The German extreme athlete Arda Saatçi can no longer complete his major challenge – but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up any time soon.
Who is it about? Arda Saatçi is a German-speaking extreme athlete and fitness content creator known for his extreme athletic performances, which earned him the nickname “Cyborg.”
Arda continually takes on extreme challenges, often documenting them in a way that makes them interesting for viewers who are not athletes themselves. For example, he ran from Berlin to New York. In his projects, he primarily acts as a role model for his followers, showing what is possible through dedication, mental strength, and a lot of training.
In his current challenge, he is running a total of 600 kilometers from Death Valley in California to Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles in just 96 hours (4 days).
Challenge fails early, but the Cyborg does not give up
This is the current status: Almost 90 hours have passed since the start of the challenge. The extreme athlete would have only 6 hours left to reach his goal within 96 hours. However, this is no longer possible.
Arda has completed about 426 of the 600 kilometers, leaving him with around 174km to go. Additionally, he is currently on a rest break until 3:00 PM German time. To complete the challenge, he would need to run at a speed of 34.8 km/h in the remaining 5 hours.
The average speed of the extreme athlete during the project was approximately 4.77 km/h (12.34 km/min).
This is how it continues: It is clear that Arda cannot reach his goal anymore. However, the extreme athlete emphasized in the livestream on Twitch that he does not want to give up: “I hate giving up. For me, there is no giving up. No matter how long it takes, I will ultimately try to finish it.”
Once the extreme athlete finishes his current break, he will continue on his way, giving everything to reach Santa Monica Pier and complete the 600 kilometers – even if he does not accomplish it in 96 hours.
While Arda runs 600 kilometers in 4 days with only minimal breaks through Death Valley, Trymacs and other Twitch streamers are lying down on e-bikes for 600 km over 8 days from France to Spain, with overnight stays in hotels and extensive meal breaks. However, shortly after the start of the tour, there were initial problems: Twitch streamers are lying along the Mediterranean for the next few days, having already experienced nearly 2 breakdowns at the start
