The players of GTA 6 have been waiting for more than a year for a new trailer for the game. But the wait has gone on so long that they actually no longer want trailer 3.
In addition, we have slightly adjusted the wording.
What are the fans talking about? The fans of GTA 6 have been impatiently waiting for trailer 3 for over a year. To this day, there is no sign of it, which is causing some stir among the fans.
Some fans have the impression that the announced marketing campaign is still a bit sluggish; the promised “creative bomb” hasn’t quite detonated yet.
In a post on Reddit, they discuss what would hype them the most right now, and the result is clear.

Gameplay instead of Trailer
What generates the hype? For the hardcore fans of GTA 6, who have been discussing such topics on the Reddit forum for 4 months before the release, it is clear that a simple trailer 3 would no longer suffice. They wish to finally see gameplay.
So far, this is completely missing. Aside from some leaks from very early development phases of GTA 6, there has never been any real gameplay of the game seen. The fans argue that it is now time to get exactly that.
What do they want to see less of? In the post, in addition to trailer 3 and a gameplay trailer, the revelation of the map and the revelation of the online mode were also options. However, players did not find either of these so important; none of it necessarily needs to be seen beforehand.
The players have differing opinions on this topic, which all point in a rather similar direction on Reddit:
- BI14goat: “Gameplay”
- sapsnap: “They would never reveal the entire map; it shouldn’t even be an option.”
- EthanZine: “100% gameplay. We are so overdue for a trailer that it actually doesn’t matter. Just show gameplay directly. Why would anyone want the map to be ruined? I would rather explore myself. Online doesn’t matter to me.”
- kittynation69: “Obviously gameplay.”
But wait, hasn’t Rockstar already shown gameplay? In fact, the GTA developers stated in the second trailer that it was completely recorded in-game and consists equally of cutscenes and gameplay.
The crux of the matter might be that “gameplay” is not necessarily what fans mean when they talk about it. There are some scenes in the trailer where it’s likely that the player has direct control over the characters. However, it is not that easy to recognize which scenes those are, as they are nonetheless staged very cinematically.
Players, on the other hand, are probably wishing for “real” gameplay, for example, the normal camera perspective that shows the character over the shoulder, with a visible HUD, and maybe a few car drives or fights. Or, as Reddit user amhudson02 puts it: “Show us movement, mechanics, interactions, shrinking horse testicles. All that good stuff!”
How would you decide between gameplay, trailer 3, map reveal, and GTA Online reveal? Feel free to leave your comments! More important than the advertising is the content, and here the fans have a clear wish: GTA 6 fans have been demanding one thing for years, revealing why: “Half of the map was empty”
