In Lost Ark, many players are currently losing their entire progress. While the developers are working on a solution, affected players should not log in.
What is the problem? The servers of Lost Ark were offline on July 22 for about 7 hours for maintenance. Among other things, inactive guilds were supposed to be deleted, whose players had either been banned or had not logged in for more than 12 months.
When the servers were online again, however, numerous players reported on social networks such as X that their accounts were completely “naked.” All characters lost all their gear, storage contents, as well as skins and pets.
This is how Amazon and Smilegate are reacting: On the official Discord server of Lost Ark, the responsible parties have now published several info updates regarding the issue. They advise affected players not to log in to Lost Ark:
- July 23 at 02:50 AM
- “The team has been working intensively all day, and we are actively coordinating a recovery plan. I do not have a confirmed timeline yet, but this remains our top priority and we are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.”
- July 23 at 05:37 AM
- “If your account was affected, we strongly recommend that you do not log in or play until the issue is resolved. We will inform you as soon as it is safe to continue the game.”
- July 24 at 01:54 AM
- “Resolving the issue correctly is our top priority, and we are taking the necessary time to ensure that affected accounts are properly restored. If you are one of the affected players, I still recommend waiting to play until the fix is deployed. I know this is not ideal and not what you want to hear, but we believe this is the least disruptive way while we work on the resolution.”
Since then, there has been no further update that gave the all-clear or announced a solution to the account problems (as of July 24, 2026, 8:00 PM). The Smilegate team is still working on restoring the lost content.
