A small hotfix improves the artifact power system in World of Warcraft. However, only part of the problem is being addressed.
A hotfix in World of Warcraft has fixed a problem with bonus rolls and artifact power by now providing better rewards. However, players are not satisfied, as they want further improvements.
What is the problem? Artifact power has become useless for more and more players. Once the Heart of Azeroth reaches level 50, artifact power no longer provides any benefit. This means that every quest, and especially many emissary quests, no longer yield any advantage. Even “failed bonus rolls” for weekly coins became artifact power and thus useless.
What Blizzard has changed: With a hotfix, Blizzard has at least adjusted the reward for failed bonus rolls. Those who have their Heart of Azeroth already at level 50 and use a “bonus roll” and fail, will no longer receive 750 artifact power, but 2,000 gold coins. This way, the roll is at least not completely wasted, and players can look forward to a solid amount of gold and at least recover the cost of the roll.
Fans demand more: However, for players, this is not enough. After all, there are still numerous other contents in WoW that are predominantly rewarded with artifact power. Especially world quests and the associated emissary quests (as well as the Paragon chests) often offer artifact power as a reward. Many players are now completely ignoring these contents. Previously, they were an important part of daily playtime.
What do players wish for? Players have many suggestions. Some wish that artifact power from quests should simply be converted 1:1 into gold. Others believe that a small amount of Titan Residuum (between 3 and 20 per quest) would be an appealing incentive to farm new Azerite gear. Blizzard has not yet responded to this.
However, it is also possible that Blizzard simply “waits out” this problem. After all, artifact power will become relevant again with Patch 8.2 of the Rise of Azshara. There, the maximum level of the Heart of Azeroth will increase and grant access to new abilities.
Have you also leveled your Heart of Azeroth to level 50 and are struggling with the problem? Or do you find it good that many world quests are now uninteresting?
