Usually, the final boss in role-playing games is the epic climax of the entire game. But in a 19-year-old RPG on Steam, you can defeat him in the first two minutes of the game.
Which game is it? Anyone who has ever played an RPG knows that the journey is the destination, and the final boss serves merely as the crowning conclusion. Typically, it takes dozens, if not hundreds of hours, to get there.
That was also the case in the RPG Two Worlds, which was released in 2007 on PC and Xbox 360. Like in other RPGs, you embark on a grand adventure in a medieval fantasy world. You have to complete many quests, loot, and level up in order to eventually face the final boss, but you can do that much earlier.
Guards!
How can you defeat the boss? As is typical for RPGs, you encounter the boss in the game in the first village, where you actually get to know him as the antagonist. If you attack the boss, you really have no chance: The boss attacks with powerful fireballs and easily takes on the player.
But there is a trick to defeat him with his own weapons. The fireballs cause AoE damage, so you can lure the boss into getting the attention of the guards in the first village.
If the boss injures the guards, they will attack him. Although the guards are not as strong as the boss, they have an infinite health bar. Together, the boss can be defeated in a few minutes, leading to an early ending including a final cutscene and end credits.
This whole thing is so easy that you don’t even need to be a particularly experienced player or a speedrunner, because the tactic is really easy to execute.
