We already reported on MeinMMO that Gabe Newell had treated himself to a new luxury yacht for 430 million euros. Equipped with a garage for submarines, a hospital, and 15 fully equipped gaming PCs.
In a picture that was shared on Reddit and officially comes from the promotional material of the luxury yacht by the shipyard Oceanco, you can see people gaming in a conference room on the ship (Via Forbes.com). However, in the community, it’s less about the fact that gaming is taking place and more about the fact that they all have partially funded this luxury yacht.
Who is gaming there is not known. Some speculate it’s employees from Valve, while others refer to the promotional material. Moreover, it’s strange that people are all playing on laptops and not on the 15 gaming PCs that are supposed to be on the yacht.

What are the players talking about? Someone writes on Reddit and perhaps says what many are currently thinking: “I paid for that lightbulb on the ceiling.” Another adds: “We all did. Our lightbulbs.”
The community is implying that Gabe Newell can only afford such an expensive boat because users purchase many games on Steam every day. An expert recently revealed how Valve really earns so much money together with developers. Because there are several mechanics behind making a game earn many millions.
