The amulet Fractured Winterglass is one of the most popular items for Sorcerers in Diablo 4 because it is the core item for the “Frozen Orb” build. MeinMMO reveals where the amulet drops, how to farm it, and how to use it correctly.
Where does Fractured Winterglass drop?
- The best source for Fractured Winterglass is Astaroth. You can find the boss in Escalating Nightmares.
- To visit one of these nightmares, you need to find Escalation seals and redeem them in your inventory.
- You can find all important information about Astaroth in the guide on how to summon and defeat him.
This is what makes the amulet so good: The Fractured Winterglass has particularly useful stats for the Frozen Orb build. The build is in the Tier List of the best builds in Season 13 in S-Tier. The amulet provides you with:
- Cooldown reduction on summoning spells when a spell of the same type is called.
- Every active summon grants:
- increased damage of [3.0 – 6.0]%[x]
- 1 Mana per second.
- 5%[+] movement speed
- 2.5%[+] damage reduction
As a legendary effect, the amulet gives you a chance of up to 65% to cast a random summon when your spell belongs to the same element. Summons also have a critical hit chance to cast summons.
Builds with the item are suitable not only against hordes of enemies but also bosses, which is rare for the Sorceress.
Fractured Winterglass for the “Frozen Orb” build – Here’s how to play it
The play style of the build is quite simple: you basically just spam Frozen Orbs and watch everything around you explode while Hydras and Ice Spears sweep through the enemies. It is important that the final explosion hits the right target.
Otherwise, you keep yourself alive with Ice Armor and Flame Shield. However, you need to pay close attention to your mana. Other items you should ideally have in the build are:
- The Robe of the Infinite
- Tibault’s Will
- Tal’Rasha’s Shimmering Band
- The Ring of the Starless Sky
- The Harlequin’s Crown (“Shako”)
You obtain the Robe of the Infinite from Bartuc, the boss of the Hell hordes. You ideally farm Tal’Rasha’s from Urivar and Tibault’s Will from Varshan. You can find Shako and the Ring of the Starless Sky at Duriel and Andariel:
You can find the build in detail on maxroll.gg. It also lists the required Paragon boards and skills.
With the appropriate items, you can then pull enemies to a point via teleport and blast them into the air with Frozen Orbs. The orb itself makes enemies vulnerable, which already multiplies your damage.
Before you have the necessary items, you should ideally play a different build. The Lightning builds of the Sorceress are usually quite good for this because they are almost all less mana-hungry than the Frost builds. A higher level also helps. Here you can find tips for leveling quickly.
