In the end, he succeeds in escaping from the cave and befriends other monsters to gradually establish his own realm. An undertaking that is being thwarted from many sides. After all, who would want a nation of monsters as an adjacent kingdom?
What makes the series better than Sword Art Online? The slime anime places a strong focus on the protagonist’s plans to truly create a home in the new world. It starts with a small settlement that gradually expands into a village and then a city, ultimately even culminating in the founding of a kingdom. Seeing how a world truly grows with each season and how interesting action as well as diplomacy play an important role makes the anime exciting from multiple perspectives.
