Elden Ring DLC: Release in June – Shadow of the Erdtree brings new bosses, armors, and a dark area

Elden Ring had its premiere today for its first gameplay trailer for the upcoming DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree”. We were there live and report on the most important things you can see in the trailer.

What does the trailer show? The new gameplay trailer for the upcoming DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” shows a new area that players will soon be able to travel to. It is another dimension where Miquella, one of the most powerful gods of Elden Ring, is causing trouble. Your task is to travel to this dimension and find out what plan the young god is pursuing.

Challenging bosses and new items await you

What can we see in the DLC? In the upcoming DLC, you will be able to travel to a new dimension of Elden Ring. The new area is very similar to Limgrave but has a darker touch. In addition to many cut-ins from other sub-areas like a castle and a decayed forest, there are also images of armors.

In total, we could recognize four new armors in the trailer. Among them is one made of stone and one armor with a striking face mask and a mane.

But what would a DLC be without new bosses? The trailer shows plenty of monsters that can soon destroy players. From undead beings to abstract figures, everything is included. At the end, however, a humanoid boss is shown, who is likely to represent Miquella. He bears similarities to Malenia, his sister, and has the same red hair as she does.

When will the DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” be released? The DLC is set to be released on June 21, 2024, and can already be pre-ordered. Those who pre-order will receive the special emote “Ring of Miquella” as a bonus.

How much does the DLC cost? The price of the DLC is €39.99 on PS5. A high price considering that other DLCs from FromSoftware have been cheaper. It remains to be seen how much content this DLC will offer to justify the price.
