Work and Jobs
Even if your characters often became adventurers for another reason, seeking normal work along the way remains a mundane but honest method to acquire gold.
If you stop at a small place during your journey and rest in a tavern, instead of a merry evening, you could simply offer to help with the busy operation.
Besides serving, there are other possible jobs that might suit your character more:
Your fighter can show the youngsters how to properly hold a sword, a wizard can teach apprentice spellcasters new tricks, and a cleric can teach local healers how to effectively heal wounds.
These are not just lucrative side projects, they show character and allow you to do something good for the community at the same time.
While there is no miracle device that will make you rich with a snap of your fingers, perhaps at least one of these tips can serve as a suitable opportunity for your character if you want to fill your wallet a bit. Instead of creating a running gold machine through an exploit, it can be much more fulfilling if it becomes part of your roleplay.
If you want to become better roleplayers yourself but just can’t get into your role at the beginning of a session, a trick from professionals can help you better slip into your character: With a trick from experts, you’ll become better roleplayers at the start of every D&D session
