Instead of simply breaking down your items in Diablo 4, you should take advantage of a new feature from Lord of Hatred. With it, you can complete your builds and farm items at the push of a button.
With the “Lord of Hatred” expansion, numerous innovations came to Diablo 4, including:
- Two new classes (Paladin and Warlock)
- War Plans – essentially a “playlist” for your endgame activities
- The Angel feature
- Talisman including set bonuses
- The Horadrim Cube
The Horadrim Cube allows you to transform, modify, or recraft items and materials through various recipes. These options can enhance and significantly upgrade your builds. In many cases, it is therefore more worthwhile to forgo breaking down items and materials.
Recycle items with the “3 to 1” recipe instead of breaking them down
What is this trick? At its core, it’s about cleverly using the recipes of the cube to convert useless items directly into useful ones. On Reddit, a player points out that this method is often much more efficient than going to the blacksmith – especially when you’re looking for items for a specific slot.
This is especially true for the following categories:
- Set Talisman Spells: At the torment levels, set talisman spells drop more frequently. If you have three set spells that don’t fit your build, use the “3 to 1” recipe to get a new random spell. This can even be “enchanted.” In the case of duplicates, the “Re-roll Set Talisman Spell” recipe helps transform the spell into another from the same set.
- Sigils: Here too, the “3 to 1” method can yield suitable results for your build. Sigils can also possess traits that harmonize with specific talisman sets. Pay attention to the special set effect of the sigil – if it is grayed out, it is inactive.
- Uniques: Instead of breaking down useless uniques, you can convert them into a potentially better unique with the “3 to 1” recipe. However, you need three copies of the same item for this.
Alternatively, you can place a specific unique together with three unique talisman spells into the cube to craft a special unique spell from it. This way, you benefit from the unique effect of the item without having to occupy an equipment slot for it.
The Horadrim Cube as a “powerful tool” for farming items
Even the Diablo expert wudijo describes the Horadrim Cube in his YouTube video as a “powerful tool” to get exactly the items you need. He recommends collecting rare yellow weapons, that is, main and offhands, and turning them into legendary items in the cube. These have guaranteed offensive aspects with which you can complete your codex.
If you are specifically looking for uniques, you can also convert boss materials in the Horadrim Cube. The materials still drop but have no further use. In the cube, you receive a random unique from the loot pool of the respective boss from five materials, as presented by wudijo in the video.
The Horadrim Cube thus offers you a huge array of crafting possibilities. You can not only modify equipment but also specifically create legendary runes.
