In addition to a variety of mounts and vehicles, there is also the option to glide around with a jetpack in Crimson Desert. However, to obtain the rocket backpack, certain requirements must be met and steps completed.
We explain what it’s all about and how you can get the jetpack.
Unlocking the Jetpack in Crimson Desert – The Requirements
The jetpack primarily serves as gliding capability for the playable character Oongka. While Kliff uses his raven cloak and Damiane utilizes her propeller, Oongka receives the jetpack. However, unlike the other two, you will need to craft it specifically to glide with the character.
To do this, you must meet the following requirements:
- Complete chapter 8.
- Unlock Pailune as a city.
- Head to the south of the city and look for Grimnir’s assistant. He will give you a letter that will yield the blueprint for the second crafting step after investigation.
- Complete the Sanctuary of Regret.
- You will find it east on the map. Since it is marked for the witches quest line, you won’t need to search for long.
- There, you must defeat all enemies and repair the furnace in the sanctuary to obtain the blueprint you need for the first crafting step.
Once you’ve completed that, you can dive into crafting the jetpack.
Crafting the Jetpack in Crimson Desert – Here’s How
To craft the jetpack, you need to perform two crafting steps. For that, visit the Kilnden workshop west of Hernand and go to Grimnir at the cauldron.
- Then use the blueprint to craft the base for your Kuku rocket backpack with the following materials:
- 1 x Merchant Backpack
- You can find this in the open world or steal from wandering merchants.
- 1 x Kuku Iron Pot
- If you only have one and don’t want to sacrifice it, you need to craft a new one first at Grimnir or via the mission in your camp.
- 1 x Merchant Backpack
- Once you have the base, you can use the second blueprint to complete the jetpack called Kuku Rocket Backpack:
- 1 x Kuku Backpack
- This is the base item that you crafted in the first step.
- 10 x Iron or Copper Ore
- You can mine it yourself or buy it from merchants.
- 5 x Gear
- You can find it from Abyss enemies or in chests.
- 3 x Small Battery
- You can loot this from technical devices or pirates in Demeniss.
- 1 x Kuku Backpack
And now Oongka can finally zoom through the air, and you’ve secured the jetpack.
Note: Unlike the raven cloak and Damiane’s propeller, the rocket backpack must be equipped in the designated slot in the inventory. So once you’ve crafted the jetpack, you still need to activate it. After that, it works just like all other gliding options, by pressing the corresponding key and watching your stamina.
