The available information on World of Warcraft Patch 12.2 is still extremely scarce and is based solely on leaks and data mining. So far, it is confirmed that:
When will Patch 12.2 be released? Patch 12.2 is expected to be released in early 2027, probably in February. The 8-week patch cycle will likely be maintained.
What is the content of Patch 12.2? The following core points are basically as good as confirmed:
- In Patch 12.2 we will travel to the World Core. This is the innermost part of Azeroth and the place where the Titans are trying to transform the World Soul of Azeroth into a Titan.
- Xal’atath will attempt to merge with the World Soul to become one with it.
- We will encounter a new faction called “Radiant Core”. This likely comprises Earth Elementals that have become Diamonds and wish to free the Soul of Azeroth.
- It is known that Patch 12.2 will largely conclude the storyline of Midnight. There may also be a Patch 12.5 and 12.7, which will primarily lead into the next expansion, “The Last Titan”.
Note that this information is still based on leaks and data mining, and that the content may change until the announcement, presumably at the BlizzCon 2026, along with many other Warcraft announcements.
