The next patch fulfills the dream that many WoW ladies and gentlemen have had for a long time: finally united with countless pets.
The housing in World of Warcraft is already quite good, but a lot of details are still missing. A long-awaited feature is coming with the next major Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek. Because then you can finally place your battle pets in your house and also outside. The limit in the first version was restricted to 10 pets – it has now been increased tenfold.
How many pets can you have in the house? Well, “countless” might be a slight exaggeration, but the limit is still set quite generously. Because you can place a total of 100 pets in your house. They can either be spread out over several rooms or you can put them all in one room and then see how the chaos unfolds. Thus, nothing stands in the way of your life as a crazy cat lady – except maybe the horrendous cat food costs or the necessity to constantly fish for fish.
Outside the house, you can still place 25 pets that will stay in your garden.

How can you place pets in the house? This can be done via new pet beds (or small platforms or thematically appropriate objects like lily pads or a bird’s nest), which can simply be bought from a vendor in Patch 12.1. You can then place the beds in your house (or outside) and select the desired pet from a menu.
In your house, you can also set whether the respective pet should roam freely or stay by its bed.
In the outdoor area of your house, there is no such option. There, you can only place pets on beds – they will not roam through the neighborhood.
However, the pets will continue to perform their special animations and behaviors if they have any. For example, the pet “Columbus”, which has the trait of sometimes running off in different directions, will continue to do so.
In the current PTR version, the pathfinding of the companions does not work correctly yet; only flying pets can move freely in the house. This should be fixed by the release of the patch.
How do you become a crazy cat lady? Well, the task is simple: anyone who wants can simply place all 100 pet beds in a tight space and then fill them with cats. Currently, it is also possible to assign the same pet to multiple beds, so that multiple copies of the pet can be active in the house simultaneously.
Or in other words: if you want to have 100 orange cats wandering around your bedroom, no one will stop you – except maybe the neighbors if the meowing gets so loud that no one can find sleep anymore. At least I know that I will soon fill my mage tower with a lot of animals that will drive visitors crazy …
