So Much More Comfort, in All Areas
Through a variety of further adjustments, the developers have noticeably optimized comfort and quality of life over the past weeks. Here is just a selection of small but fine improvements that have a noticeably positive impact on the open-world adventure:
- Even simple dialogues can now be skipped.
- You no longer need to mine ores for their locations to be displayed on the map. Additionally, mining actions are shorter and more efficient. If you use the right tools for mining ores or logging, you automatically collect the respective raw materials.
- There is now a time-saving quick cooking function for cooking.
- Kliff now asks whether you want to invest keys to open a locked door.
- You can now see on the map which caves you have already visited and which treasure chests you have opened.
- The operation of the Visione helmet has been significantly simplified.
Must-Have: The Photo Mode
The world of Crimson Desert looks stunning, offering impressive panoramas and spectacularly staged battles. The photo mode introduced before release allows you to beautifully capture these visual advantages even in the most chaotic moments. In the meantime, new options have even been added to change the focus, for example.
This kind of photo mode is not only great for fans who want to capture memorable moments or the style of their heroes, but also for editors looking to create cool feature images and screenshots for their articles. The photo mode of Crimson Desert has significantly eased this part of the job.
Beautiful New World
As beautiful as the continent of Pywel can be, the game’s technology has shown some inconsistencies at moments – especially on Xbox S and the regular PlayStation 5. The developers responded with optimizations to noticeably curb performance drops and to reduce loading times after a character’s death or during fast travel.
Moreover, several new adjustment options have landed in the settings, such as “Fixed 4K Resolution” to improve image quality for 4K monitors or “Intel XeSS 3.0” and “Intel XeSS Frame Generation” for support of certain Intel graphics cards. All this is complemented by new accessibility options like a colorblind mode or “protection against light sensitivity”.
