanted to ensure that not every boss and enemy perishes under the fire of multiple Jötunn toasters with an extreme amount of ammo.

When will the weapons return? Unfortunately, Bungie did not specify. Thus, the exotics are likely to be gone until a fix can be provided. However, we will keep you updated on this matter here at MeinMMO and update this article accordingly.

After Destiny 2 lifted the time gate for Strand this week, the path to another Lightfall exotic was clear – the “Final Warning” pistol. However, the weapon is not just a Strand pistol, but a tracking unrelenting nightmare in PvP that is truly insane. We will show you why.

Currently, players in Destiny 2 have started various side quests revealed after the Lightfall campaign of the new DLC. An unplanned live update from Bungie also early on opened up the path to a new exotic pistol that revealed surprisingly nasty attributes that can dominate everything, especially in PvP.

What makes the new weapon so crazy? After the first players earned the exotic Lightfall weapon “Final Warning”, it quickly became clear that it is primarily an unrelenting exotic in the kinetic slot in PvP, equipped with some nasty special abilities.

Especially the tracking bullets are really aggressive and almost never miss their target.

Those who own it are in for a treat, as the weapon behaves like it has an aim-bot built in by Bungie itself, prompting some players to laugh maliciously after the kill, as you can see and hear in this weapon review:

The “Final Warning” is aggressive and relentless in PvP

Especially the tracking is way too good: The exotic traits give the new Strand pistol a mean relentlessness in PvP, which could lead to a nerf quite quickly. Because it’s just too good.

• The 450 pistol “Final Warning” can fire bullets that aggressively track targets.
• When firing from the hip, the bullets cause higher body hit damage on impact.
• If you prefer aiming, you benefit as well. In this case, projectiles have a significantly increased speed and deal additional damage to marked targets through critical hits.
• A marked target is also disintegrated when hit by a fully charged volley.
• And the kinetic weapon has unlimited ammunition, which could become a problem in PvP.

So if you still have tasks pending in PvP that require pistol kills: this is the opportunity.

The pistol shouldn’t even be available yet: Destiny 2: Lightfall contains a few new exotic weapons. However, while the machine gun “Deterministic Chaos” or the glaive “Winterbite” could be unlocked relatively early, the new exotic Strand pistol “Final Warning” was actually timegated.

• Players were supposed to receive the quest for the exotic weapon only after mastering the raid starting on March 10, which would have unlocked the last Strand fragments.
• Additionally, to receive the quest, one must purchase each Strand fragment for a character.

However, after the recent criticism of Strand, Bungie changed the plan. Only 4 days after release, a live update came that revealed the full potential of Strand to players.

At the same time, the unlocking meant that the weapon quest “The Final Strand” for the pistol “Final Warning” was available to everyone, who could gather enough Strand meditation quickly.

Here’s how to get the super strong exotic pistol “Final Warning”

If you also want to enjoy the weapon now to track other players, you need the quest “The Final Strand” and must meet the following requirements:

• Completely complete the new Lightfall campaign.
• Unlock all Strand subclass upgrades for a character.
  • Strand grenades cost 50 Strand meditations each.
  • Strand aspects cost 150 Strand meditations each.
  • Strand fragments cost 200 Strand meditations each.

After that, you can complete the quest, which only has 7 steps.

• Step 1 – Visit Nimbus on Neomuna: You can find him at the spawn point “Wanderer’s Gate”.
• Step 2 – Find Strand devices: Now travel to the Vex incursion zone, as you need to find Strand devices there.
• Step 3 – Defeat Shadow Legion looters: Now the quest requires you to survive a few Cabal waves until a Colossus appears that you need to kill. Read their orders to find out where they got their loot from.
• Step 4 – Get the “Veil Spectrometer”: For this, you need to go back to Calus’s ship, the Typhon Imperator.
• Step 5 – Return to the Wanderer’s Gate: You now need to head to the Pouka Pond at the Hall of Heroes.
• Step 6 – Complete Osiris’s training program: Now go to the “Vex Mixer” where Osiris will test your Strand abilities. Unlike in the campaign, this mission “Upended” is now a timed version of 5 minutes, so you need to hurry.

A real Vex mixer: Inside the “Testing Grounds” at Osiris’s training program, Destiny 2 throws you into a Vex mixer that you must escape from continually while keeping enemies at bay. Especially in the legendary campaign this kept the guardians busy and gave the grappling hook a purpose.

This rather special obstacle course and the subsequent boss fight also offer a few Neomuna triumphs in time, encouraging speedruns with Strand.

• Step 7 – Done: The final step is just a visit to the Pouka Pond. There, you can pick up the “Final Warning” weapon and complete the quest.
