Robbery – If Your Alignment and Party Members Allow It
Another method to acquire gold – although not as honorable as earning it yourself – is good old robbery. Especially your group’s rogues won’t need this tip said twice; they are likely already pros in this area.
Not very well regarded, but all the more effective is it, with the right skill, to relieve others of their possessions. This can be done quite quickly with quick pickpocketing, but also with a bit more flair through a well-planned heist.
Especially the latter could become an exciting storyline in your campaign, where your group sneaks into the hideout of a bandit guild or a wealthy noble to claim their treasures.
Even though a robbery initially sounds more like a method for evil-aligned characters and parties, that doesn’t have to be the case. It’s ultimately a matter of perspective. You get to decide whether to rob the sleeping beggar or the ostentatious ruler, who might not care as much, but should.
