World of Warcraft changes as you continue the campaign today. Midnight descends upon Azeroth.
With the end of today’s maintenance, the campaign of World of Warcraft Midnight continues. But a new feature is also available. The current raid, the Void’s Pinnacle, can now also be experienced by solo fans, seeing what drastic impacts the final battle will have on the world of Azeroth.
How can this be experienced without a raid group? As of today (25.03.2026), the story mode for the Void’s Pinnacle is also available. This means you can tackle the current raid final boss “Crown of the Cosmos” completely solo, accompanied by NPCs. This way you can advance the campaign and experience the dramatic impacts of the boss battle – for all of Azeroth will change afterwards.
To enter the story mode, simply talk to Turalyon near the raid entrance.
If you don’t want to play the story mode, you can also participate in the raid via the LFR mode – but you will have to wait another week for that. It is slightly more difficult, but should not pose a great challenge for most.
Midnight descends upon Azeroth
What happens to the game world? After completing the Void’s Pinnacle, Xal’atath’s plan comes to fruition. Midnight descends upon Azeroth and the Sunwell is completely corrupted by the Void. The effects of this can be seen in many parts of the world, especially in Silvermoon. Everything is shrouded in permanent darkness, and even the music changes in some places.
If you travel to the island of Quel’Danas, you will quickly notice that quite a bit has changed here as well. The defenders of the Army of Light have been overwhelmed, and the entire island is filled with creatures of the Void guarding the new, corrupted Sunwell. The overall atmosphere feels quite hopeless.
How does the campaign continue? After visiting the raid, you will set out with Arator to recruit various armies to reclaim the Sunwell. But you will experience that best in-game and prepare for the next raid – as “March on Quel’danas” begins next week, aiming to win back the Sunwell for the blood elves. Whether this will succeed and to what extent Xal’atath’s plans can still be thwarted remains to be seen …
If you want to escape the darkness, it might also be worth checking out the depths – leveling Valeera to level 60 there in no time, particularly fast this week.
