Like previous Diablo games, Diablo Immortal features various difficulty levels. However, as the first MMO in the series, it is now facing challenges with this system, as it divides the community – more or less literally.
What is happening in Diablo Immortal right now?
- You can choose different difficulty levels in Diablo Immortal to secure better loot.
- However, this is currently frustrating players because content like dungeons only work in a group once you play on Hell 1 or higher.
- Now they are demanding a solo option, as this feature is blocking their progress – literally. They can do nothing about it.
What kind of system is that? Hell levels are increasing difficulty levels in Diablo Immortal. There are 5 levels where enemies deal more damage, have more hit points, but also drop better loot.
The system is actually meant to ensure longer gameplay enjoyment. Contrary to some tips, it is even advisable to always play at the highest possible Hell level for you, as the quality of the items is simply better there.
The Hell has been around since Diablo 1, where it represented the last area. In Diablo 2 it became the highest difficulty level and in Diablo 3 it was replaced by Torment levels. The idea of Hell as a challenge has been part of the series for 26 years.
In Diablo Immortal, however, this ancient system is now a problem because it forces groups that are not always available.

An ancient system blocks set items in Diablo Immortal
This annoys players: Threads are repeatedly popping up on reddit demanding solo dungeons. This is because players simply cannot find groups. Those signing up for a dungeon from Hell 1 are automatically put into the dungeon finder.
User HenriiQ92 complains:
Saturday night and 0 players are running dungeons on an allegedly active server. What is the point of forcing me into groups when I can’t find players? I know there are many posts about this, but I am frustrated. Thank you all and have a nice weekend.
This post is one of the most popular in the Diablo Immortal subreddit. The problem is that players can only find groups in their Hell level. A large part is currently stuck on Hell 2 trying to reach Hell 3. This means: Players who have already reached Hell 3 or are still in Hell 1 are currently finding hardly any teammates.
Diablo Immortal is popular among casual players – especially one group enjoys playing: fathers of young children. If they could play solo, they wouldn’t need groups and could grind anytime.
That’s why dungeons are so important: Only in dungeons do the coveted set pieces drop, some of them only starting from higher Hell levels. Since sets are important for almost all builds, you need them to become stronger. But if you cannot even enter the dungeons, you also cannot get better items.
reddit user High_On_Genocide is therefore even demanding to completely separate sets from dungeons to make the game better for solo players. Whether this will ever happen remains to be seen.
